  1. IHE has removed the periscope from HMS Sneck in a last ditch effort to disguise it as a proctoscope. His proc-nostication is a win for our boys....aye!
  2. Sneckboy maybe it was just that the situation improved in the Hull V game because the beaks were worried about a big hull-abaloo developing if they didn't play ball!!
  3. Oh! I understand now. It's the cold of Winter football. Seriously, should be wearing their Long Johns shouldn't they? Oh well, another justifiable reason for playing during the summer months. But the beaks in the SFA never learn.....
  4. "A calf strain"...? I'm just cowed by the thought. Beats me how so many young and very physically fit players can get injuries such as this.? Don't they warm up properly and stretch adequately prior to the game? Why does this happen?
  5. Ironic post from the Master observer....12th man.
  6. Good post Finmack. Time wasting is a tactic reminiscent of a weak team with a skewed agenda or a developing lack of confidence.
  7. Which all poses the question: Is Dundee now a rising force ?
  8. IHE it's hard tt get you to rise to the bait but....occasionally.....you rise to the occasion.
  9. Scotty spells it out in his post and the link he attaches is very explicit but also seems to make it even more cofusing. The Metis, however, are a different people from their Northern neighbors and seem to have originated in the Southern parts of Canada. They are made up of a combination of aboriginals ,or Indians, and French and or Scots who invaded their territories. My wife's son is attached to a Metis lady who is very intelligent and very knowledgeable about lots of things,. including computers, and a very reliable person. Yet in her facial features she looks just like any other Canadian woman albeit she possesses a slight-framed body. Louis Riel ,who was hanged by the Brits for his rebellion against their intrusions into his culture, was a Metis and he was a highly educated individual who gave the Brits a run-for their money. The Mounties (the RCMP) sought him here and sought him there so I think he was really a Scarlet Pimpernel at heart.
  10. Renegade ,I was thinking the exact same thing. Put Storey back on the right wing and encourage Roberts, who seems to be an aggressive player to get down the left side. Storey can then edge inwards towards the the goalmouth when Roberts' crosses come in so that he can one -time any balls missed by their defence. Just a thought. The one thing that struck me from the highlights though was the amount of time we spent in trying to keep possession--across the field and back and for. Great passing but if we don't get that ball forward we won't put the defence under pressure and we won't score..?
  11. You are a really remarkable guy, I.H.E. What a picture. The word Eskimo is now not banned from free speech but has faded into obscurity in Canada and been largely replaced by the word Inuit because that's what the Northern folks have called themselves for centuries and still do. Also, they have existed in very difficult climate for a long time by hunting and fishing and cultivating self-preservation techniques, wasting nothing, just in order to survive these harsh conditions and the lack of wood and metals, bringing self -sufficiency to a fine level. A remarkable and resilient people whose skills are matched only, IMHO, by their humility which I find endearing, It's easy to think of them as a backward race compared to the white man's achievements, but their capacity to adapt and thrive is dynamic. They have their share also of very intelligent, well educated and progressive folks as I noticed with great interest from a recent documentary film I viewed on the T V. and community is more important than money it seems.
  12. HMS Sneck may well have had it's last fray a few months ago. Where is it now IHE--in dry dock, perhaps, getting a face-lift? Methinks it has a few years left on it's fo'castle though , don't you? Let's get her ship-shape and Bristol fashion and back on the Firth ready for action. Unless the skipper has been thinking of entering his dotage of course..?
  13. Diddy "Diddums." Poor lad, come here to old Scarlet and get a wee hug. You seem to have a bad case of the dementia tremens -that will hurt when you wake up from the torpor and pain. There you go, feeling a wee bittie better already I can see. But you do appear to have some staying power and we might be able to make a good ICT fan of you yet if you just stiffen your resolve and come back again before we win the Scottish cup this year. The way things are going after a very hairy start to the season augurs well for the grand finale. Wanna come along to Hampden for a classy day out? Anyway, hasten back , But now it's time for the sack and a wee restful night. And tomorrow you can wake up refreshed and over yer terrible fright. Cheers the noo to you and say no to more "boo-hoo."
  14. Well this little recent speech by Mr. Doncaster should convince a few people that any delusions they ever had about local prestige and entertainment and fairness is like living in dreamland. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/35557830 Football the world over ( especially in the dynamic money leagues such as the Premiership in England) now is, like it always has been for quite some time now, about MONEY and little else. Money can be such a pervasive , insinuatingly selfish and de-grading energy force that it can intimidate and seduce almost anybody except those with very strong principles.....or a very deep and abiding love for their chosen entity. And yet, some will continue to argue that , even in today's world, it has it's uses? Er. who is right? If Doncaster is right, then football is going to be in decline all over the globe because he is pointing out that it will cease to be all-inclusive from the tiny toddler to the Messi's and his bosses of this realm. Gawd help us, Charlie Brown...........! Comments ?
  15. Yeah! I guess so...but if it was nor for T V I would have been unable to watch last year's Scottish Cup Final--a thrill never to be repeated.

You know ,Naelifts, since my son died in an ambulance a few years ago and the attendants managed to get his heart going again before they arrived at the hospital,I am in awe of such highly trained and dedicated people. Shortly afterwards he underwent a 6 hour heart operation which the surgeon told me would have cost $500, 000 in the United States. We pay $135 Can. per month to fund our Medical Services Plan but in the STATES you can go bankrupt from huge medical bills. Can you advise me whether all medical bills are still free in the United Kingdom? I believe you have a good Health Service there ?

Wouldn't mind having Gardyne of County in our team..... ?

Here, in North America, a favorite strategy of the National (ice) Hockey League teams, if losing by one or even two goals close to the end of the game, is to "pull" their goalie thus allowing an extra player be sent onto the ice in his place. This can be very risky, of course, but since they are losing anyway by at least one or two goals it often pays huge dividends. And if they can scrape a draw then they can win the match in extra time. EEEEEH! It's sometimes very exciting stuff. Especially when the winning team hits the puck down the length of the ice and the puck , instead of going into the empty net, hits the post and bounces off ...ha!

Wanderer--you are right about that. Smile ! From Beautiful British Columbia.. Rainy but cool. In the East of Canada they have been getting storms and huge snow falls. 30-40 cm. per day. Poor Scotty had to do some digging recently I think.
  20. Yngwie, thingwie --you are a wag!

Just imagine what the pundits and the annoyed Glaswegians will say if we win the cup AGAIN this year? Not to mention the papers :-----"Super Califragilistic , the Old Firm is atrocious" Smile.
  22. Either way it's more good money in the club's coffers. And a win will put the icing on the cake.
  23. Help--my writing/posting box has lost all headings so no spell checker, no emoticoms , nothing. Can someone please help an old codger out of a deep hole ...."merci buckets". How do I reset the message to type. to submit box headings? Also, at the first access to the site a few moments ago, I was told that I could not give a reputation vote to Charlie Bannerman and another nice, new poster. Then it relented and the next time I tried it, it worked. ....? GLITCHES needing a wee look, Scotty, perhaps? What with one thing and another the old Pimple is bemused...OMG no smiley to be seen. Ha!?
  24. Poor Foran --- I do wish you'd stop giving him backward flac.
  25. 12th man.....
