  1. with regard to the faroe islands, i imagine they would be there for work. Did a study in iceland a few years back, there was a ton of chinese workers there, building a massive smelting thingy i think (it was a few years ago). Few of them played a bit i think. Anyways i would reckon its some brazillians who have come to europe looking for work and have been picked up by some fishing company and posted there, just my guess
  2. That is some brainwave but im pretty sure most lower league scottish teams are aware that a high quality of player exists in south america and africa, and perhaps in fiji. There are some fairly obvious reasons why we cant fill our team with south americans. How do you suppose we scout these lower league Brazilians? Brazil is a big place. Or do we fly a bunch or randoms over and hope for the best. South America is ever so slightly less developed than Britain, most brazilians never leave their state, let alone country. I cant imagine these players would be overly keen on stumping up on flights to london and then on to inverness, do we pay all costs and take very expensive punts? Are we nice enough to buy return flights for them? But hey, if you've seen some documentaries...
  3. great last save, a fair few shocking pens in there tho. Tokelys unsaveable
  4. I check this forum a fair bit (currently living down south, like to know how the teams doing), dont post as much as i perhaps should, but the feeling i get from threads such as this is that certain people seem to post in order to improve their virtual reputation... Theres a mildly interesting shopping forum called hotuk deals, people post good deals found online/in shops, everyone else rejoices, hoorah! But on the site there is at times a ridiculous battle to post deals first, mainly the obvious ones that everyone knows are coming but need to wait for the links to appear, people argue a lot about who got there first yadayada. Im finding this site reads a lot like it now... The amount of people that use phrases such as 'mark my words' or similar in order to imply they are the first to think something is pretty funny. I basically get the impression that people express views on here such as 'sack butcher or we'll go down' or unvail the next ludicrous transfer rumour (not so common to be fair) just so that in the odd chance that we do (which we wont) they can quote themselves (im sure they bookmark their original predictions) and bask in some sort of bizzare glorly they believe they are receiving across the old interweb. To sumarise: forum threads here get proposterous as people believe suggesting something (anything) first could down the line gain them some credibility.
  5. not that bad a draw, butcher going back to his old club, maybe this time he'll be able to get the players up for it. Motherwell are still a completley unknown quantity and may well use the game to play some of the new lads/fringe players
  6. haha no knee jerk reactions on here then...
  7. motherwell offered us a swap deal apparently, we said no. not sure who the player in question is but according to mr bennett: "Unless it was one of Motherwell's best players involved, and that is not the case, then there would be little benefit to Caley Thistle." also mentions this latvian lad, Pavels Mihadjuks, who currently plays for FK Ventspils.
  8. Walters being saying he's mainly looking to trim his squad: "There are 28 people in the senior squad and that is a big staff," Smith told Rangers News. "First and foremost, we must deal with that situation as we don't need that many players and we have to address it. he does go on to say that if he can get rid of a few he may look at bringing in a player, probably a defender tho. all in all i dont think its very likely that don cowie will be signing for rangers
  9. dont see any harm in taking a look at him. Hastings and tokers havent exactly covered themselves in glory at times this season...
  10. fast forward to about 2 mins 40. Maybe we should be making a move for this lad... http://www.dafc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/...1368830,00.html
  11. if only the romanian wingers and full backs could cross a ball...
  12. he's signing according to the ever reliable edinburgh metro...
  13. i dont think anyone rates sebo in scotland, so he isnt realy over-rated. pressley hasnt played much this season so again isnt over rated. same goes for buffel, allthough he did look good in the semi final last weekend. i think nevin was saying that the reason he hasnt been playing is because they'll have to pay more transfer fees if he appears in the league again. rob jones in my opinion is the most over rated, everyone goes on about how much of a gaol threat he is (especialy on this site pre-hibs games) but he rarely scores. the only people that dont rate him strangely enough are hibees.
  14. i'd rather zibi as a back up than ridgers, that said i wasnt keen on having fraser as our back up and he did just fine. bring back ridgers!

    Next season

not heard much a part from barrowman and apparently bigger teams than us are looking at him. part ffrom that nothing doing. maybe another romanian or 2? whatever came of that whole hagi/popescu thing?
  16. realy cant see it happening, the legal ramifications would be huge. they couldnt surely in effect relegate 2 teams at this late staeg, theyd have legal bills coming out their noses. not just from us but the likes of st j, they effectively have no chance of winning the league but a slightly better chance of 2nd. they could argue that now that they are out of the title race theye rested players or tried new formations as they have nothing to play for, however if all of sudden dundee and hamilton were promoted then they could argue that they could have fought on for 2nd place. in summary, i dont see it happening
  17. personally the cup form is more annoying than the league form. been watching ict all my days (im 22 so thats not that long) but in my lifetime we've risen from the Highland league to the SPl and in doing so we have completley bypassed 20-25 teams who constantly linger in divisions 1-3. i cant imagine what it must be like to be an Arbroath Alloa or Ayr fan (and thats just the A-teams!), no real hope of getting to the big time. We get regular trips to 2 of the best stadiums in the world, a few games a year on the T.V. and generally being ackgnowledged in the media. Granted our cup from has been sh!t since we came up but we allready ahve the most famous shock in Scottish cup football under our belts! Im sure in the next 2-3 years we'll sneak a trip to Hampden an possibly the top 6 as well. Im not suggesting we dont try to progress but i think people underestimate how hard it is to continue to progress in what is a tough league and tough cups, our time will come
  18. i think the current slip is down in part to a loss of form but also a run of bad luck, since the gretna game we havent won but a good few of the performances have been fine (see below), we have some very winnable fixtures coming up and a week off to prepare, think the panicking is a it unnecessary, and who realy cares if "russeldinho" leaves! ICT 3-0 Gretna - hoorah! Hibs 3-0 ICT - we were pish but hibs were good ICT 0-1 Rangers - very unlucky, thought we coped well with a team in the latter rounds of the EUFA cup! and could/should have taken 1 or maybe(!) 3 points ST mir 1-1 ICT - wasnt there but was it not quite even? not a bad result away from home ICT 1-1 DUFC - awful game but not a bad point, they took their chance but we could have quite easily snatched a win M'well 3-1 ICT - we were pretty much blown away by a very good m'well team, no real shame and we battled back quite well Hibs 2-0 ICT - bad start again but we were far better than them, on another day we would have scored a couple. the fact that one of our players was mom surely backs that up Celtic 2-ICT 1 - our defence actually coped quite well against a very good team who played barcelona (and did well) the next week. we had them on the ropes last 15 mins ICT 0-Hearts 3 - Ive.got.nothing.
  19. i would definatley give rory a chance, he did more in his 5 mins than wyness did in 45 mins, and wyness has been guff for a few months now. think nows the perfect time to give him his chance (as well as viguirs in place of duncan), least that way we could finally make a semi-informed judgment on the poor lad
  20. yeah they've had a heck of a lot of corners! gretna 3 killie 0!
