  1. If the prices are the same as the North Stand, I will be fully willing to get a season ticket in the south area of the Main Stand if the singing section gets the go ahead in there.

Well that's just it, what exactly has he done recently that deserves praise? Giving Falkirk a goal scoring opportunity when we were in an attacking movement? Holding the ball up in an attacking position, waiting for support only to be moved off the ball by the defender about four or five yards behind him breathing heavily? IMO it's not down to us whether he is successfull (sp?) or not, it's down to him knuckling down and improving vastly. If he dosn't then the only success he'll ever have is with a team playing in 2nd/3rd divisions.
  3. Perhaps so, still dosn't change my opinion of him though. He was playing Highland League football, if he was up to it, why did the tinks not go for him?
  4. I'd like to see that Coakley boy that was released from Motherwell, along with Callum Elliott. Forwards sorted. I'd like to see an attempt to get a season long loan deal with John Kennedy, lastly a goalkeeper would be nice, Ally Ridgers does not make for a comfortable 2nd choice keeper.

Juanjo was from Spain though, I believe players only require work permits to play in Scotland if they are from countries outide of the EU.
  6. Fantastic quote from Gordon Strachan in todays Sun: "Everyone loves a semi at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon"

I will constructively Criticize, I will be bitterly disappointed if we have signed John Sutton. I just don't rate him at all. Not sure about McPake though, I will wait and see about him. *Edited to include: I see Motherwell have axed 10 players including Shaun Fagan, and Adam Coakley. Coakley might just be what we're looking for?

Are you sure you didn't hear the version he prepared for his parents. I doubt that even professional footballers don't train that much!! Sounds like he rather be with his mates hanging round shops than playing football :014: Pro footballers train 5 days a week, their days off include matchday. He is not the sort who "hangs around shops" as you so quickly stereotyped and is more interested in sport career than you might think.

Well this is what I'm getting at. Where are they? They aren't exactly queuing up to get a game for us are they? Youngsters are not pro's and more importantly, they are still physiologically developing, therefore they should not be expected to train more than twice a week. Once a youth reaches 17 then perhaps their training workload should be increased. If the intensity and frequency of training is indeed at the levels I have been told about, then it is no wonder our youth system dosn't produce.

I know a young lad who very recently knocked back an oppertunity to be a member of the U19's squad. Reason being, he reckoned the coaches were being too pushy, they want kids aged 14-19 to train 3-5 times a week, if you fail to turn up to training more than 3 times, your no longer playing for ICT. Now I'm all for encouragement, without that the kids will be useless. If this is the case though, and the coaches and contracts are a little constrictive, then it can only have a detrimental effect on the production of future "Local hero's".

I'd liked to have seen Paatelainen starting. When Wilson got injured, Sutherland would have been a better choice. Bringing on McAllister was completely wrong IMO, the boy has no presence. I'd like to have seen Wood brought on instead of Rory.
  12. Boring game, shocking ref. Goals were well taken, bitterly disappointed that it was Rory and not Markus that was subbed on, Rory was awful.
  13. It's not that the club wouldn't let us have a singing section, IIRC this is an old chestnut and never seems to materialise through lack of interest.
  14. Ah yes, I vaguely remember being subjected to it on various car journeys as a young lad :017: My favourite has to be Flower O' Scotland if anything, just for the sheer potential of experiencing a noisy TCS home crowd.
  15. Which one is Caledonia?
  16. Ok done a wee bit of digging, didn't really take long but there's a song called Scots Wha Hae thats chantable and would sound decent if there was a few of us: Scots, wha hae wi' Wallace bled Scots, wham Bruce has aften led Welcome to your gory bed Or to victory! Now's the day an' now's the hour See the front of battle lour See approach proud Edward's pow'r Chains and slavery! Wha would be a traitor knave? Wha would fill a coward's grave? Wha sae base as be a slave? Let him turn and flee! Wha for Scotland's king an' law Freedom's sword would strongly draw Freeman stand and freeman fa' Let him on wi' me! By oppression's woes and pains By your sons in servile chains We will drain our dearest veins But they shall be free. Lay the proud userpers low! Tyrants fall in ev'ry foe Liberty's in every blow Let us do or dee! Or whats to stop us just using Flower O' Scotland as our anthem? The fact that Liverpool sing "You'll Never Walk Alone" didn't stop Celtic from adopting it... There's plenty advantages to using Flower O' Scotland, everyone knows it, its not the sort of song you'd take lightly, I know when I sing it, I belt it out. Also it has the potential to make the most noise TCS has ever had from its home fans!
  17. Agreed, I tried belting out carefree at the game against Celtic and noone joined in. In fact I think some kid started singing the "Lord of the Dance" that we used to be forced to sing at school :015: My parents used to listen to pish like Tommy Scott, I'm sure there must be something along those lines that relates to the Highlands that we could make an ICT anthem!
  18. :015: :021:
  19. I was at the St Mirren game on the 1st of January in the hospitality bit and noone said a word to me about wearing my ICT shirt and a pair of jeans. We were turfed out at half past 5 after the game.
  20. Should that not be "Amended" :015: So much for a university education! I thought he went to learn how to count squirrels! :015:
  21. The question is what though? There must be someone on here that has a product from "Scotdisk" that contains something easily chantable that relates to the highlands?
  22. Along the lines of an anthem being adopted, I recall a while back, the full version of Highland Cathedral being adopted, but its a bit slow and useless without a full pipe band behind those singing. Liverpools "Liiiiiiiv-er-poooool, Liiiiiiv-er-poooool" was sung a lot at last nights CL game against Barca, easily adaptable into "Innnnnn-ver-neeeeess, Innnnn-ver-neeeeess"
  23. Singing section is a good idea, I'd definately be interested. Is this actually going to materialise for next season though?
  24. Better than CC purely based on my CV on football manager :021:
  25. I'd be a 3
