  1. Ince was known for his arrogance long before the Celtic match. He even came up with his own nickname of "the Guvn'r", which he put on the back of his training suit. Everyone just called him 'Ince-y'.
  2. I would imagine Brew would be pressing pretty heavily for a 16 team league. Starting this season!
  3. My guess would be: George Fraser - Chairman Graeme Bennett - Director of Football Sandy Catto - Director David Cameron - Director Ken Mackie - Director Ian MacDonald - Company Secretary (although that's disputed) What do I win?
  4. Isn't Iggy Pop the chairman of the bored? Must mean us?
  5. In my mind is that girl from Monsoon and Grange Hill that sang 'Ever So Lonely'...(obscure, maybe but rather that than Yogi Hughes bleeeuuuch)
  6. I think he's the only player at the club that could do a job at Rangers. Probably in a more Kevin Thomson/Paul Hartley defensive role.
  7. A 2 team top league.

    lose

Calm down their. Your in danger off loosing the plot. Just keep calm and do'nt loose your head. Keep a rain off your immotions like Dr Spock of Startrek. May be take your mind of it with a game of Trivial Pursuits.
  9. Well, Sutherland's not been given a chance so far. I would have thought if he was under serious consideration, then he would have got a game earlier in the season. Basically, we're losing someone who can turn a game and who has looked good when on. Unless we're getting in a replacement, then turning to someone that has only IIRC made one appearance this season, just isn't good enough.
  10. No room for sentiment. He should stay another 6 months for what he can do on the park in the last half an hour. Not a 90 minute player anymore but too important to us to let go. Anyone else feel we're trimming down just in case we get relegated. Just seems the sort of thing that would happen with our board. Bet we're not looking to replace him.
  11. I'm not a fan of Brew by any means but this thread is dominated by anti-Brew comments. How about the rest of us at least limit our criticisms to a max of one response to a pro comment? Otherwise the thread's pointless.
  12. Ah go on, you twisted my arm. I'll do it! Where do I sign? (must point out that on football manager, I'm known for mind-numbing defensive football and grinding out results - is that ok?)
  13. Hegarty's Livi's manager. Actually, I'd be up for poaching him just to spite our old rivals!
  14. If Brew's any sense, he'll bite their hand off at the first chance of an offer. What other sizable club would take him?
  15. I used to go on the Scotsman's site a lot and there were a lot of Hibs fans wanting Rankin replaced by Lewis Stevenson due to his work rate. Yup, you get more work but less delivery. It's like blaming an orange for not being an apple.
  16. My point still stands but if you insist, leave Becks and swap Giggs, Cooper and Waddle for Strachan, Woan and Nakamura. In the team for their delivery, not their defensive duties. If Rankin had that sort of engine to get up'n'down and still be a provider then you'd have to add a zero on to his value. I take it you're in a bad mood today given some of your replies?
  17. Ever had deja vu? Wow, it's like I've had that feeling before. Anyway, new hungry manager with a bit of presence and a student of the game a la Steven Pressley or Christian Dailly with an old head as an assistant. Maybe Pressley could get Archie Knox? Otherwise, people like Jim Duffy, John McCormick or so, that have been used to being an assistant.
  18. Pressley is not going to be playing for Randers much longer - not sure if he's lost it, the season is near ending, wages or what, but I'd imagine he would jump at the chance to manage an SPL club. Similarly, I think football is in Duffy's blood. I couldn't see him turning us down either, although I like the novice manager with an old head beside him approach.
  19. Rankin - attack minded left-sided midfielder. He does more defensive duties then you lose the attack side of his game. Beckham, Giggs, Waddle, Cooper etc weren't exactly known for their defensive mindedness. Obviously Rankin is nowhere near that good but then again, he's playing against Falkirk and Hamilton, not Madrid or Chelsea.
  20. Jim Duffy's too old to be a player/manager. Besides we've got McGuire to come back in central defence... :thumb04: ...maybe Duffy could play on for a season then Seriously, I think Pressley as manager and Duffy assisting him I could really go for. I like our habit of taking on young hungry managers and apparently Duffy is a good coach with extensive knowledge on the game. Could work!
  21. Sheesh! That's about the worst thing I've ever heard a manager to say to his fans. If that had been a player he was talking about, then it would be transfer demand time. Total and utter contempt. I know terracing barracking can be demoralising for the players but, to my mind, there's no way back for Brewster. There has to be a crowd campaign now. Otherwise, who's going to bother coming back to see a team like this next year? (yeah, I know you will but not many others)
  22. Hi-bees will still criticise him for not doing enough in defence. Never seem to criticise defenders for not attacking enough, why the other way around?
  23. It depends how it's played. If we have Cowie and Imrie pushed right up on the wings and Vigurs as attacking midfielder, then that would provide the chances for a goal hanger. At the moment though, Cowie and Imrie are cutting back to play inside with no clear attacking midfield, i.e. everything going through the centre. Pretty pointless.
  24. Why? what kind of deal is he on? I'd be surprised if it was high wages.
  25. Or a very attack minded wide midfield - almost 4-3-3 - for plenty of opportunities to get in behind the defence. That's a selective memory. Rankin was told he had no future at ICT just as he was preparing to settle down. On the left wing, he's far better than either Black or Vigurs. I'd say Cowie too on delivery. He also worked really well in that 4-1-3-2/4-2-3-1 role with both Black and Cowie in the same team. He's deeply missed.
