Countdown to Hampden (v Falkirk)
Somehow my feed was from 'viaplay'. No cutting out, no lag, and no problems. very enjoyable watch with my (early) morning coffee. Saved the drams for later when book ending my day with a Toronto FC win against NYC FC.

Think he would love it even more if we can win the next game ...

Countdown to Hampden (v Falkirk)
Good game. Was worried until the penalty award as Falkirk started well, but after that it turned our way. Daniel MacKay's header was a great one and the third goal from Billy was taken very well. Apart from Ridgers' moment of madness, which he made up for with solid stopping on the few occasions he was called into action, Falkirk didn't look likely to score. Still dont know how the second Shaw attempt that hit the post stayed out. Thought it would hit the inside of the other post and in to make it 0-4 but that's football for you. Welsh and Allardice solid in the middle. Lots of positives today.

Good solid signal here in Toronto. Think I woke up the neighbours when the second goal went in though 🙂

AGM… any more news?
These two items are of concern to me. No regard for local businesses who will take a long time - if ever - to forgive the club and trust them with any business dealings, and then apparently no idea about the disconnect with fans despite there being plenty of evidence of this all-over social media, this forum, and elsewhere. Treating the trust like something on the bottom of your shoe is also not cool. They may not think that any one group represents all of the fans, and that is true... but when you manage to discount, trivialise, and look down their noses at all the groups at once then its a recipe for disaster and a far wider spectrum of users than they may think. Its all well and good that we have a cup semi tomorrow and we have been on an upward trend in the league but let's not forget it was not that long ago we were at the wrong end of the table, looking at the other end of the playoffs and were OUT of this same cup. Fortune favours the brave and lets hope we are very brave in these next few weeks, but we are still unfortunately papering over the cracks on and off the field.

The Invincibles
noticed that. Also see a couple of other faces in the white shirts who i recognise from school - Donald MacDonald in front of his brother John, think Claude is in front row as well and a couple of others i recognise but cant place names at the moment.

The Invincibles
Even canyon would only have been 15 or 16 in 1982. Was in my year at the High School along with Billy Skinner and a few others who were great footballers.

Bill McAllister - RIP
Another north football legend, this time in the field of journalism, has departed us. Most will recognise the name Bill McAllister, from local journalism, especially his eloquent and flowery descriptions of Highland League football which carried on into the after-dinner circuit and to his column in the Courier. If you didn't know him, then you may have unknowingly heard him on the radio describing those games for the BBC in their Saturday Highland Leage roundup. He was tightly linked to ICT over the years being a friend to many at the club over the years and also working as media officer under a couple of different chairmen. According to the courier, he took ill recently and passed away today. https://www.inverness-courier.co.uk/news/highland-media-giant-bill-mcallister-dies-311327/ I have a few good memories with Bill, but I think one of the best comes from the Caledonian Stadium on a day where a few of the internet supporters were guests of then chairman David Sutherland. Bill was there too, and as 4:45pm approached he phoned local reporters on the ground at various HL parks and wrote his report for the BBC right there in hospitality. He ad-libbed his flowery descriptions while on the phone to the BBC and then came back to the table. Pretty impressive how he put it together in just a few minutes. A master craftsman at work. Condolences to Bet and the family.

Tommy Cumming - RIP
Just read on courier website that groundsman extraordinaire Tommy Cumming has passed away. Very sad news. A definite character who kept our pitch in perfect condition for years. Had many interesting conversations with him over the years. (just dont mention undersoil heating!!!) . I have one specific memory of him being very nice to my son when he first visited the stadium ... giving him permission to ignore the 'keep off the grass' sign and walking with him on the pitch, then giving me a row when i followed ... my son loved it and I knew he was on the wind-up (i think). Team will wear black armbands this weekend and observe a minute of applause. Definitely merited for the huge contribution he made to our club. Condolences to his loved ones. RIP Tommy, you will be missed. https://www.inverness-courier.co.uk/sport/tributes-paid-to-inverness-caledonian-thistle-groundsman-who-311070/ https://ictfc.com/tribute-to-tommy-cumming/

AGM… any more news?
Anyone received the typical AGM package - accounts etc? I know nothing arrived here last AGM and wondering if they will once again not send anything out this time around?

I will likely require a proxy 🙂 . Typically @CaleyD has gone on my behalf but not sure if he plans to go to this one or not.

One club with three histories
Possibly a controversial opinion but IMHO: (Caley + Thistle) > Caley or Thistle in terms of the progress the combined teams have achieved in the last 29 years. Non-League to premiership in 10 seasons Scottish Cup winners in 20 seasons Into Europe by our 21st birthday. If we had been able to go it alone then I believe both Caley and Thistle would have progressed, but County (had they got in) would have eclipsed us thanks to the financial help from Uncle Roy. It has taken the combined efforts of football people from both parent clubs, as well as sponsorship and governance from business and benefactors of both. Had both clubs gone it alone then that would have been fragmented, the stadium would not have happened, and the central belters would have found a(nother) reason to keep us out, or at best, down in the lower leagues which might have been the natural level for either or both. Together we are stronger, have forged our own new history as a combined club, alongside the history - not to be forgotten - of the parent clubs that pre-dated ICT. I say that as a Caley man who lived in Dalneigh and would go to Telford Street on a semi-regular basis, work and money permitting.

Away Shirt 22/23 Out of Stock
They really should use the term "limited run" rather than bespoke. A football top does not fit the definition of 'bespoke'. The trend is to use that word nowadays to imply exclusivity or artisan crafts and that doesn't fit here!

Ian Manning RIP

RIP Eric
I did not know Eric, but ever since TM4TJ brought him and IBM on to help with the stats and other background tasks, it has been great. His input and effort getting us up to date, was immense even though he was unwell. It speaks volumes about someone's character when they offer to do this type of unsung work and are happy to stay in the background and just offer assistance without any fanfare. I am also absolutely blown away that in the midst of his illness, he was still thinking of doing updates from the hospice. My sincere gratitude goes to Eric for all he did, and my condolences go out to his family and friends in their sad loss. 🙏

Matchday Experience Survey
This I agree with... a run of 10 straight wins and the responses would be less on the negative side than you will likely get right now...
-
Matchday Experience Survey
Obviously didn't fill in the form as I only attend one or two games every year or maybe every other year on trips across the pond, but I did read through the questions and agree they seem reasonable enough. As someone has said, you could ask only 2 questions, but then you would only get two answers. For this questionnaire, it seems a bit more in depth and may highlight areas of concern that were previously disregarded or thought as not an annoyance for many fans. That will allow the trust to focus on those areas with the club (assuming a dialogue is open and in place). Whether the club listen or not is a different subject and question, but the survey results would hopefully give a substantial set of data to build things on if they do. (that and a few wins of course!)

Such is the apathy...
Its alright, with so much apathy around, no-one will read it 🙂
