Roys Roll Call
Can we play county on Saturday now?
-
Our Prayers Could be Answered
I actually support Douglas Mcdonald. It's very easy to have a pop at referees - especially if you've never ref'd a game. I was driving in to work on Friday morning and John reid was on the radio demanding mcdonald's resignation. Err...? No, sorry, don't think so. It' s not up to the clubs to decide. Also, this whole shyte about refs having to "declare their loyalty" is a load of absolute rubbish. If you referee your own team you tend to be biased against them! Would ross tokely not bother trying against hearts because he supported them when he was growing up? It's the same situation with refs IMVHO. most have been involved in football - especially at junior level and want to be part of the game. Anyway, rant over. Who's going to suffer? I feel sorry for north based fans - like Miss ICT - if this game is postponed it will be played in a midweek. People have booked trains, etc for games and believe it or not but I feel really sorry for county and QoS fans with their cup final. (Though on a more negative note it might give county more time to get a decent manager appointed before it.) Could we now have Roy's testimonial v county on Saturday at 3 PLEASE!!!

I'd rather play them on Saturday tbh. Highlights are now up on BBC Sport.

Scottish Cup
Would still be a good day out though. And Stenny's ground is in Larbert.

Matchday Thread : ICT -V- Hibernian
Hibs fans really should just give up coming up to Inverness. it's not going to happen for them, is it? Heard there was a fair bit of trouble on the train back at 1843 and the polis needed to call in the cavalry at Newtonmore. Thankfully i was on the later jake train and missed this nonsense. Highlight of the game for me was big ross literally 'going ape' when Foran (I think it was Foran?) missed a chance. What a day, weekend, result - it makes travelling for 8 hours worth it.

Scottish Cup
^ that one. I've got a pal in Falkirk who has a season ticket for the shire and I've always fancied going to one of their games. Wouldn't go when Caley are playing though. Think this would / could be a very entertaining day out.

Which would you prefer?
I thought the team played very 'pele-esque' today. (I know it's not a word!). It was pretty refreshing to see some solid, attacking football at TCS and some of the stages of play were superb - fantastic to watch. An attacking style of play is great. So long as it's coupled with a winning mentality. This thread has got me thinking about our style of play and that of certain London club which plays in red and white. I'm in no way going to make any attempt at a direct comparison, but do they win week in, week out? And do they have a winning mentality? Please excuse me. I am drunk.

Scottish Cup
I'd love to go back to Ayr - so long as the fixture is not midweek.

OFFER: Hospitality Special vs St Mirren
Fair play to the club for trying to increase the gate revenue for what is a pretty unappealing fixture for many people in the highland and surrounding area. I still think the club needs to focus more on building a bigger fanbase. This is a start though.

What some people perhaps lose sight of is that this is voluntary site. Become a sponsor Dougal?

I only used to go to the Caley / County derbies at Telford Street. Wasn't ever really in to football when I was young. Started going to the home games when I was a student as it was about ?3 to get in with a student card. Went to quite a few Aberdeen games when I lived there but didn't travel away to Aberdeen games. If I'd moved to Edinburgh/Glasgow/ or any other major town I would have gone to watch SPL football. I love going to watch ICT -especially the away games. My wee team are Man U. Never seen a game in England in person though.

Safety first Mantis, safety first... Incidentally the players are not supposed to tape round their ankles.

Adams in witchcraft shock...
He's made us the underdogs - this is when we perform best. No doubt there will be more statements from him before Saturday.

Adams in witchcraft shock...
It is pretty funny though.

Adams on the wind up again... "“It’s in Inverness but there are three points at stake against a team doing very well. I’m sure the Hibs players are confident. They are coming off a tremendous result against Rangers and a fantastic performance against Motherwell, so they will be confident going up to Inverness on Saturday. “I’ve got a vast knowledge of Inverness. I know their style of play, I know their management team inside-out. I’ve worked with them and against them and won matches against them.” Should suit us going in as underdogs then.

Its cool - every time you open it you get a different set of questions. These are the questions used in the referee exam. Some of them seem pretty obscure in an SPL setting but during games in public parks you'd be amazed what can happen.
