  1. I would sincerely like them to explain to the fans - 80/90% of whom were against this setup - how 10-12 will develop the game of football in Scotland. This is pure and utter bullshit and nothing more than a cash grab by those with their noses already in the trough. It will do nothing to develop the game other than allow TV companies the guarantee of 4 old firm fixtures per year. If our club, who were quite vociferous in saying they were against this idea have capitulated, I will be very disappointed.
  2. Jonny Hayes is up for Goal of the Month you can vote HERE
  3. I dont think fans voting for Hayes are being 'fickle' or turning on Adam but in some cases it may indeed be the "coping mechanism" referred to. Many seem resigned to losing Adam, and if it helps them cope better by thinking Jonny will be our saviour then fair play to them. I have said in numerous threads that I would love Rooney to stay at ICT for as long as we can keep him (and I mean it) but given a poll choice of only two options, and no option to say "neither, everyone is important" I also voted for Hayes. My reason for voting for Hayes is nothing to do with "coping" and everything to do with the roles within the team ..... How many good goalscorers have we had over the years ? Wyness, Stewart, Ritchie, McLean, Thompson, Dargo, even Brewster ..... compare that to how many effective and exciting wingers we have had ..... Wilson & Robson .... any others? Hayes is an exciting midfielder who can make things happen. Rooney is a striker who can score goals, both are extremely important and without either one of them we are in trouble but the bottom line is that difficult though it will be to replace a striker who has scored 46 in just over 100 appearances, it can be done, but our own history shows it has been harder to replace a good winger.
  4. The postscript on this story seems to be that Celtic wanted him on a short loan (until end of March) but Toronto FC said NO. New TFC coach Aron Winter wants his club captain front and centre when pre-season training begins tomorrow.
  5. 0-0 V County at Victoria Park? Not sure though You are correct .... http://stats.caleythistleonline.com/matches.php choose ALL for seasons, and LEAGUE for games and you will see it ....
  6. holy sheet ...... Esson keeps us in it from Sutton ... we need to get up the other end of the park. Rooney sounds uninterested, wonder if his mind is elsewhere?
  7. Aberdeen now 2 up
  8. shhhhhhhhh, you'll wake us up !
  9. Motherwell and ICT fought it out at Fir Park but neither could score and 0-0 was the final score. The first half belonged to ICT but Motherwell can claim ownership of the second so the outcome was probably what both teams deserved. 15th January 2011 Fir Park, Motherwell MOTHERWELL 0 - TEAM: Randolph, Hutchinson, Craigan, Hammell, Hateley, Humphrey, Jennings, Lasley (Meechan 74), Forbes (Casagolda 80), Murphy, Sutton SUBS: Hollis, Page, Charalambous, Pollock, McHugh - Booked: Craigan (69) INVERNESS CT 0 - TEAM: Esson, Tokely, Innes, Munro, Shinnie, Duncan (Sanchez 81), Ross, Duff, Sutherland, Foran, Rooney (Odhiambo 89) SUBS: Tuffey, Proctor, Golabek, McBain, Blumenshtein - Booked: Duncan (70) Referee Euan Norris Attendance 3728 Motherwell and Inverness Caledonian Thistle played out a scoreless Scottish Premier League stalemate at Fir Park. Inverness had the better of the first half, with Adam Rooney and Graeme Shinnie having efforts saved by goalkeeper Darren Randolph. Motherwell, playing without Sheffield Wednesday-bound Mark Reynolds, came close through Jamie Murphy. Richie Foran missed a good chance for the visitors before Well's John Sutton had an effort saved by Ryan Esson. Motherwell remain sixth, three points behind Inverness, and Stuart McCall's wait for a first Scottish Premier League win continues, with his new side having only scored in the Scottish Cup under his tenure so far. The wet and wintry conditions were not conducive to fluent football and there were few chances created in the opening period. Referee Euan Norris awarded the visitors a free-kick after Ross Forbes handled on the edge of the box, with the visitors appealing in vain for a penalty. And, as the first half drew to a close, Inverness began to impose themselves on the match. Rooney beat the offside trap to latch on to Foran's pass and fired a shot down into the turf, but - as the ball looped up towards goal - Randolph palmed away. Randolph came to his side's rescue again twice in quick succession, blocking efforts by Rooney and Shinnie after Motherwell had come under pressure at a set play. Ross Tokely was next to have an effort at the Motherwell goal after picking up a loose ball, but the defender's left-foot volley spun wide. The first half closed with referee Norris waving away claims of a handball against Foran in the Inverness box. Having struggled to create openings before the break, Motherwell began the second half on the front foot and Murphy tested Inverness goalkeeper Ryan Esson from distance. Murphy continued to pose a threat and turned Chris Innes before dragging a shot wide of Esson's goal. Forbes could not make the crucial connection at the back post after Chris Humphrey's teasing cross had evaded two Motherwell players in the box. A slip by Shaun Hutchinson allowed Foran a run at goal, but - with only Randolph to beat - the former Motherwell player shot wide. Foran had another effort saved by Randolph before Sutton almost put the hosts ahead. Esson got a hand to Sutton's shot and then recovered to claim the ball at the second attempt before it crossed the goal-line. Motherwell substitute Steven Meechan could not keep his effort down after coming on for Keith Lasley as the match petered out.
  10. No Mark Reynolds for Motherwell today ... on his way to Sheffield Wednesday to discuss a transfer.

  12. Its not there. wasnt supplied to me. different media rights for cup than league AFAIK.
  13. Our Motherwell preview is now online .... TM4TJ gives us the preamble and GingerJaggy provides his views on how the match will go ..... http://caleythistleonline.com/3312-motherwell-v-inverness-ct-preview-2
  14. as posted multiple times on here in the last couple of months ... the highlights are no longer added to that page they are instead added to a dedicated video section on the club shop page at ictfc.com. Hopefully the club will amend that page to say so sometime in the not too distant future. Highlights do require registration but registration is free
  15. Its been picked up elsewhere .... but whether the report is true or just a hoax is up to you to decide. http://www.sportingo.com/football/a17705_inter-milan-make-shock-move-rooney On another note ... John Rooney (the younger brother of Wayne) has just signed for New York Red Bulls
  16. Wonder whether the rocky start to the trial blew his chance or whether he just did not impress ? Either way, he will likely get a frosty reception back in Toronto ... its -10 here right now, the fans are split on this debacle and no-one knows what new headcoach, Aron Winter, named while DeRo was in Glasgow thinks of it all http://sport.stv.tv/football/scottish-premier/celtic/220478-no-celtic-loan-move-for-de-rosario/
  17. Paul Cherry got a fair few if I recall and he was definitely what you might call a 'no nonsense' type of player. If we ever get our own stats program up to date we will be able to compare Rossco and others that went before (or after) him. The stats just caught my eye today as I recall one or two of the pundits labelling us as cloggers in the past and this doesnt support the theory.
  18. email [email protected] or as suggested PM the user called ICT_Shop on here (although there is no guarantee she will read it before then)
  19. yup - Tokes is our top offender with 5 yellows in the league .... and I was thinking that very thing when typing this thread
  20. but if the offer was 100K we would end up with only 60K after Stoke's cut ... my assumption or hypothesis was based on us receiving 100K clear after all parties have taken their cut. that would require a bid of 167K. that is probably the most accurate thing in this thread so far ! Guess we just have to wait and see .... everything else is just hope, speculation or rumour
  21. Was checking the SPL website earlier for something else and looked at the stats ..... Seems ICT are the only SPL side not to have had anyone see red this season and are equal with Motherwell and Rangers for the lowest total of yellows ..... seems St Mirren (and Aberdeen) are the cloggers this year !!! Yellows St Mirren 41 Hearts 38 Aberdeen 37 Hamilton 37 St Johnstone 37 Kilmarnock 34 Hibernian 33 Celtic 32 Dundee Utd 32 Inverness CT 28 Motherwell 28 Rangers 28 Reds Aberdeen 4 Hibernian 4 St Mirren 3 Celtic 3 St Johnstone 2 Motherwell 2 Kilmarnock 2 Rangers 1 Dundee Utd 1 Hamilton 1 Hearts 1 Inverness CT 0
  22. Think that sounds about right .... ?50k paid .... so a valuation of ?167k less Stoke's 40% (?66,800) would leave ICT with a couple of hundred quid over ?100k which is what it seems Butchers indicates we would be looking for. Dont think that is unreasonable for someone at the top end of the SPL scoring charts and who has scored 46 in a little over 100 games (albeit many were outside the top flight). Still holding out hope he might stay but with every passing day that hope fades
  23. I hope that whatever he decides, he decides it based on good advice ..... As fans of ICT we are biased and would love him to stay at ICT for his whole career (if he can keep banging the goals in) and then as he is getting a bit long in the tooth we would be saying its time to get rid ..... Others - agents, other clubs perhaps, will be saying to him the grass is greener and he has to move when he is young, maximise his potential and earnings and as a by-product earn them a bit of money. Here's hoping he has some sensible folk around him, family members, trusted friends etc who will tell him to decide what is best for him, when it is best for him. Personally, I would like to see him sign on at ICT for another 1-2 years, continue developing under TB and alongside the likes of Foran and Hayes and then, with his reputation enhanced opt for a decent money move to a side in England. Whatever he does, I will wish him well, he was a big part of our bouncebackability campaign and gets two thumbs up for that alone !
  24. Please note - players can also go to "My Missing Predictions" to see a list of all games they have not yet predicted a scoreline for. Otherwise you need to go by week number (which in the screenshots is the column to the left of the dates) http://predictions.caleythistleonline.com/index.php?cmd=missingpreds
