  1. this is horrible to listen to.. we deserve to go down if we can't win our home games
  2. You can blame Brewster all you want but how can Butcher justify playing several players in foreign positions for one of the most important games of the season?? Looks as though he has picked that team from a hat The one thing that annoyed me about Brewster was he tried to be too clever instead of picking players to play in their best positions... Butcher has carried on in the same way
  3. Good team mate I'd go: Calder Tokely Mann Munro Golly Wilson Christie Sheerin Robson Wyness Stewart Brown, Dods, Byers, Black, Cowie, Bagan, Dargo on the bench
  4. Esson Tokely Pavels Munro Hastings Duncan Morais Black Foran Barrowman Imrie Guarentee Barrowman scores!
  5. eh??? Glancy was a wee legend.... he never gave anything but 100% and he was more of a forward than a midfielder Allan... was never that bad Di Barros wasn't half bad either ... Les Fridge would have to be the worst keeper we ever had by a country mile
  6. Very fair Harry...I'm sorry I upset both you and TheKnowledge. I didn't realise you two were so close! he's my lover from another mother :thumb04:
  7. That's a wee bit harsh Chibby babe, and if I may so, not a very appropriate choice of words. As for psychologist's wet dream that is an extremely scary thought - especially taking into account who this website's resident psychologist is.... I don't think your apology is sincere enough.. thus the strong language make it more believable and I will apologise for wording my post so stongly.... fair??
  8. You've hit the nail on the head there. Barrowman needs to be given the ball to score (preferably in the box) and we have little, if any creativity, in the side just now. He doesn't run around like a headless chicken a la Imrie so is branded lazy and struggles to win much in the air against much bigger defenders when we hoof the ball forward. He's pretty much on a hiding to nothing just now completely agree, a lot of the time Barrowman is being asked to receive long high balls with his back to goal and that doesnt suit him. Barrowman is most effective in the box as a poacher and can hit the target when the ball is played in quickly behind the defence as he showed in the first game against Aberdeen. As has been mentioned before it takes players time to settle in to the SPL and i think we need to give hime to to adjust. I have faith he will come good in the end. the criticism he has been getting is unfair given the amount of time he has been given in the team and as long as he is an ICT player we should support him rather that berate him. absolutely spot on..... we could have Van Nistelrooy, Boyd or Barrowman... and it wouldn't make much difference to us because they do their best work in the 6 yard box and unfortunately we are lucky if we get into the opponents half never mind the box. I would like to see him play upfront with Morais or Imrie playing in behind him doing the build up work and see if he can pick up some goals but is he our worst signing?? so far, possibly but he still has 2 years to prove his worth
  9. I once threw a condom in someone's pie as they walked past, does that count... .... no :thumb04: ........ ok then
  10. Your just trying to hurt me. Thats not very nice. A thousand apologies Knowledge... It was an extremely ill advised and quite thoughtless post of mine. Believe me I was not seeking to hurt or offend you in any way shape or form whatsoever. I understand there are quite a few sensitive souls on here, like you, who make many excellent and worthwhile contributions to this website. There are also one or two cretinous tubes (well one anyway) who can be extremely offensive.... but that's another story. so basically, you have tried to make 'TheKnowledge' look like a pr!ck and then complain about someone else who has caused you some offence... you're a psychologists wet dream!!! "In colloquial speech, bullying often describes a form of harassment perpetrated by an abuser who possesses more physical and/or social power and dominance than the victim. The victim of bullying is sometimes referred to as a target. The harassment can be verbal, physical and/or emotional. Sometimes bullies will pick on people bigger or smaller than their size. Bullies hurt people verbally and physically. There are many reasons for that. One of them is because the bullies themselves are or have been the victim of bullying" ala Wikipedia
  11. ;) :thumb04: McGuire!!! :018:
  12. Think it was the repeat on last night... GREAT documentary although extremely byst He was a bit before my time but, by all accounts, sounds like a very interesting character. Only football can bring these guys to the front... it's depressing that the most interesting & unpredictable manager we have in the SPL at the moment is Strachan!! I would love to see more characters in our premier league but IMO we need to expand the league so there is more variety
  13. I wouldn't be surprised because he is an eye catching player, especially when he is galloping forward but he is murder at defending. The most important thing about any defender (feel free to argue) is consistency and the only thing that Zadi has done consistently is make mistakes. He definitely gave the squad a lift with some superb performances and I was happy to see him get a run in the team but we aren't scoring enough to be unreliable at the back... especially when we have so little games to fight for a place in the SPL next season.
  14. Here's a thought, how many last gasp challenges and game-winning-goals has Granty scored?? how many appearances has he made for the club?? He could quite easily have gone hiding on a few occasions (notably the Motherwell fresh air swipe) but he still turns out and always gives his all to the cause. It is far easier to point out the negatives but if you have seen the amount of effort Munro has put into ICT throughout his career you would understand how important he is to the club. Put it this way... how many mistakes has Zadi made since being in the ICT team?
  15. I've said before but I think Cowie was captain material and wish he was still at the club... I imagine he will go on to do good things in England... and hopefully in the Scotland team. His workrate is second to none and will provide goals from midfield It's good to see ex-players paying tribute to the club & fans... good on you Cowie all the best
  16. Looks as though we have a gay crusader in our midst
  17. That's a different point entirely... I also think we have/had stronger candidates for the captaincy but I can't understand how anyone can suggest that Duff is a better player than Munro. Duff has had a hand full of appearances in his very short career, most of which we lost and most of which he was a culprate for 1 of the goals..... yes Duff has potential to be a very good player but it sums up the mentallity of our support to suggest that on so little evidence they think that he is a better player than Munro. Similar to Zander.... just because you have seen him do some keepy ups at the side of the pitch doesn't mean he has the standard required to mix it in the SPL. Brown Tokely Dods Munro Hastings As I mentioned previously, the above defence let in less goals than every other team apart from the old firm. Fraser, didn't work out for whatever reason but now we have Esson who has been excellent this season. Dods was a big miss, we had a massive hole in the centre of defence until Mihadjuks turned up but now he is in the team we look as solid as ever... get Hastings back in the team and we'll be back to our best defensively. Munro is a tried and tested centre half who sweeps perfectly for the ball winner...
  18. Nonsense absolute nonsense. What if someone gave birth to a child in say Canada and then five minutes later moved over two the American side of the border, where the child lived for the rest of it's life? Surely if the child was born on say 5th March 1987 it would be more "American" than someone born on in America on say 1st January 2000. Where someone happens to pop out the womb is just plain pedantic nonsense. That's exactly why a lot of people think international football is a farce... but I agree with Sir C the 3rd's post, ideally every player would play for the country they were born in but it's an impossible scenario because there are so many variables.
  19. probably because you are pish at football (or at least not good enough to play pro level). Granty is, and loves the club! 2 seasons ago Munro was part of the 3rd best defence in Scotland... and there are signs of that now with Pavels in the squad & Esson in the sticks. I think if we replace Djebi-Zadi with a more consistant and reliable left back then we will have one of the best defences in Scotland again
  20. Have to admit I had a couple of glasses of Vino last night and completely missed the wind up muppet... I'm sure Richie would be just as reliable as Zadi is at left back though
  21. I think this thread is just as ridiculous as the 'signings for next season' thread. Munro, years of dedicated service, our captain, ICT supporter, left footed sweeper... fits perfectly with Mihadjuks. Duff, on the other hand had a hooffull of consecutive appearances (most of which he made mistakes in), doesn't have the intelligence (yet) to be anything but a ball winner and when we already have Pavels winning everything in the air we need someone to sweep in behind and Granty has done that brilliantly for a long time. Granty is suffering because he is covering for the ever predictable Zadi.. if you stick Hastings back in at left back then IMO we have one of the best defences in Scotland... as we did before Dods left us. Sick of threads like this, I understand everyone has their own opinion but Granty would walk across the Sahara for this club and to see a thread like this must break his big ICT heart.
  22. couldn't make the game against Midden but against Falkirk he had 'mare. He had a great run down the wing at one point, which nearly set up the goal but apart from that he just made the rest of the defence nervous whenever he got the ball. As soon as teams start picking him out as a weak link then we will be in serious bother
  23. Can you have a bombscare that goes off so regularly Harry? apparently so.. at least he makes games exciting... I like him but he is doing more harm than good at the moment
