My predictions for first round of matches are Falkirk (h) Rangers (a) Gretna (h) Killie (a) Dundee United (h) Motherwell (a) Hearts (a) Celtic (h) Hibs (h) Aberdeen (a) St Mirren (h) :004: :004:
  2. Thank you IHE.
  3. First of all, Scotty, the above statement is not DJS speaking but the Supporters' Trust. Now, though, DJS will have his say. Comment 1 - I think the club is somewhat horrified at what has happened and there is a determination from the Chairman that it not happen again. However, he certainly does not want to see the Singing Section strangled at birth which is good. Comment 2 - No and don't know yet Comment 3 - Only time will tell but the Trust will keep pressing them on this one. Comment 4 - Hear or Listen? - Take your pick. We can do both. If any future Singing Section must be all seated it may never get off the ground (poor choice of words, I know) and supporters need to be consulted about that. There is no point in the club arranging something if it is not wanted. What is clear is that we cannot expect ICT to say that a standing Singing Section will be ok because they simply can't do that. Some Glasgow based bureaucrat would be on their case in no time. The Supporters' Trust has argued with the club for some time that the approach to fans standing needs to be consistent and uniform. Telling 20 people to sit down when you are unwilling to tell 2000 cannot be defended. The Trust can't run away from what happened on Saturday because we were involved in arranging the event. I honestly don't think we could have foreseen the heavy handed approach of police and stewards because we have never seen such an approach before at TCS. I hope we never do again and we will work towards that end. We have spoken to some of those who were ejected and it would be good to speak to the others. I am conscious as I type that we have not spoken to IHE yet and I will do that. The media interest in this has been quite remarkable and Les Kidger, in particular, has been very busy dealing with TV, radio and the papers. That actually started around half-time on Saturday.
  4. Representatives of both the ICT Supporters Trust and the Football Club met today (Tuesday) to discuss the Singing Section at Saturday’s match with Dunfermline. The Trust took to the Club the concerns of fans about events at the game. It is clear that much can be learned from what happened and further dialogue and investigations are required to complete this process. However, we are pleased that the Football Club remains committed to the Singing Section becoming a permanent fixture at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium. The Trust will arrange a meeting for fans in the near future, to which club representatives will be invited, to hear how fans feel this initiative should be taken forward.
  5. The board of the Supporters' Trust met today (Sunday) and discussed the concerns raised by fans about events in the Singing Section at Saturday's game. We have received a large number of messages and emails from concerned supporters and we are presently collating information and will issue a further statement in due course. The Chairman of the Supporters' Trust, Les Kidger, and the Chairman of the Football Club, Alan Savage, have spoken today and the Trust will be seeking a meeting with the club later this week. The Singing Section certainly helped to improve the atmosphere at Saturday's game and it is important that the difficulties experienced do not hinder the development of this important initiative.
  6. The Supporters Trust was involved in the organising of the Singing Section and naturally we are very concerned at the way things turned out today. We will be seeking a meeting with the club to discuss this at the earliest opportunity after which we will comment further. In the meantime, if anyone wishes to contact the Trust about the Singing Section, please send me a Personal Message.
  7. How about this place?

It just seems like a couple of weeks ago since he was wandering about with his arm in a sling. Does seem a bit risky, I agree.

Oh how the Scots hated him and Emlyn Hughes - and they hated us back. Sad they are both gone now.
  10. Alex, if you're going to go all the way to Denmark to attend a game, the least you can do is watch it. :003: Yep, it was the post match riot after the Scottish Cup Final in 1980 that called time on drink at the football. Can't see it returning.
  11. Just because Brewster had an unsuccessful time at Tannadice doesn't make him a bad manager. History has taught us that the Arabs are a very difficult team to manage.
  12. You took the very words out of my mouth, L_G. :004:

The impressive thing about Sutton over the years has been his ability to regularly score goals against us.
  14. Would have to agree there.
  15. The first bowling night was a great success and we are keen to make this one bigger and better. If you have any kids who are ICT fans they will love it. Get your names down straight away for what should be a good evening. Wyness is banned from this event as we're scared of the effect a bowling ball might have on his shoulder. :015:
  16. One name I would add is Ian MacArthur.
  17. I don't think I ever remember an ICT player who divided opinion more than DX. I liked him as he had something a bit special about him that could turn a game. Very skillful and dangerous on those occasions when he would drift into the game.
  18. and good night
  19. These pictures would suggest that the new shirt is only available in size small. Well proportioned chaps like myself have no chance.
  20. Apparently Charlie Christie agrees.
  21. Fine by me but I feel IHE may be burying his head in the sand on this issue. :004:
  22. GRABE, your encyclopedic knowledge of BW's season is truly impressive and your arguments are worthy of consideration. On the other hand...... I am reliably informed that when BW recently scored the late winner against the Arabs he was really concerned that his legs were going to pack in while doing so. He was absolutely knackered and that's unlikely to get any better. It's also nothing to be ashamed for a 35 year old playing in the SPL. While ICT may have conceded late goals after BW was substituted you have to ask why he was taken off. I don't think it was tactical. So I'm not convinced that you can directly link the result to BW being off the pitch. If I was manager I would always try to go for fresh legs over tired or hurting ones.

Are the buddies any closer to leaving the midden? Our closing game there isn't the last ever game at Love Street or is it?
  24. Well, GRABE, let me elaborate here on some of my comments in the P&J. I have absolutely nothing against either player. Some of my favourite ICT moments are Barry Wilson moments - the goal at Parkhead in 2000, that amazing strike at Motherwell and the first SPL goal in Inverness spring immediately to mind. The fact that I once had to stand in the Howden End at Telford Street while a young Mr Wilson lifted his Ross County shirt to display a "Let's all laugh at Caley" t-shirt underneath is forgiven and very nearly forgotten. Let's not kid ourselves, though, the ICT team are getting older and old age doesn't come by itself. McSwegan 36, Wilson 35, McBain 32 and Dods 31. Wyness and Hastings both hit the big 30 before the end of the season and a number of others are in their late 20s such as McCaffrey, Hart, Dargo and Tokely. Gary McSwegan was signed, it would appear, as cover for Dargo and Wyness and because of injuries to these players we have seen more of him recently than we might have expected to. I just don't see a player there who can be expected to make a really useful contribution at SPL level next season. Others may disagree - we shall see. I would have to agree with the Immortal Howden Ender that it may have been better if Barry had been rested more this season. It strikes me that in the last twenty minutes of games lately he has looked pretty weary, and from your own comments I don't think you would argue with that. That's not going to get any better next term. So, do we ignore that or accept that most Saturdays he will have to be taken off midway through the second half? Perhaps his most telling contribution could be coming off the bench to run at tiring defences late in games. Whatever, he has a role to play for another season but because of his age it needs to evolve. So we are certainly heading towards a Dad's Army situation and an injection of young, fresh blood is urgently required, particularly in defence and attack. Whether that comes from ICT youth teams, improved scouting or whatever remains to be seen. Without significant adjustments to the squad, though, I fear we may be doomed, doomed!
  25. Four years later and it was Revilino and as kids we would always be trying it. Hear is an example from the great man though not with the outside of his foot. http://youtube.com/watch?v=zuir7PwfovM Roberto Carlos also managed it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFZPylYLnmU...ted&search=
