  1. Don't often come on here but good news is always welcome. Canadian eh? Can't get away from the, gotta love them.
  2. Anier doesn't appear to have been awarded 3 years......? So...?
  3. Could have been worse--a home tie with equal prospects of doom without the money. Let's face it, one way or the other the winning team would have to face Celtic at some time in the tournament so the prospects of the money + another game at Tulloch is quite a prize.
  4. Coracle (also in Wales, hoch! hoch!)
  5. Elgin Loon, delighted you are doing so well on here. What is it now--5 stars already...? Goodness I'll have to come to Elgin when I arrive on me holidays from the Wild West here in B.C. Canada. Yes! ICT has fans from all over the world, even from Washington State et al in the USA. We have arrived and we hope your wee-er team will continue to progress and one day meet up with us for status and all. "We liked yer rambling, guid-natured banter Maybe ye are really, in disguise, the one and only Tam O' Shanter. So, up and at em, give us a blaw, and show us yer Northern Chanter. Then saddle up yer wee hoss and off yese gae riding back tae Elgin at a canter."
  6. Depressing news. If you are right this is not.. boden.. well for the future of ICT, never mind the player.
  7. Just what we needed! A handsome pay day --about the only chance from now on for us to get some money in the bank and allow the manager some breathing space. I don't want to tempt fate but a draw would be fantastic, The fans deserve this and a fast and furious game at Tulloch --just the ticket in a packed house. Yippee!
  8. Noted with a smile. And it wisnae me who gave you a red dot, Charlie. Nothing offensive about your post which tried to be helpful but maybe was a wee bit misconstrued. Things happen. So, off you go to bed and I'll be up with a wee Toddie for you in a minute.
  9. Nope! I went back to check and couldn't find the number on that BBC report anywhere. Just a wild guess from me.
  10. There appears to have been a lethargic response from the players in the past relating to his performance and drive requirements and in their own output of aggressive and determined energy. Really, it can hardly be described as a "never say die" attitude or sense of commitment to the team, the club and to Richie himself at a point in his career where he needs such a response from his players than at any other time. So my post above was directed at the players not him. What I was saying , which I thought was fairly obvious, was that the players also have to take responsibility for their own performances but, if they don't "get it", then what? And, therefore, if it really ISN'T all his fault, then he must try to bring in players whose attitude is matched only by his own aggressive spirit and ethic of hard work ---which is evident in all these videos that I have seen. He is a man, not a mouse. I am left wondering if some players are taking advantage of the fact that he is a new manager who is, apparently, all too willing to take all the blame all the time for all the mistakes or failures on the park?
  11. Same thought I had , Caley canary? Say about 3200 maybe?
  12. Elgin Loon--the Donald T. of the North of Scotland.

  14. IBM thanks. Good information that resonates with me. I don't remember cobble stones on High Street. That photo I mentioned was one looking East along Eastgate but D Mackintosh's T V shop is shown on the North (not the South) side. If the Beaufort hotel is up the hill, probably closer to Kingsmills, I think that could be accurate about Dennis and I remember his car too. But that was a really long time ago.

  16. Maybe someone should play a few of past videos to the fans showing Richie in action. That might convince them of the heart in this man, his will to win for the team, his skill and dedication and his passion to drive forward with great determination and intent. These past videos are dynamic in their demonstration of fantastic skill and what can be achieved from playing with thrust and commitment. AND....a lesson in attitude to the young up and coming players that can't be beaten. I am a big fan of Richie. Heh! I mean will IHE be expecting delivery of a 1400 lb Moose on his doorstep at Xmas. Watch this space.
  17. We are going to steal the game not the Elgin Marbles, Elginloon. Enter Charlie Bannerman for explanation......?
  18. Wasn't Hamilton street the one just up from the Playhouse and parallel with the top end of Academy Street? An earlier picture from IHE was one of Eastgate which showed a sign above a business which looked very much like the one on the shop of K. J. MacKintosh, T.V. and radio dealers. The son of K.J., Dennis, was married to my sister but no doubt that whole area has now been demolished and rebuilt by now? Placing the old and the new side-by-side gives for an awesome perspective and reminder of the past. The cobblestones in Inverness have, no doubt, also all gone by now?

  21. Second Row Welcome. That's some picture! Looking at the date of 29th May 1979 it got my blood flowing because I remembered that that was the date on which I bought my first business in Canada. I then stayed with it until exactly 29 years later, to the day, happier than I ever had been in the restricted office environment that I had become accustomed to both in Scotland and also here in Canada. Sure, if you can't handle it and are not prepared to work hard to master all the techniques required to allow the business to prosper, and thereafter continue to work very hard, you will likely not last long and you will likely just give up. However, by staying you will find out that with no collar and tie to choke you and no boss to listen to and restrict you then what you gain is directly related to your own actions, ideas and efforts and this is very satisfying and rewarding. Or, as Frank Sinatra once warbled, "I did it my wayyy!"
