  1. My own opinion - and this is without any of my usual guff, garbage, or any dissection of how good/bad his performances have been - is that he simply has to walk away, and he needs to do that today. He has walked away before, but this time he would do it with our blessing !!! It is clearly not working and Inverness Caledonian Thistle is too important to all of us to let this continue. Mr Brewster, please go, and go now !
  2. HT Report on BBC says that 4 of the 5 goals were defensive errors (2 at least creditable to Proctor who played Miller onside and gave away the penalty) ..... ICT described as HORRENDOUSLY POOR
  3. Fraser's spill was shocking. It should have been caught. The second goal was not offside, Proctor played him on (according to Chick who had initially called it offside but spoke to other journos or perhaps 4th official). We are losing 4-0 because we have no clue, no heart, and no idea. Time to clean house I am afraid.
  4. When Chick Young describes your team as a SHAMBLES .... and is CORRECT, then it is time for a few people to look inwards and seriously consider their future .....

  10. Brewster cant win .... whether he questions the referee's decision or not he seems damned. I'm with Dalneigh Caley on this one ... I am also not his biggest fan, but questioning what appears to be blatant decisions is what we expect of him and I would feel more annoyed if he had not questioned it. It also seems the players were raging too and that makes me wonder why they couldnt get fired up for the second half and take their frustrations out on Falkirk. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/football/spl/...86908-20856640/
  11. Agree with this also, and before anyone starts, this is not a Rory-bashing post. It is quite clear he has "something". I have had conversations with various people, including people at the club and most rate him highly. He has also been picked for International squads below the first team so others must see something too. The frustrating thing (for me and also from many I have spoken to) seems to be that he can go and destroy people in the reserves but is totally different when making the step up to the first team. We often comment about how ICT can resurrect careers of certain players or how some players seem to do well at one club but fail at another. Perhaps Rory is one of these but in reverse. Perhaps ICT is not the club for him and he would flourish at another club ..... just a thought. As for Wood, I will have to rely on others' better judgement as I havent really seen him. He is another who seems to have something and if he were to go on loan, then perhaps after serving his time at Montrose, he now needs to step up to a 1st division side on loan bfore coming back to ICT in the SPL ....
  12. Caley Thistle have just released a new line in the club shop in time for Xmas .... The David Somers Dartboard Interesting to note that the refereee is now basically calling the Caley Thistle players liars !!http://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/Article.aspx/914317 I said it but there's no way you can prove it and I am not going to make myself look like a bigger **** by admitting it
  13. Thats good. let him get experience at Dundee before he one day takes over at ICT

    BBC Alba

They filmed in the Innes ? That would be worthy of viewing.
  15. Deuchar is playing for Real Salt Lake in Utah not in Toronto.
  16. So would it be right, in that case, for us to have gone for Gerrard, Beckham etc before England got them? British passport holders living in Britian. Totally different. If you are a British citizen by birth then you qualify to play for one (or more) of the home countries based on their individual criteria. Beckham, Gerrard, Rooney et all would not be eligible for Scotland (more's the pity). However, is it not the case that someone awarded citizenship after naturalisation or immigration is eligible to play for any of the home countries because they are now a British citizen and can choose which country to play for if selected. [wasnt there some talk about Matt Le Tissier a few years back in a similar vein?] Personally, I regard Novo as more Scottish than some in the national team ... c'mon, he started his Scottish career in Kirkcaldy FFS, he needs some reward !!!!! If he would play for the jersey (which I think he would) then I dont see why he should not be eligible for selection. Other countries do it and lets face it, Scotland is not exactly producing too many world beaters these days.
  17. Am sure that if they get asked for other stuff they might oblige. It would be a simple matter of the club supplying what people are asking for. Its not ideal, a section inside someone else's premises never is, but its a big step in the right direction.
  18. Don't shoot the messenger ...... Its a new shop for ICT and according to the blurb we were sent "ZOO clothing, a popular independently owned retail store have teamed up with Caley Thistle for the opening of their 2nd store in Eastgate shopping centre, Inverness. The new store situated just along from Next will stock a complete range of Caley Thistle merchanise and will give shoppers an alternative for Christmas present buying".
  19. The club will be selling merchandise in Eastgate from this week onwards. Darren supplied us with the story now on the front page of the site: http://caleythistleonline.com/ Excellent news and something we CAN be positive about.
  20. 1. Duff - 6' 2" McGuire 5' 11" Munro 6' 1 " 2. Bayne played 78 games and scored 15 goals in his time with us between 04 and 08 3. Marius played 35 and scored 8 The www is a wonderful thing you lazy barsteward. 1. Won't argue, don't know 2. Bayne played 89 games + 44 sub appearances for a total of 133. According to our stats he scored 20 goals but Ian Broadfoot's say 21 so I will stick my neck out and say 21 is correct. I just need to find out where we missed one !!! http://stats.caleythistleonline.com/player.php?id=9 3 Marius played 35 + 3 as sub for a total of 38. Scored 10. http://stats.caleythistleonline.com/player.php?id=142

    Snow

Spoke too soon .... we got a dusting last night, about an inch on the car this morning but nothing on the ground .... must have melted. As Glebe mentioned, Ottawa seems to have got the worst with a 15-25 cm dump in that area.
  22. At the end of the day we have to put our chances away and we are not doing that. Yes, the ref was, by all accounts, very bad, and the 4th official supposedly said McCann was offside and the ref apologised for not awarding the penalty but those are the breaks. If we took our chances we would be talking about a good victory today. The goal came in the first half. If Brewster was so incensed, why did he not do what some other managers seem to do and jangle the players' sense of injustice to fire them up for the second half? "Right lads, the ref's a ****, he's ***te, and we are gonna get nothing. Lets show this ******* we can win it despite him" .... Its similar to what Pele supposedly said/did about the bookies when we were 18/1 going into the Celtic match in 2000 and we all know how that ended up. Rooney, Barrowman and Wood all have great potential but we are sorely lacking experience up front and that is a management decision. Regardless of what we think of Brew as a manager, I think we all accept that as a striker he was probably one of the best not to have pulled on a Scotland shirt so it makes me wonder how a man of his experience (and striking ability) cannot see this. I actually quite like the idea of someone like Kenny Deuchar on a short term deal until MLS starts up again in April. It might give the young guys a chance to blossom alongside someone who is similar to Brewster in poaching/striking abilities. I cant see it happening though as part of Deuchar's deal with MLS was being able to practice medicine in the States .... he likely has off-field responsibilities on that front. I totally agree about the concentration thing and highlighted it somewhere else. I have seen the team twice in 2008 and on both occasions the results were great, the performance at times sublime, and I ended the day with a huge smile on my face. On other weeks we seem to implode and put in insipid performances unless we are playing one of the OF. Just like the stewarding, we seem to have no consistency. That too is a management or coaching issue. Of course the players have to take some blame, but it is the manager's job to coach those players, to motivate them to be "up" for games, to set tactics that will hopefully bag us three points, and to have the balls to change those tactics or gee up the players if things are not going well. I don't believe that has been done in some of our more inconsistent games. We are all great armchair managers and each and every one of us would probably do far worse than Brew. We can talk a good game, and we know what we would like to see, but very few of us could carry that through onto the training pitches or the dugout. We should be working on set plays constantly. Free-Kicks, Corners, Attacking throw-ins etc .... IMHO, if we could score from set plays when we are struggling to score from open play, we would likely be several spots higher in the table
  23. Relegation would be a financial disaster for the club and even with the parachute payments it would still be extremely tough. You just need to look at who has gone down in recent years and how many of them bounced straight back .... not many eh? The first division, is, in my opinion, the hardest division to get out of. You have many teams who can win it, and its usually pretty tight. A good team from one season can suddenly become relegation fodder the next, or vice versa. Just look at QOS, struggling to avoid relegation for the last couple of seasons, they have not made huge changes yet are proudly sitting atop the division this season. St Johnstone, Dunfermline, Livingston, Partick, Dundee ... all former Premier League teams, and County, Clyde, Airdrie and Morton all have their own pedigrees. Dundee could be in danger of relegation and I think we could all concede that many of these teams just a few years ago would easily be regarded as far "bigger" than ICT. I certainly do not class Dundee as a Div2 team ... The "pros" of Div 1 are certainly there. More competitive games, more competitive league, terracing, lower ticket costs, etc but there are also a lot of "cons". Huge drop in revenue from the league and from advertisers and sponsors, leading to lower wage budget, leading to having to offload some players and replace with "lesser" players. Less or no media coverage on BBC via live text or audio commentaries, less interest all round basically. As much as we moan at the SPL, I agree with those that say it is the only place to be. We have to fight hard to maintain our position in the country's top league, anything else should be seen as the same nostalgic folly that we point out when former Caley or Thistle supporters come on here and talk of life in the Highland League. Yes it was fun, yes it brings good memories, but memories don't pay the bills and you have to move on. ICT have moved on (and up) and we have to try and make sure we do not take that step back. I agree that the SPL is predictable in many respects, especially with regards to knowing which teams are likely to finish in the top two spots. I don't have the answer, but I would like to see Scottish football re-organised in some fashion so that it is a better product. Perhaps an expanded SPL without the OF, and regional leagues/pyramid system below the top two divisions - much like Sweden. or maybe we need to 'handicap' the OF in some way so that the league gets more competitive. We certainly need to drag some teams up by the bootstraps and remind them that although Football is a business, it is also supposed to be entertainment ....
