  1. I am also up early to check out the match. Can't believe the score after I came on some 10 minutes ago.

      IMMORTAL HOWDEN ENDER

It was 6 thousand 1 hundred and (I think) 61 - 6161 - Cellic end was full and they also had the wee "West Stand" too - so that is about 2000.

  7. The sooner JH gets a posting the better. It will help him to readjust to the life of a football manager rather than to a life of relative leisure subsidised by his former employers (not good for his poor soul ) and get him off our payroll which, in turn, would free up much needed funds to allow Richie to plan ahead with greater certainty.
  8. Bughtmaster why someone ever gave you a red dot for your post I have no idea. Bias perhaps? But I thought your post was spot-on and no mistake -- and so I gave you a green dot for accuracy and unbiased reporting that basically mirrored my view of the various video reports shown. As Iseen it it, the contact of the foul deffo occurred outside the box. But I was unaware that if he was plunged forward as a result,, and ended up on his nose in the box, then it is a penalty? That seems to be little more than hilarious because in this instance he was fouled outside the penalty box so how far back up the field does one have to be when fouled to NOT make it a penalty? If the point of the incident geographically is not the deciding factor where do we go from here...?

  10. Re comment about alleged lack of production from Doumboya--what happened there? Just bad luck and not getting the ball..... or just that he was overwhelmed by the occasion and may have frozen a bit?
  11. BDU 98196 or whatever, I'm with you--mainstand, close to centre and the higher the better. If you are a senior and can't see too well, just bring a pair of small binoculars-no problem? I was going to use the abbreviated word "binos" but I knew that IHE would just come in with a monster photo of a rhino and grab the limelight, sooo..........
  12. There you go, Thanks Yngwie. Green dot for you and one for IHE as follows :
  13. Final score was ....? (Please)
  14. CM in Berks--How do you know the score etc? Are you watching it on T.V. perhaps or have radar?

  17. Another goal from Ian Vigurs like that last one would be just the ticket. You know, a commentator described it as a blooter. Frankly that was one of the best superbly-controlled balls, hit with just enough speed to enter the met exactly where he wanted it to go, as I have seen. He didn't try to hammer it as hard as he could but approached the ball lovingly and very carefully stroked it at the right spot and with the right flighting. Now that was what I would call a professional beauty. Eh IHE?

  21. Well, both are good lads. One needs more experience and the other more games. They will need to work hard on bedding in and we wish both of them well. The lad from England may have some adjusting to do to the pace of the game and understanding the brogues but seems like a good chance for him to do really well. As for Brad there is no point in looking back, just work hard fit in and let it flow and remember real talent will out.

  23. " Theory and the real world are very different." Except ,Wynthank ,that you can continue to build on theory which is the basic building block for starting out but without it I do think that a player or manager must be very intuitive and very intelligent indeed to be able to master the tactics required and in vogue today, employed by both the opposition and our team itself, to win games.
