The pitch is now snow-free after a massive Caley Jags clearup operation. An operation to clear the snow from the pitch is underway as Caley Thistle confidence grows that Saturday's game with Rangers will go on as scheduled at Inverness . Kenny Cameron, the club's operations director, said on Thursday morning: "We've decided to remove the snow off the playing surface today because if we let it melt, the pitch might be too sodden. So staff and volunteers started work at 9 am and the snow will be off today. "There is now no reason to postpone the fixture and everyone's looking forward to us getting back into action against the SPL champions. The match is on Sky TV and Sky personnel arrived at the stadium today and say there is no problem with the A9, so everything's good to go -- though it'll be a bit cooler than Turkey for the Rangers team! "There are still home tickets available from the stadium -- indeed, we've had people who've travelled from Skye in to make sure of their briefs." The news was a boost for manager Terry Butcher and his players, desperate to resume after last week's postponement.
  3. it will replace it
  4. The signup will NOT ask for any card details. The site is primarily the club shop so in addition to the general login details - username, email, password - it will also ask for name, address, telephone number. This is for your customer account only and would only be used if you actively made a purchase in the shop. To answer your questions, the videos are behind the registration wall but NO PAYMENT is required to watch them, just registration, and yes, all the videos from last season as well as this season are already there for viewing. On the subject of entering personal details, as well as card details (where it is actually requested), the following applies. 1. The entire site is protected by a secure certificate so each URL you see will have the https:// prefix. All information entered anywhere on the site is encrypted and secure. 2. The only place you will be asked for payment information - card number etc - is on the payment screen for the shop. This is handled by a payment processor, in this case SAGEPAY, and neither the site, nor the club receive or store your credit card information.
  5. think we still have that pic on here somewhere ,,,,,,,, how much to keep the link supressed ?
  6. I am assuming you mean when clicking on this icon ??? Thats not the one !!! .... look below the text box and you should see this ..... click browse to browse your computer and select a file then click "attach this file" to attach it to the post. If you do nothing else, it will appear in your post as an attachment at the end. However, if you want to show it somewhere in the post you can move your cursor there and click the "add to post" button that appears after you uploaded a pic. If you do not see the upload pic buttons, then you may be in the 'fast reply' box .... again, looking below the text box you should see some options, one of these is to "use full editor" ... click it and the upload options should now be present below the text box.
  7. below the box where you are typing there is an attachment box (unless using fast reply in which case there will be a button that says 'use full editor'. click that to load the full reply box and it will be there). the attachment box will allow you to browse to a file and then "attach this file" to this thread. When attached, it also gives you the option to insert into post .......
  8. This was hanging in my local bar in Toronto for a few years ..... until they turned it into a Starbucks !!! Now its in my basement and will be on my wall when I get round to putting it inside a shadowbox. Its an actual shirt from the Feb 8th 2000 game .... and before anyone says 'hey wait a minute, we were sponsored by Scotrail at that point', the reason it has a Sharp logo on it is because ICT also wore the exact same shirts in the Hearts cup game at Tynecastle a couple of seasons later ... we switched from our red/blue vertical stripes as it was thought to clash with Herts' maroon .... so this top has been on the park at two of ICT's famous victories ....
  9. or McGhee to Motherwell .........

  15. Not much into Ice Hockey but fair play to them for trying to cross-market !!! Charles, the Americans tend to hate hockey as much as you hate American style sports ..... or they at least ignore it in many cities !!! Ice Hockey is very much down the list of American favourite sports when they have NFL, NBA, and MLB to cheer for first. However it is Canada's unofficial national sport (officially Lacrosse is the national sport) and the roots of the game, as well as the "big" teams in terms of support if not necessarily championships tend to be north of the border. The Maple Leafs, Canadiens, Senators, Flames, Oilers, Canucks ... all based up here.

nahh, let the manager of the nightclub he was supposed to appear at sue him for breach of contract and let him 'prove' his accusations !!! He has besmirched our good name, but taking it any further would only give the Juan Kerr the attention he craves so fervently ...... besides, now that he has seen fit to take our name in vain, the curse will befall him
  17. Thundercats or X-Men ??? [sorry, no idea why, it just popped into my head when trying to think of a stupid question]
  18. Confirmed that Nick has now signed a 2? year deal http://caleythistleonline.com/3013-nick-nabbed

[caption id="attachment_3019" align="alignleft" width="210" caption="Nick Ross (click to enlarge)"][/caption] Nick Ross has signed up to play his part in Caley Jags' future Terry Butcher has been handed an early Christmas prezzy -- in the shape of teenage midfielder Nick Ross putting pen to paper on a new two and a half year contract. The 19 year old Inverness lad, who has seized his chance in style this season, has signed a deal tying him to Caley Jags until the end of season 2012-13. Butcher commented:"We'd made Nick the offer and were very hopeful he'd accept but it is reassuring to have the contract agreed and signed. He has come through the youth development ranks at this club and when given the opportunity the lad has made it impossible so far to leave him out of the first team. "After the frustration of the Dundee United game being postponed, it is nice to have good news for a change. Nick is a good type, always ready to learn, and he has a very exciting future at this club." Scotland under-21s manager Billy Stark also has Ross firmly in his plans for the 2011 campaign after his scoring debut against Northern Ireland last month.
  20. I think its a damned if you do, damned if you dont situation... The SPL called it off on Tuesday ...4 days before the game. As noted by some in this thread, that might have allowed some folk to cancel travel plans and/or save on money spent on bus/rail/plane tickets. For others, they are not so lucky and yes it is frustrating, especially if the roads and the weather end up being OK for the weekend. but its a judgement call and one which will never please everyone. I saw AndyCAM's video of last week's journey and as TB correctly pointed out last night, we seem to be expected to make the journey in all weathers, but others are not so that just compounds it ! For the USH, as CaleyD has stated, clubs are required to have it on for 72 hours before the game if conditions dictate so by definition, if the SPL are going to call the games off, then it is only fair that they give clubs as much notice as possible. In the eyes of the SPL they probably think they have given the clubs an extra day so they wont have to turn the system on and thus prevent them 'burning money'. On the downside, it doesnt take account of clubs who may have it on low as CaleyD mentioned or who may need to leave it on to try and make sure a potential midweek game would go ahead. I remember Tommy moaning to me about the USH and quite literally, he said that the best pitch protection system was nature itself. On dodgy weather weeks he always hopes for a light blanket of snow to cover the pitch as this insulates it from the worst of weather conditions and is easy enoough to clear (assuming it hasnt turned into ice). USH is a joke and should be replaced by "adequate pitch protection" many of which can be cheaper to run and far better for the environment than running a generator non-stop for several days.

Maybe this t*** can be the next Doctor Who ? .... We are already asking Mark Who? so he must be related, and given his ability to seemingly bend time so he can be on a train at Queen St at 5:40 (at the earliest), a Glasgow hospital on a Saturday evening having his father's hand looked at (no waiting time there for an injury of that magnitude of course !!!), and then the airport to catch the last flight to London at 7:30 (with check-in closing 30 minutes earlier), and then at some crappy club in Essex later that evening .... there can be no-one else. and thats before we even mention the wooden props and cardboard sets that mimic the others in the cast of his reality show. definite Juan Kerr
  22. I hear you Alex, but there is always more that can be done. School visits, youth clubs, anything really that engages youth outside of the school holidays or when they are at the stadium. Youth is our future both on and off the park and if we dont grab them then the forces of darkness or the dinginess of dingwall will !!!! It was mentioned on another thread about my fondness for Celtic prior to the formation of ICT. That fondness was fostered in just such a way ..... In my youth (pre-teen years), like many families we took the odd week at 'Butlitz' in Ayr. It was great fun, but the highlight of the week for me was taking part in the daily 5-a-side football coaching sessions. On two occasions I got picked in the "team of the week" and even won a free week to come back and see if I could get into the "team of the year". Every kid selected for these teams got to play in an exhibition match at the end of the week and the big draw was that a real life professional footballer would captain one of the sides while the coach would captain the other .... Celtic had the contract with Butlins and I got to take to the park with both Roy Aitken (not yet a first team regular at that point and sporting his "shirley" haircut) at the end of one week, and with Bobby Lennox in the Team of the Year game later that summer .... an allegiance to one side in the senior leagues was then born and that was only broken when ICT came along and I realised I had no real reason for supporting a Glasgow team other than thinking it was cool that I got to take to the pitch with a future Scotland captain and another player from a legendary era in the team's history .....
  23. I believe it was because he was told that his shoulder was knackered and that any further injury to it could give him serious problems.
  24. Billy Stark odds-on favourite according to McBookie.com Terry at 6/1, Brewster not quoted although the HN says other bookies make him 16/1
  25. I havent been following this - or the scandals - that closely, and looking just at the countries involved I would have to pick Russia or Belgium/Holland for 2018 and Australia or Qatar for 2022 for 2018 - Neither Russia nor Belgium/Holland has hosted before and at least two of those three countries have been up there at or near the top end of the table of world football on one or more occasions. I am leaning towards Russia. for 2022 - I would eliminate 3 of the 5 immediately as they have all hosted previously. The Yanks are probably best placed to host it in terms of being able to stage massive events and the slow burning but definite growth of MLS in recent years shows 'soccer' is alive and well over here but its too soon to give it to them again. We just did the first one in Africa, we have done North America, South America, Europe and the Far East, so now its perhaps the turn of Oceania or the Middle East. Qatar is a western ally but its bid might hinge on the stability of the region so for that reason, and because the aussies also know how to put on an event, I am going for them. thinking about it ... in two world cups, we might be able to eradicate the hooliganism problems emanating from various countries .... in 2018 we can send them to the Gulags, and whoever is left for 2022 (with apologies to our users from there) can be shipped to the colonies 2018 bids Belgium and the Netherlands England (hosts in 1966) Portugal and Spain (hosts in 1982) Russia 2022 bids Australia Japan (joint hosts in 2002) Qatar South Korea (joint hosts in 2002) United States (hosts in 1994)
