  1. At the moment I can't see us taking more than 4 points and I'd probably reckon on only 2 points from the next 4 fixtures picking up 1 point from Killie and 'well at home. I hope I'm proved wrong but looking at the months fixtures I can see us slipping down two places and being drawn into a relegation fight by the end of the year.
  2. Especially when we had made it clear he wasn't in our plans and had pretty much burned our bridges with the player anyway :thumb04: But no, we certainly weren't in a position to turn down ?100k from Hibs. When did our home performances start to deteriorate? Could we afford to accept ?100K for what was our best player? League position and cup runs generate income, how much more would we have had with Rankin in the team? Some daft country bumpkin team called Ross County went up and Airdrie followed after Gretnas demise :018: No, I still don't get it, who? He might not have been out of favour under CC but under CB he certainly was. Again, when did our home performances start to deteriorate?
  3. I think Bush has posted some very good posts in this topic as it is apparent that no matter what brewster does, some fans want him out regardless. A pont that has been missed, may have been raised in other threads, is that this season has seen the biggest change/turnover in our squad since Pele took over when we were in the third division. This is undoubtedly having an impact as these players get to know each other. At long last however, we are also starting to produce youngsters capable of playing in the SPL which is the future for us. When playing young players, you will get inconsistent performances and allowances have to be made for this although not by some on this forum it appears. Finally, remember football is a results business. If we played wonderful attacking football but lost every game or got relegated, then I would not be happy. The priority has to be results with hopefully the good football follwoing on after that. For those who say they would rather watch entertaining football and never mind the results, time to come into the real world. spot on. I'm waiting
  4. Must be true then, eh?
  5. He even made Brewster look good FFS.
  6. Are you Footballers wife in disguise?
  7. Rankin hadn't bought a house at that point. He was told by Brewster that he didn't figure in his plans and then made a move to sell his house in the North. At the same time he was brought into the team and turned in some fine performances. Far from persuading Rankin to stay ICT and Brewster now had a form player who they could command a higher fee for hence the numerous bids from Falkirk and St. Mirren but ICT kept wanting more and more for John. My mistake. However, It was Christie that dropped him in the first place, and I stand by my original point, when a team like Hibs come calling with 100k, neither the club, nor Rankin himself, were ever going to say no. He shouldn't have been available IMHO. RIG for some reason I must've blanked out this years 2nd division champions. :thumb04:
  8. And I thought it was just us mere mortals that had reflections.
  9. The tide is turning TAXI FOR BREWSTER
  10. Why did Rankin leave? And don't tell me that wasn't personal. I'd rather....have Pele back in charge. Aye. Very good. At least under Pele, you left feeling you had been entertained for your money My point exactly.
  11. Then first division opposition in Morton. Ask Hibs, Hearts or St Midden if they'd swap places with us... Morton are newly promoted and looking at the league table they're going straight back down, second division opposition like I said. Results are important but so too are performances, otherwise there would be empty grounds up and down the country every saturday afternoon. Fans pay to see attractive attacking football and a team that gets a reputation for that attracts a lot more fans than those that play ugly football. (I'm not putting ICT in that bracket but sometimes....)
  12. No I'd rather they dispatched lower league opposition in regulation time, I'd rather the team was firing on all cylinders, I'd rather players who are performing well keep their place in the team, I'd rather personal differences between manager and player don't get to the point that the player is sold off to rival teams, I'd rather....have Pele back in charge.
  13. So, what has he achieved exactly? Narrowly scraped through against second division opposition? Woop de doo.
  14. Draw's on Thursday afternoon from Unwashed Arabs Fifers Bairns ICT Killie/Sheep Well/Accies PlasticWhistle/Huns I'm not very confident in progressing through any of that lot the way the team sets itself out just now.
  15. Squad rotation, only fair he gets a game and less to lose in cup games against lower division opposition .......................................................... allegedly.
  16. Black off for Rooney. WTF
  17. He'll probably get a new contract.
  18. It's feckin working then
  19. Shut up! Nearly a brace for McAllister
  20. I think we all know the answer. :thumb04:
  21. 1-0 Morton Jim McAllister
  22. 0-3 HT 4-3 FT Was at work listening on the radio jumping the height of myself.
  23. My point is there are no players I'd want to offload, Pataleinen will come into the fray again. Whilst I was hoping the board would have been a bit more imaginative when CC resigned, of all our previous managers I would have taken Pele back in the blink of an eye. He's got more of a tactical brain than Brew, is more of a team builder/motivator, can see good potential signings and knows the way we were set up at the start. There's nothing wrong with having a small club mentality if you have a small club's running costs, the next couple of seasons are probably going to be tight for most fans and I'd expect to see crowds dwindle further. Paterson/Shearer at the helm again would be better for the club, better for the squad and better for the fans. . . . . . . . . IMHO
