ICT V Celtic Post Match Thread
Wahey! The site is working! Just a C n P from P & B ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thought ICT did very well up until CC decided to take off one of the best performers on the park. We lost that game as soon as Ian Black went off the pitch. He was bossing the Celtic midfield and while they might have had a lot of the ball, we were very well drilled and organised and they did very little with it. By taking Black off and putting McSwegan on we lost the shape that had served us so well for the previous portion of the game. And then for some odd reason we take off another midfielder and stick another striker on. I know attack is the best form of defence but we needed cool heads there at the end. Not an inexperienced headless chicken who was no help to us whatsoever. Personally I would have put Caff on to try and shore up the defence as Celtic were going to lay everything on us in the final few minutes but with having 3 strikers on it meant that our midfield was being over run by Celtic and they were getting much more space and time on the ball and they punished us severely. Our goal was fantastic. Black was instrumental in setting the move up. A few neat turns and a slick pass found Wilson who cut the ball back for Bayne to finish. A really fantastic goal. No doubt the County fans still think he is shite though :015: He had an excellent game, holding the ball up well and really roughing up Pressley. Duncan, McBain and Black were playing really well in the midfield. Holding the ball up at times and using it well. Some desperate long ball crept in towards the end of the first half but on the whole I thought we were well worth our lead. Thought we did well for the majority of the 2nd half as well but the subs changed the rhythm of the game and we all saw what happened. Charlie has said himself that McSwegan was not match fit - why did he bring him on? Ian Black was instrumental in getting us into the position we found ourselves in and I don't know why we took him off. Wilson might have been tiring but he was still finding the energy to chase everything down. Quite why he was getting abuse from the idiot next to me f'ck knows. He would certainly have been more use than MacAlliser as he has experience of these types of games. Really hard one to take as I thought we did so well but that's the reason why Celtic are 80 points clear at the top of the league. Bayne and Duncan were excellent for us today but Ian Black was MOTM for me. His passing and control were excellent and he was ghosting past players in the midfield. Yet again we showed we can play so much better when we pass the ball so why we have decided to go back to the awful long ball rubbish is beyond me. Not overly impressed with most of the Celtic players but I thought Sno was excellent. There was one piece of skill in the 2nd half where we went past 4 ICT players in the same movement. He played really well. Oh and Nakamura is a diving shitebag. Special mention to the fanny that is Dougie Macdonald. Your inconsistency was baffling and yet again you showed why you are one of the worst referees in Scotland. Well done :003: I was later told Black asked to come off because he was shattered. A shame because had he (and Wilson) stayed on I think we would have won today.

Morgan
:015: :015: :015: No chance. He did a good job but I think you are pushing it to say he was the inspiration behind the win. What game was that? Thumping we got? No one emerged from that game with pass marks nor can they hold their head high. Morgan included.

Blackburn Ticket Prices
It's an incredible amount isn't it? £45 to just get in the ground and some £20 more than other fans pay :010:

Why is it pathetic to dislike a club whose fans seem intent on shaming Scottish football with their disgraceful actions whenever they go into Europe? Your supporters actions in Villareal were disgusting as well and Rangers fans give Scottish Football a bad name. That's why I refuse to support them in Europe. I see also that you have to resort to abuse to try and get your "points" across much like you did in the thread with Charles Bannerman the other day. Now that is really pathetic.

ICT v Celtic....
I guess a couple of hundred for the uncovered main stand as those seats will still cost £27 and given the current weather there is a good chance of getting soaked whereas if you don't get a ticket - get a carry out, some food and watch the game from the comfort of your own home.

I am merely putting my opinion across. I don't expect you to agree with it.

I disagree. Look at the elevation of the hand. Clearly at an angle more akin to a Hitler salute than the Red Hand of Ulster. http://img115.imageshack.us/my.php?image=telaviv025mn4.jpg

ICT v Celtic....
They have 4 days recovery. I'd imagine that they'll be pretty well rested by Sunday and we won't see too many changes. Would be great if we did though.

Yo-Yo season
Not ideal but realistically it was pretty much the only option open to CC given how short we are on forwards at the minute.

Even ones whose fans perform Hitler salutes while playing a game in Israel?

Yo-Yo season
Looking at the table tonight - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/s...ble/default.stm - you could argue that is how the teams should be split certainly in terms of top half and bottom half teams anyway. Not being a boo boy but being realistic. Until we get a bigger transfer/wage budget then we should be aiming for something like 9th or 10th.

Yo-Yo season
I just think we are a 10th place team to be perfectly honest. We've only won a quarter of our games and that really isn't good enough for a place in the top 6. We are a team that would typically be found around 9th or 10th in the league. If we do better than that - bonus and a nice Cup run would go down well also.

I'm glad you agree.

Caley D - I don't see anyone suggesting that we have a right to win this. I think 4 - 5 - 1 could be a useful formation to employ. It serves Chelsea well in that they play defensive and soak up oressure but just as quickly launch a counter attack with the 2 wide midfielders acting as extra forwards. This is the kind of tactic we seem to use very well - soak up pressure and hit on the break. I think the one key thing we have to do is pass the football and get away from the long ball.

Since we have so many...
I bet Celtic would love him to start to given that he has only played about 2 reserve games in the last 4 months.

Since we have so many...
What's interesting is that actually compares favourably to Wyness' goals in the past season or so. We seem to have hit quite a lean spell not just in the last couple of weeks but past few months!

I would go with that actually Gaz. I think that is an excellent set up. Use Wilson and Rankin as wide attacking midfielders like we used Bingham and Wilson when Robbo used his front 3 that had Ritchie as the main striker. Of course Bayne would take over this role here. By having Duncan as a sitting midfielder that means we can afford to have Rankin and Wilson push further forward and when they do Black and McBain, when on the defensive, can drop a bit to the right and left respectively to fill out the midfield a bit more when defending.
