  1. not impossible but highly improbable. As Mr Bannerman hinted above, it would probably take a computer to work out the permutations involved since all 9 clubs below us are involved in playing each other. All 9 would have to pass us while at the same time taking points off each other. So my gut feeling is that Mannie is right. Almost as complicated is whether we can be knocked out of the top six by 4 of the teams below us. They only have 4 games left, apart from St Johnstone who have 3. If you make top six you can't be relegated anyway...... I've done it in a spreadsheet, and we can still be relegated. On a more positive note, we can still win the title too. But in reality neither are going to happen. I don't know about that. Just returned from the future and it seems we win the title. Other than a bottle of 8 yo Absinthe there doesn't seem to have been anything else that would suggest it wasn't a real experience ;-))))
  2. 2-1 Dundee in the end - is the big comeback on :-))
  3. Wonder which league they may be playing in next season?
  4. Five points out of the last four games and still in 3rd and five points ahead of Kilmarnock in 7th. Those four in my opinion were possibly the toughest games and although the next four are in no way easy I think we can pick up more than five points from them. The other thing is all those challenging for a top six place will take points of each other. Motherwell (A) 3-0 (L) - 3rd Hearts (A) 2-3 (W) - 2nd Dundee Utd (H) - 0-0 (D) - 3rd Ross County (A) - 0-0 (D) - 3rd Dundee (A) Ross County (H) Hibs (A) St. Johnstone (H)
  5. 1-2 hearts well Might only be a single goal in this one
  6. I have always thought Frankie Avalon's songs were offensive - good to see they will now be banned from being sung (or played) at Highland football matches.... ;-)
  7. Am i correct in saying that only leaves Raven to be signed up for next season?
  8. ....ah but Aberdeen might win by a short head
  9. A 2 year contract offer would be a suitable reward. Would like to see the current back four all signed up as it will allow us to build on current team and grow as a defensive unit.
  10. Very encouraging result on Saturday especially taking into account our SPL record against Hearts. We are back in pole position and all we now need to do is ensure we stay there ;-) I suspect with County's current form and charge up the table there will be a few more through the gates at both grounds for the upcoming games. Win win for both clubs and hopefully there will be a decent attendance for the home game against Utd midweek which now takes on a new level of importance as a win will set us up nicely for the home stretch.
  11. Good stuff - cracking save from Esson.
  12. BACK ON TRACK :-))))
  13. Yip yip yip - 3pts at last and back up to 2nd
  14. To boo or not to boo that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous football Or to take arms against a sea of defeats. Or as Brian once said: When you are feeling in the dumps Don't be silly chumps Just purse your lips and whistle 'Always look on the bright side of life' 'Always look on the light side of life' ....cue the titles Now there's a tune for the next home game ;-)
  15. I do wonder about the substitutions being used at times as injuries aside they do seem to be fairly predictable with no real impact. Maybe the stats will prove me wrong but if you have players on the bench such as Pepper and Polworth that are deemed good enough to be there then why aren't they being used more often especially if it means changing the shape when trying to get something out of a game. Would be interested to see this seasons stats to date to see who are making the most substitution appearances and who are the players that get withdrawn the most.
  16. We could indeed do with a Klose or a Podolski at the moment ;-)
  17. Unfortunately we probably will have to - hopefully at home though ;-)
  18. Well at least you got the 3-0 right ;-)
  19. There are eight games to go until the split: Motherwell (A) 3-0 (L) - 3rd Hearts (A) 2-3 (W) - 2nd Dundee Utd (H) - 0-0 (D) - 3rd Ross County (A) - 0-0 (D) - 3rd Dundee (A) 1-1 (D) - 4th Ross County (H) 2-1 (W) - 3rd Hibs (A) 1-2 (W) - 3rd St. Johnstone (H) It consists of five (5) away games and three (3) home games so Terry won't have too many games to worry about the size of crowds much over that period It is all pretty tight with nine points between 2nd and 11th and only five points between 2nd and 7th. Even though we have had what seems like a really good season so far (look at the teams still below us) there is only a difference of two wins between ourselves and County and we still have to play them twice.... 2nd - ICT - P25 - W9 D11 L5 - 38 PTS (GD +9) 9th - RC - P25 - W7 D11 L7 - 32 PTS (GD -3) The players (and the management) though need to keep it going for (at least) those next eight games to ensure that this does turn out to be our best SPL season ever. I am not sure whether we will still be in 2nd place come the split but I believe we will get a top 6 place. With what appears to be increasing negativity within a number of posts recently how do others really think the team will do?
