  1. Because that was the fault of the police - allegedly. Good to see Milan go through last night :003:
  2. Simple - we are a wee diddy team and we play (in some peoples eyes) some terrible hoof it and hope football. As already mentioned no one outside the OF is going to get much coverage in the papers - the likes of us, Falkirk and Motherwell - so we can't do much about that apart from just win more games and try and elevate our status in the SPL. Other fans see us as a "big, physical team..." etc. You know what I mean. That's just how they percieve us and perhaps to an extent they are right. We do have some big dominating players in our team but a lot of our midfield are midgets and Bayne aside it's not like we have huge folk up front. Our style of football, a lot of the time, won't win many fans (of other teams) but if it gets results you can't complain (too much :004: ).
  3. Every goal was a good one last night. The Roma goal was fantastic - he wasn't even looking at the goal when he shot!
  4. The are trying to preserve their games with the Old Firm and relying on those games to make money for the club. They don't want the league structure to change because they will lose out on OF cash by having less games against them or they will face a scenario whereby the might be relegated and not have any games against the OF at all. The Old Firm will runaway with the league regardless of its setup. I don't see how there will be any meaningless games with a larger number of teams. They will surely be more meaningful than the round of games your club is about to play over the next few weeks? At least they could go up in the table and get more prize money as opposed to knowing you are stuck in 7th and can go no higher.
  5. You wouldn't notice anyone missing tonight to be fair. Fletcher has done all right but he has been over shadowed by a very energetic and hard working Smith who took his goal well, a blistering Ronaldo who has tormented the Roma defence and the excellent Carrick who has scored a couple of great goals and dominated the midfield. All three have performed better than Fletcher.
  6. Now I'm worried because I think you were actually being serious. Fletcher has been anonymous in the first half. The front three have been excellent for Man Utd and Carrick and Giggs have done very well in midfield as well. Fletcher has contributed very little compared to what those players have done so far.
  7. Other - i.e. 18 teams. but no changes will ever happen because any Non OF team in the SPL wants the games against the OF for the money. They won't give that up.
  8. Hardly surprising ICT have said no to the suggestion - we are now part of the Self Preservation League after all.

  10. At ICT I would say that there are a trio of contenders for POTY - Wilson, Munro and Hastings. Wilson - He may now be 35 and a reduced role next season might beckon but he has had another great season for us. Still a potent threat down the right hand side and can send in a mean ball for the strikers to capitalise on. Weighs in with some goals himself and although his pace might be fading he can still beat his man with some neat trickery. His goal against Hibs showed he still displays quick thinking and he has also showed a degree of flexibility in his play by been stationed on the left wing on a couple of occasions this season. Munro - One of the very few players to come through the ranks at ICT. Runner up in Scotsports "Longest Throw" competition Grant has formed a solid partnership with Dods at the heart of the defence. Indeed this season he has performed better than Dods on many occasions I would say and it looks likely he will be given the Captains armband next season. Strong in the air and a fierce tackler, Munro has shown in numerous games he can handle the big stars of the SPL. Hastings - I was one of those who were sceptical when Robertson brought him back to the club. A bit part player is what most thought of him. When Golabek dropped out of the side through injury Hastings came in and performed exceptionally and soon began to gain confidence the more he played in the team after some shakey starts. This season he has carried on that form and is very much our first choice left back. Indeed, his form has been so good that Golabek has been farmed out to Livi. Certainly one of the most consistent performers for us though often poor with his passing out of defence and his crossing could be better. That said he defends well and matches his attackers for pace on most occasions. A dark horse for our POTY I feel. My personal preference is between Munro and Wilson. At this stage I don't think I can really separate them. A few more games should do that smile.gif

The only time stewards came into Section E was to talk to a couple of guys who were behind me on the left which is not the area where the shout came from. Indeed they seemed to know the stewards and appeared to get on pretty well with them. The stewards left and the two people they spoke to remained where they were. No one was lifted by anyone.

Not the same thing to everyone or simply not good enough for you? And if you are even for one second trying to suggest that I know who was responsible by appearing reluctant to divulge information/thoughts/opinion then you are very much mistaken. But you claim you knew the exact location it came from: On a side note, given your well known attention to detail when it comes to spelling (and your typical manner of insulting others over their spelling errors) you might want to have a look at your post again.

*sigh* Here is my first post in full: I can see the condemnation there. Of course I had some idea of the location of the shout - I have never denied that and I have offered my thoughts on where I thought it came from. Given that you claim to know the exact location of the person shouting I trust that you did something about it? I would have done had I known where it came from exactly but my position in the stand only told me one thing - it was to the right of me, quite possibly Section D. That is all I could tell. Without meaning to go off topic it's a bit pathetic that you seem to have resorted to personal insults to other forum members during this discussion. EDIT: I see Caley D has already covered this.

Are you sure? I sit in Section E and it came from my right and it sounded more like someone in Section D. I have already condemned it so I would appreciate it if you didn't try and lecture me on this subject thank you very much :003:

I thought I heard that being shouted as well but I wasn't sure if that's what it was or not. It came from my right hand side so it would have been (in theory) someone in Section D or C in the North Stand. Can't believe someone would say that and amazed no one immediately around him said anything. The section that was visited by the stewards was not where the shout came from. No idea why they came into our section - maybe they had made a complaint about it?

Get away! :015: He passed the ball around in standard Falkirk "tippy tappy" style but how much did he really create? He never stamped his authority on the game like he did down in Grangemouth during that horrendous pummelling we took back in December.

And just what would this corner have gotten us? You can't say we were robbed because we didn't get a corner. It seemed to take an age to hit the back of the net. I thought it had gone wide at first. What a great little touch it was. If he had scored with that shot earlier Quique Sánchez Flores would have been on the phone to Charlie offering us Silva in a swap deal. Hart impressed me as well. I sometimes wonder if a move to central midfield might be a good idea to accommodate him and Wilson in the same team. Richie is very strong in the tackle and seems to have endless energy. He was buzzing all over the place yesterday winning the ball back. A very good showing. All in all the team done well. There were good play, there were mistakes but we stopped Falkirk from playing their game and made more of the chances. The one thing that I noted though was the pitch. It looked really good but the ball just didnt seem to do what it should. Seemed to be a lot of bawbled balls. The bounces didnt go where they were expected and the ball seemed to stick to the ground at times. Referee was excellent. When there was a head knock he halted play right away if the players didn't get up so I've no idea why you think he allowed play to go on. His assistant on the stand side on the other hand... Agree with most of that aside from the Hart and MotM but Caff also did very well. We were lucky to get the draw because we simply couldn't finish. Doesn't matter if we have 5 times more shots than Falkirk, if we can't stick it in the net then we don't deserve anything. Luckily we found a way through at the end. Kasper was great crack. He also had a good laugh when we started singing about Danish Bacon (Yummy yum yum!) and at the end he gave us the thumbs up. Good banter with him indeed :003:

That's probably because Cowie is a central midfielder and not a right winger like Barry.

  20. Some really excellent posts in this thread.
  21. Some more:
  22. As with Libero that's pretty much what I think as well :003:
  23. She'd get it. Twice if she was lucky. EDIT: I've just realised who it is! It's Ceilidh Watson from MFR - and Mannies local apparently. Here are some more pictures from the new strip shoot. I have doubts if she was wearing anything other than the top! :010:
