  1. i'll be there monday.... :021:
  2. be pushing it clacher to get something on here or even the trust website in 48 hours given my work/social schedule over the next week or so! these meetings usually take the form of being together as a large group in the first instance then breaking up in to workshops for other parts of the day and coming together at the end for a plenary session. the problem we find is that we never have enough people to attend all the workshops and report back. as a result, once the programme comes out (i don't have a copy yet...) we have to carefully pick which workshops we go to. anyway - that's the logistics... as for the other part of your question.... i suspect that the majority of the feelings would be that clubs are not of great monitory value at all. i think we're all aware that there have been (and still are) some dodgy characters who own or are directors of football clubs for whatever reasons... supporters groups recognised this and also recognised that in some instances clubs were not being run properly (or in the best interests of the club and fans) by these people and as a result the beginings of the trust movement were born. the trust movement initially started out at northampton and sort of grew from there. trusts (as opposed to supporters clubs) are properly constituted organisations with limited liability. it was felt that the nature of the trust meant that they could be a 'conscience' of the football club. the idea is not that the trusts throw money at the football clubs in order that it goes into a big black hole but that we have some kind of influence in how the money is spent and by building up influence within the club by buying shares before the clubs end up in dire straights. i know this is a pretty condensed version of things clacher, but there is actually nothing written down about how the movement started... there may be something somewhere about the value of clubs and i'll try to find out but at the end of the day they hold little value at all... here's a link to the supporters direct website where you can find some information and a copy of the publilcations http://www.supporters-direct.org/
  3. Dig noted - I would have been there had I not been working :016: don't think this was purely aimed at you CD! :003:
  4. it seems CD that they have thought about this too and there will be some sort of 'tagging' system in place . the chairman was made aware of the issues surrounding the old firm fans at the meeting last night with one of the young boys there raising that same point. i suspect that we will see a certain change to the way things happen next season... i suspect that the final details of the scheme are not yet ironed out but that we'll hear something within the next couple of weeks.
  5. what ever it is now plus the new bit.... :001:
  6. Cool, so you can just walk into the singing section for free! :015: (joking) But it sounds like a great idea. Should help create an atmosphere and imo, it;s the best part of the stadium from which to view a match. Presumably it will have to be all seated? the finer details are not yet ironed out. yes it will need to be all seated. you are not allowed to stand at spl grounds. i know i know the away fans do it all the time.... but..... WE need to be a wee bit sensible about things too. the club have been talking about a different style of stewarding next season and that should make a difference.

  15. see this press release below it looks like that Gordon i am ashamed of my accent and i wish i was English Brown is as unpopular down there as he is up here and a oath he took to put Scotland interest's first (not quite true) has come back to Haunt him CEP Press Release: Gordon Brown must drop his Claim Posted by Gareth | June 20, 2007 on 9:30 am | In Gordon Brown, Press release | NEWS RELEASE Wednesday 20th June 2007 For immediate release Gordon Brown must drop his Claim “How can Gordon Brown, who took this oath, become Prime Minister of the United Kingdom?” When Gordon Brown was an ordinary Scottish MP he signed the declaration of the “Scottish Claim of Right”. This document was a public oath committing those who took it to put the interests of the people of Scotland before all other considerations. Now Gordon Brown is to become Prime Minister for the whole of the United Kingdom, the Campaign for an English Parliament is calling on Gordon Brown to publicly declare that he will not put the interests of any one part of the United Kingdom above any other part of the United Kingdom. The Claim of Right, signed by Gordon Brown in 1988, read: We, gathered as the Scottish Constitutional Convention, do hereby acknowledge the sovereign right of the Scottish people to determine the form of Government best suited to their needs, and do hereby declare and pledge that in all our actions and deliberations their interests shall be paramount. CEP Chairman, Scilla Cullen, said, “There is another nation within the UK- that of England. Will Gordon Brown extend to its people the right of self-determination that he espoused for his own nation when he signed the Scottish Claim of Right?” CEP Vice Chairman, Tom Waterhouse, said, “The Claim of Right was a public oath, and those who took it pledged to put the interests of the Scottish people before all others. How can Gordon Brown, who took this oath, become Prime Minister of the United Kingdom? He must declare that he will put the interests of the whole of the UK before those of Scotland”. National Council, Campaign for an English Parliament Contact: [email protected] sorry can't do the clicky linky thingy....

  19. a few answers to questions on the 'reasons for independence' link on here....... http://www.radiofreescotland.webhop.org/ :003: :004:
  20. yes - i did actually read the linked article and having worked with people with end stage liver disease have seen the damage that can be done. everyone seems to accept that alcohol causes many of the problems in today's society but don't seem to be prepared to do anything about it..
  21. agreed..... so are you paying attention then?
  22. PC TWIT! Cast your mind back a few decades, there were more mind altering substances on the go and those taking them weren't aware of the risks. Today we are all aware. Whatever happened to the freedom our grandparents fought for. People in the FSU states have far more freedom than we've had for decades. I suspect that many folk don't know the risks that they take today when they are taking mind altering substances. a few decades ago you could be pretty sure what was in what you were taking and still many people have ended up with drug-induced psychosis. these days you have absolutely no idea what's in what you are taking. as hyslopsoffsideagain says if you saw what effects these drugs have on mental and physical health of folk.... he's seen it from the Newcraigs side - and if you were to see the staff in ICU in raigmore and other hospitals battling to save the lives of young people week in week out who have taken goodness knows what stuff thinking it wouldn't happen to them....
  23. a wee reminder that the AGM is on Thursday in tht Caley Club at 7.30
  24. Supporters Direct, the umbrella organisation for the Supporters Trust movement are holding their annual conference on Saturday June 30 in Glasgow. the board of the ICT Trust wants to extend an invitation to any 'central belter' ICT Trust members to attend this year's conference. As yet the programme for the day has not been released but these meetings are generally very informative as to what is happening within the football world, the trust movement and is a great opportunity to learn what other trusts throughout Scotland are doing. if anyone 'down south' is interested in attending please pm me. maybe admin could make this a sticky?? thanks
  25. it's funny when threads like this start and you get the thinking hat on... there have been so many good players for our team it's really hard to single one out but i guess for me in no particular order would be.... Jimmy Tokes Bobby Barry Mike T Paul - Ritchie Sheerin and Cherry Iain Stewart Herch and who could forget the runs down the wing of Wilson Robertson and the dead ball specialist Brian Thompson.. this list is not exhaustive nor exclusive!!
