  6. I really hope they take this opportunity to punish him properly this time. He has flouted the rules and his club have supported or minimised his thuggery many times already this season .... thats not over-exuberance or a rush of blood ... that's a pattern of behaviour. if there is any common sense at the SFA whatsoever then the punishment will be quite stiff and although they cant retrospectively adjust the previous judgments perhaps they can be harsher with this one to compensate. there is no place for this kind of behaviour in our game and I am thoroughly disgusted at both the player and his club for this whole situation. If he were at our club, I would have the same opinion!!!
  7. Think that only applies to league games. BBC have listed Falkirk/Hibs for 3 pm saturday. its a UEFA/FIFA blackout period covers all games. Cup Finals are different because they are typically the only game on that day.
  8. from BBC Website "Dundee United's Nadir Ciftci is facing a two-match suspension after being accused of kicking Celtic's Scott Brown on the head during Sunday's 1-1 draw. The Turk was issued a notice of complaint by the Scottish FA compliance officer for violent conduct during the Scottish Cup quarter-final. Striker Ciftci has until Wednesday to respond to the complaint. He is already suspended for Sunday's Scottish League Cup final between the clubs. If he accepts the ban, Ciftci will also miss the Scottish Cup quarter-final replay against Celtic on 18 March, as well as the following league match against Celtic."
  9. Cup run continues Inverness did just enough as they eased into the semi-finals after beating a resolute Raith Rovers 1-0 thanks to a headed goal just after the hour by Danny Devine from a Greg Tansey corner. The performance was secondary and the aim of the game was to get into the next round. That was achieved without too much hassle, although Inverness tried their best to throw Rovers a lifeline with a couple of loose passes along the defensive line. Man of the Match Danny Williams came closest in a drab first half with a scorching shot that cracked off the bar, and Graeme Shinnie could not convert when through on goal, but that apart, not too much to get excited about. The pace was upped in the second half and Raith were mostly on the back foot, but Inverness struggled to create clear cut chances. The goal came from a deep corner and Devine rose high at the back post to get good power on his header which entered the net via the post for the only goal of the game. Full Time 1-0 Dancing in the streets of Inverness After the horrendous storms of the last few days, few people were expecting a flat calm for this re-scheduled quarter final tie, but that's exactly what we got, thankfully. The Wind had disappeared and the pitch had dried out sufficiently to allow the game to go ahead. Considering the timing of the game and the original postponement, a sizeable away support bolstered an otherwise apathetic home crowd for the tie which saw Inverness kick off and immediately hold the upper hand, taking the game to their Championship opponents. Greg Tansey had the first stab at goal as he curled a ball high and wide as it broke to him some 25 yards out. Inverness' corner count was rising as the half continued, without either side threatening too much although Edward Ofere was unlucky to have a goalward header barged down as we penned Raith into their own quarter. With quarter of an hour gone, Watkins might have done better or have been less greedy as he shot across the face of the goal when a pass would have been more productive. There followed a series of corners and goal attempts by Inverness which should have resulted in the opening goal. Ofere, Williams, Shinnie and the pick of the misses from Raven as he tried to poke a ball towards the goal. Unfortunately, he stabbed it as high as the stand. Ofere was causing problems in the box with his height and he brought a save out of McGurn, then flashed a header just wide as a goal looked imminent. Shinnie then missed the best chance so far after bursting into the box on his wrong foot, the keeper able to block his attempt as he bore down on goal. Williams is coming into his own these days and he unleashed a ferocious shot that smacked the crossbar from long range but that was about the best of the action and Raith held out for their 0-0 at the break. Half Time 0-0 Inverness appeared after the break and straight away there seemed to be more urgency about their play as they attacked the North end. Watkins missed a sitter as he stuck out a foot at a ball in the six yard box, but he lifted it over the bar when it looked easier to score and a minute later he had a header saved under the bar as Raith were pegged back. Draper also had a header saved and the corners were totting up. Rovers replied with a couple of corners of their own but the home defence looked comfortable dealing with them. In the 63rd minute, the home pressure paid off. Tansey whipped a corner to the far post and Devine rose high above his marker to power his header in off the post with McGurn stranded. No more than Inverness deserved really but tough on the Rovers who had denied the Premiership side for over an hour. A second goal would certainly kill the tie off, but Raith dug deep and tried to get back into the game, although the home defence were in no mood to let the lead slip. In truth, Inverness were always a step ahead of their Championship rivals and Raith never did enough to warrant a replay, and after a flurry of subs the game became more fragmented. One of the subs brought some merriment to the North Stand as Tarmo Kink came on for the last fifteen minutes of play. He showed some quick feet and looks like he will do well for us. Watkins, Tansey, and Christie all squandered further half chances and at the other end Ryan Esson had to pluck a last minute header from Conroy away from danger, but Inverness it was that went forward to a Hampden semi with either Dundee United or Celtic. Full Time 1-0 Raith did well in the previous round, but found out that Inverness were a tougher nut to crack and offered little creativity although their defensive qualities were difficult for Inverness to break down. Danny Williams has come good recently and he was a good choice for MotM, and he was ably supported by Danny Devine, Graeme Shinnie and Marley Watkins who got his second wind after the break and worked harder in the last half hour. Ryan Christie will have better days and David Raven got us into bother a couple of times when some poor link play gifted the opportunity for Raith to counter attack. However Meekings and Devine coped with that and at the end of the day we deserved our win and 1-0 flattered Raith somewhat. We haven't seen any official figures for the tie yet, but Raith looked as though they had around 300-350 and the North and Main Stands looked to be half full, so maybe around 2,500 to 3,000 in attendance, but I never counted them and I doubt the accountants did either. 12. I think the SPFL should offer him a one-way plane ticket back to Turkey ! what exactly does he have to do to be taken to task for numerous repeated sneaky tackles or actions. dirty dirty player (would type a different word that I seldom use but this is a family site !)

There are a few reasons Billy still gets listed ..... its a squad list for the season and although he has moved on he was a big part of the season so far. It is also a stats program that covers multiple seasons so we cant just remove a player mid season as that would skew their historical stats. Its not one of the main reasons but there is also the matter of player sponsorship where someone has sponsored a player for the year with the promise of their name(s) being displayed in the programme and website so that info remains. We do keep the stats updated for the club (and also for here) and I normally leave the player stats page up to CaleyD as he makes sure that the club requirements are fulfilled in terms of required content. I have added the transfer comment on the pages.
  14. *cough* Lennon ....*cough* Juanjo ......
  15. I think Willie Gollum and a fair few others would have the same reaction and chalk it off ..... but the rest of the clip is hilarious. He almost sounds like a normal commentator at times then the camera pans round and we get Mr Feckin Bean ! We have had a female ref in the Canadian Championship games 3 times. She was no better and no worse than her male counterparts and I believe she was also involved in the 2012 Olympics and refereed at Wembley !
  16. think you will find that Vancouver lost their opening game on Saturday 1-3 against Toronto . You are right about the other stuff though .... 21000 crowd and nice wankcouver weather ...... As it relates to summer football, I think its overdue in Scotland ... or at least a tweak to the current schedule as CaleyD notes. Some will say (already have) that teams would be competing with summer holidays, but we already compete with Christmas holidays and spending so whats different? Some will argue about World or Euro Cup call ups etc but really, does that affect ICT that much? ... and are there not rules in place to cover an automatic postponement if one of the teams has more than 3 or 4 call ups on a scheduled match day? To me the arguments are about fear of change rather than anything realistic. A portion of January and the entire (short) month of February is typically the worst time in Scotland (and in Toronto for that matter) and yet the SPFL in their wisdom scheduled 11 games for ICT in that time ... which is comparable to how many we will play in March-June or how many we played from September to the end of November. Loading a ton of games into the statistically shittiest weather period of the year is just stupid on the part of administrators .... MLS is a summer league and it works. Its not perfect, but it works. Toronto gets bitter winter weather - we went above 0 for pretty much the first time in 2015 just this past weekend - and we get fairly hot summers normally. MLS pretty much schedules TFC to be away during the opening month of each season to let the cold die down and we make up for it with a few home games in a row later, whereas teams in the hotter areas start with home games when its cooler for them and hit the road when the hottest weather in their state or province hits. Its not perfect, and there are some **** ups in the fixture list but they try to show common sense .... As for call ups ... a lot of MLS players went to the world cup last year and the league took a two week break to cover the group stages then started up again during the knockout phase. again, not perfect, but a reasonable compromise.

  18. Particularly around book shops in Boat of Garten I'm led to believe... Which part of my previous message is unclear as it relates to this topic ?
  19. For the attention of the disciplinary panel .... see 1:31 and 5:08 of the SPFL highlights video. not proven my arse !
  20. Just a reminder to everyone to debate the topic and not to resort to name calling or character assassination. Further instances of this will result in topic closure or in the posters being banned from the thread. this is the only warning.
  21. they are upgrading to a 'mac though ......
  22. One of those sneaky ICT 'dump dwellers' must've pulled the modem out! their desktop lost power ..... and their laptop couldnt get a signal
  23. surely that applies to 'England' too Charles? or are you being selective in conferring the right to be the main FIFA member within the UK on the English FA with the Scots, Welsh and Northern Irish being happy to pick up the scraps from the table? However, you are also fundamentally wrong .... at last count there were 23 non-sovereign 'countries' who were members of FIFA and 7 sovereign ones who are not ! (and before anyone comments on the list below, Gibraltar are not FIFA members, just UEFA) Non-sovereign nations that are current FIFA members American Samoa (USA) Anguilla (UK) Aruba (Netherlands) Bermuda (UK) British Virgin Islands (UK) Cayman Islands (UK) Chinese Taipei (China) Curaçao (Netherlands) England (UK) Faroe Islands (Denmark) Guam (USA) Hong Kong (China) Macau (China) Montserrat (UK) New Caledonia (France) Northern Ireland (UK) Palestine Puerto Rico (USA) Scotland (UK) Tahiti (France) Turks and Caicos Islands (UK) US Virgin Islands (USA) Wales (UK) NON-FIFA members that are associate members of continental Confederations AFC: Northern Mariana Islands CAF: Réunion CONCACAF: French Guyana, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Saint Martin, Sint Maarten OFC: Niue, Kiribati, Tuvalu Sovereign Nations that are not members of FIFA or their continental Confederations Federated States of Micronesia Marshall Islands Monaco Nauru Palau United Kingdom Vatican City
  24. I am in the 'nay' camp too. Scotland, England, Northern Ireland and Wales are all separate entities under FIFA and that's how it should stay. Its nothing political, pro-independence or anti-English from me, just my opinion. I also think comparisons to rugby or other sports are irrelevant and dangerous as for many years Sepp Blatter and those of his ilk in both FIFA and UEFA have been trying desperately to cut the influence and alleged "power" the four home nations have by having these four voices and permanent positions on the executive reduced or removed ..... in Mr Blatter's own words when referencing the idea of a 'British' team for the 2012 Olympics .... "If you start to put together a combined team for the Olympics, the question will automatically come up that there are four different associations so how can they play in one team? If this is the case then why the hell do they have four associations and four votes and their own vice-presidency? This will put into question all the privileges that the British associations have been given by the Congress in 1946."

cheers Sneckboy .... think the 'records' are good up to 2010-11 which is the last time Ian produced a set of official stats for the season and in all honesty when not getting sent these it tends to slip the mind to go in and check everything !!!
