  1. ...with Brewster and Thompson set to take over :023:
  2. Would have to agree there.
  3. The first bowling night was a great success and we are keen to make this one bigger and better. If you have any kids who are ICT fans they will love it. Get your names down straight away for what should be a good evening. Wyness is banned from this event as we're scared of the effect a bowling ball might have on his shoulder. :015:
  4. One name I would add is Ian MacArthur.
  5. I don't think I ever remember an ICT player who divided opinion more than DX. I liked him as he had something a bit special about him that could turn a game. Very skillful and dangerous on those occasions when he would drift into the game.
  6. and good night
  7. These pictures would suggest that the new shirt is only available in size small. Well proportioned chaps like myself have no chance.
  8. Apparently Charlie Christie agrees.
  9. Fine by me but I feel IHE may be burying his head in the sand on this issue. :004:
  10. GRABE, your encyclopedic knowledge of BW's season is truly impressive and your arguments are worthy of consideration. On the other hand...... I am reliably informed that when BW recently scored the late winner against the Arabs he was really concerned that his legs were going to pack in while doing so. He was absolutely knackered and that's unlikely to get any better. It's also nothing to be ashamed for a 35 year old playing in the SPL. While ICT may have conceded late goals after BW was substituted you have to ask why he was taken off. I don't think it was tactical. So I'm not convinced that you can directly link the result to BW being off the pitch. If I was manager I would always try to go for fresh legs over tired or hurting ones.

  13. Are the buddies any closer to leaving the midden? Our closing game there isn't the last ever game at Love Street or is it?
  14. Well, GRABE, let me elaborate here on some of my comments in the P&J. I have absolutely nothing against either player. Some of my favourite ICT moments are Barry Wilson moments - the goal at Parkhead in 2000, that amazing strike at Motherwell and the first SPL goal in Inverness spring immediately to mind. The fact that I once had to stand in the Howden End at Telford Street while a young Mr Wilson lifted his Ross County shirt to display a "Let's all laugh at Caley" t-shirt underneath is forgiven and very nearly forgotten. Let's not kid ourselves, though, the ICT team are getting older and old age doesn't come by itself. McSwegan 36, Wilson 35, McBain 32 and Dods 31. Wyness and Hastings both hit the big 30 before the end of the season and a number of others are in their late 20s such as McCaffrey, Hart, Dargo and Tokely. Gary McSwegan was signed, it would appear, as cover for Dargo and Wyness and because of injuries to these players we have seen more of him recently than we might have expected to. I just don't see a player there who can be expected to make a really useful contribution at SPL level next season. Others may disagree - we shall see. I would have to agree with the Immortal Howden Ender that it may have been better if Barry had been rested more this season. It strikes me that in the last twenty minutes of games lately he has looked pretty weary, and from your own comments I don't think you would argue with that. That's not going to get any better next term. So, do we ignore that or accept that most Saturdays he will have to be taken off midway through the second half? Perhaps his most telling contribution could be coming off the bench to run at tiring defences late in games. Whatever, he has a role to play for another season but because of his age it needs to evolve. So we are certainly heading towards a Dad's Army situation and an injection of young, fresh blood is urgently required, particularly in defence and attack. Whether that comes from ICT youth teams, improved scouting or whatever remains to be seen. Without significant adjustments to the squad, though, I fear we may be doomed, doomed!

  16. Four years later and it was Revilino and as kids we would always be trying it. Hear is an example from the great man though not with the outside of his foot. http://youtube.com/watch?v=zuir7PwfovM Roberto Carlos also managed it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFZPylYLnmU...ted&search=
  17. I will be interested to hear the club's reaction to how this exercise went. I hope they do consider repeating it. They will inevitably, though, get one or two letters of complaint about it which I think is pretty sad really.
  18. Here he is in action. This event set off an earthquake measuring 6.2 on the richter scale with the resultant tsunamai due to hit Stornoway on Friday http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMndxgzztaI
  19. This rather sounds like the beginning of the end for CC. As each week goes by he just does not seem to be comfortable in the job, and it would not surprise me in the slightest if he was starting to think about walking sometime soon. It would be sad but I feel it would have to be a clean break. It would not be fair on any new manager to have his predecessor on the coaching staff or even running the centenary club.
  20. The world needs more sportsmen that look like this. I approve. :015: In case you haven't heard of him he's playing for Bermuda in the cricket world cup
  21. Stupid really, because it was probably worked out days ago. :020:
  22. Who does he think he is? Jimmy Johnstone. Another example of the English trying to be more like the Scots. :006:
  23. If the formula of the last few years is repeated we'll start at home to Falkirk followed by a trip to Ibrox.
  24. I think I'll pop along. These evenings need a bit of male totty.
  25. Now that we are 99.9% certain about who will be in the top and bottom 6 after the split why don't the SPL produce provisional post-split fixtures. Surely it would of benefit to every club and all their fans to know dates and venues.
