depends on what the player, his agent, and Celtic agreed to at the time ... we can ask for whatever clauses we like, its whats agreed by all parties thats relevant. Even if it emerges in future that there wasn't one, that doesn't automatically make the club culpable ... I do however hope they aimed high with this one as it was clear very early that Ryan could go a lot further and higher and he has.
  3. Hockey in Toronto can be several hundred $$$ per game ... Its the only (major) sport we haven't taken our son to so far. We simply cannot and will not justify almost $1000 for a single night out. Its actually cheaper for people in Toronto to drive to Ottawa/Montreal/Buffalo or in some cases to buy a cheap flight to Florida than it is to buy a ticket to see the Toronto Maple Leafs !!! Thats what we are looking at doing in 2020 for him so he can complete the set. The reason for this is primarily that 90% of the stadium/arena is filled with corporate season ticket holders who can write off the cost in their taxes. I think the same is probably true in many football stadiums across Europe, especially those of the more succesful teams with those insane wages that some players get .....

Whilst we dont have any scripts that detect and then present a message when ad blockers are used, we do rely heavily on our advertisements to finance the site costs each year (hosting on VPS, software maintenance, domain names, 3rd party extensions, etc.) so would prefer users not to use them if possible. Even when ads are not clicked, we do rack up smaller amounts based on the number of times they are shown (impressions). When ad-blockers are used, the impressions get lower. We do have an ad-free option of the site where users can pay a small sum to become site sponsors and have all ads removed at source. seems to work well for those who use it.

ok, initial scans show that we do not appear to have any sketchy files on the site (ie. any files that were injected or had contents altered from what they should be) ... A full scan of our site has been completed and we are now doing a full scan of the entire server to be sure. This will take many hours to complete so will likely take most of the night. I did a bit of a google search and it does appear that there were instances yesterday and last night of 'ad hijacking' taking place on various sites. I do not believe this took place directly on our site, but the ads we were served may have been compromised at source and displayed wrongly. It also seems the ads that were compromised may only have been mobile ads as most of you report it didnt happen on PC. If anyone does encounter this again could you please screenshot it if possible and/or view the page source and send it to me here or via email at scotty@ the site url. if its something on the site we will get rid of it, if its infected ads we will pause them until cleaned by google, if its anything else we will do whatever is appropriate.

i see a number of websites reporting this so it may have been a bit higher up the food chain .... nonetheless I am in the process of running a deep file scan

huge loss to north football. RIP.
  13. Our club has done pretty well on Social Media at times. has even won awards. It went through a rocky spell a couple of years ago when it became corporate messaging and marketing spin with very little actual engagement but does seem to be back on track again now.

At the end of the day I am firmly in the red/blue stripes camp. That is our identity.Whether you like it or not, Red/Black/Blue/White are the founding colours of our club and our home kit should always reflect that fairly. Google 'Barcelona Historical Kits' and there are plenty of variations on a theme that stay within those limits and ensure ongoing sales. I am sure the same would probably be true of others who play in red/blue. If you want to experiment with other kits or colours then do so with 2nd kit or 3rd kits .... I dont have all the home kits, but I do have most of them and the ones that get the most positive comments are always the red/blue stripes. The black away kit was a close runner up.
  15. Indeed ... and typically the bulk of the LGBTQ community are more than happy with that. They dont seek to be treated any differently, just the opposite in fact. The problem - and I see it over here too - is that some individuals/organisations/businesses/groups seem to want to try too hard to show they are inclusive and non-discriminatory. I often wonder who they are trying to convince (themselves or others?) or if it is simply a case of self aggrandisement? Insert colour, race, religion, gender or sexuality and the scenarios and conversations are similar, its just the adjectives that change. I would humbly suggest that the best way to move forward is just to remove those adjectives in the first place and just be inclusive without any fanfare !

  19. You are Bagan for a red dot. You are setting the (Marco De) Barros very (Tony) Low.
  20. Those 4 - while good choices - don’t meet the criteria laid down by club (100 appearances).

  22. Its time for Player Sponsorship for the 2019/2020 season. PLAYER TO BE SPONSORED: We have decided to sponsor CAMERON HARPER's Home Top. If we reach additional milestones we will look to add sponsorship for other players for 'lesser' items.: COST The cost still has to be confirmed but last season this was £350+VAT so we are assuming the same. When Emma confirms cost we will update this post. We are also assuming other items are the same as last year so those additional items are listed for reference. If we go well beyond the initial target we will look to sponsor other items as we can. Home Shirt - £350 +vat (420) Away Shirt - £250 +vat (300) Training Top - £100 +vat (120) Boots/Gloves - £100 +vat (120) HOW TO TAKE PART To take part in this sponsorship you will need to upgrade your site membership and join the "Player Sponsor" group. We in turn will use the money received from these memberships (minus paypal fees) to purchase player sponsorships from the club. We will set all memberships - regardless of when ordered - to end on June 1st of each year. This allows us time each year to gauge the interest in continuing for the following season. The cost to join this group is £11.00 (this amounts to £10.00 joining fee plus £1 to cover the aforementioned paypal fees). You may purchase multiple memberships if you wish, just amend the total in your shopping cart and add a note when placing the order if it is to cover family members who may not officially be site members !!! NEW MEMBERS: To join the group simply go to this page http://caleythistleonline.com/store/ or access the CTO Store from the main menu at the top (under shop). All our site membership upgrades are handled securely via Paypal's platform which will accept direct payment from the majority of credit/debit cards so it should be easy enough to upgrade your membership whether you live in Sneck or somewhere thousands of miles from there. RENEWING MEMBERS: You can either use the same process that new members use or, as some have done already when they got a reminder email and invoice, you can do a simple renewal from your account. Go to http://caleythistleonline.com/clients/purchases/ and you should be able to renew from here. If you do not want to renew simply ignore any reminders and you will not be billed. CASH MEMBERSHIPS: We do NOT take cash payments. Everything needs to go through Paypal. Once we know how many members have joined the group, we will make a decision on what gets sponsored. The first item will be the selected player's Home Kit ... but the more members who upgrade to "Player Sponsor" membership, the more we can sponsor. At the end of the season, members of our sponsor group will be selected at random to receive any gifts we may receive from the club. For any events that occur during the season (like sponsors noights or meet and greets etc) we will offer first refusal to members of the sponsor group to attend as our representative. If you are interested, please add your name to this thread or go ahead and join the sponsor group. You will be marked as once we confirm payment received via membership upgrade .... EDIT: As questions are raised in the thread, we will clarify any that need a response below: Technically the payment is listed as a 'subscription' when you pay, but that is internal to this site only and is done this way so that in a year's time it will generate an invoice on here allowing existing members to renew (if they wish) or to let it expire. Renewal (or not) is at the user's discretion and as far as paypal is concerned its a one-off payment and there will be no automatic re-billing from their side.
  23. ok. I am going to close this thread now and start a new one with the details for this year's sponsorship. As no-one has objected then I think it a good idea to stick with our policy of sponsoring the kit of up and coming local lads through their ICT career. We have got lucky with Grant Munro and Liam Polworth, both of whom turned out to be very important and influential players for our club so lets hope Cameron Harper can develop in the same vein .....
