Brewsters Substitutions
Yesterday was the worst I'd seen in a long time, not who he brought on but who he didn't take off. Barrowman shouldn't have started as he continues to prove that he isn't up to starting 11 quality in the SPL and the same goes for Imrie. Black coming off was just the worst thing that Brewster could do, and in that moment of madness, we just threw away every chance of a come back (who came on did a really good job and gave the team some venom but with Black still on the pitch with Vigurs, Wood and Wilson could have been made it completely different)

Imrie Hype
I meant in SPL terms. sorry my apologies. i agree i think zander could give us a different dimension down that wing. also i think vigurs has done well in that position but he's a centre midfielder not a winger so really hope zander gets a chance to prove himself.
-
If you had the say which players..
i think we have players that aren't SPL level but i think everyone deserves a chance so i wouldn't get rid of anyone at this moment in time if i was in the position to do so....end of the season if nothing changes for these players then yes but not now. the jury is out though on a few of our players.

Imrie Hype
i know i've made it clear that I dont really see what some people see in dougie but i do hope he turns out to be good player one day. i wouldnt say he's an apprentice though...he is in his third - fourth season of senior football.

Hearts -V- ICT : matchday thread
yeah i think Barrowman needs to get his fingure out. he cant blame the service because he doesn't get himself in to good positions and when he does he has a first touch like a brick wall. you mentioned that imirie put the effort in....thats not enough every player should put in 110%, thats what they get paid for, effort should come without asking...what we need is a quality performance with effort...any person off the street could go on and give a great effort but that doesnt make them a footballer. we need players to perform not just put in an effort. im not disagreeing with you i just feel we let players off for lack of quality just because they put in the effort that every professional footballer should do regardless.

Imrie Hype
I agree with Caley D - this is no place for a silly little squabble. But before I go I feel I have to let you know that it was you, CaleyP, who started the insults by implying I did not know the meaning of the word "legend". At the end of the day you don't like Imrie, I do. Nothing to get overexcited about. well technically you said "i haven't taken to you" in your first comment, which came out of the blue because i was just agreeing with the comment made before mine. it was just my opinion on Imirie. your correct though nothing to get overexcited about. im not on here to argue with fellow fans, banter yes. i just found it odd that you decided to comment on my opinion when the person that started this thread shared the same opinion. anyway i hope you are right and dougie proves me to be wrong.

Yawn, ..........................the one thing you're right about is that you certainly aren't my son. From an entirely different gene pool I fear. Now, go to bed. wow you have a problem mate...i have my opinion you have yours. dont insult me personally when you dont even know me...you asked me a qustion i answered it.

Imrie Hype
I'm different - I think he's a legend. (On the other hand - I haven't taken to you) good for you...do you know the meaning of legend...clearly not. Probably better than you do son ....... there's the traditional meaning and also the meaning which has come into modern usage. Come on, see if you can guess which one I'm using. son...well dad...doesn't really matter which one your using because he certainly isn't one. he isn't someone to be admired for his football ability and i dont think he is a myth of any kind and i dont think there is a unverifiable story surrounding the player of Dougie imirie.

im the same i just can't see what others see in Imirie. to me he just doesn't look good enough to be playing in the SPL. i think he makes a good first division player but not enough quality there to play for a SPL club.

Hearts -V- ICT : matchday thread
yeah i think your right, tokes just isn't giving us anything at the moment and he isn't giving any of the strikers a chance with those long high balls, however, saying that barrowman is very light weight, of the pace, bad first touch...hearts defence would have been loving marking barrowman...he gave us absolutely nothing as did imirie. looks like these division players we bought might actually just be division players and no more. we need more ball players on the park, players that play the ball on the ground. now i know why brew had barrowman and imirie on the bench the last couple of weeks. on the upside good to see munro back.

Imirie shouldnt be anywhere near that starting 11. disappointing.

im not meaning to be cheeky but do you really think wilson will last the hour..he hasnt really played much first team football this season and seems to have lost quite a bit of pace. im not disagreeing with him starting but i reckon a half is all you would get out him...

i think Esson should possibly be given a chance, however, if this happens Ike will lose his confidence and what might make it worse is....if Esson plays and has an awful game you know what Brew will do and that is drop him straight away and then we're left with two keepers that have no confidence....ahhh the joys of football.

5 defenders??? is that not asking for trouble considering our defenders are most prone to making mastakes? actually i apologise....McBain doesnt really count as one of our mistake prone defenders. My reasoning for 5 is that the midfield will be missed out anyway. yeah i see your point. unfortunately thats our downfall...our best players are our midfielders and to often our defenders resort to school boy punts up the park to usually noone. i think our defenders need to learn to keep the ball on the deck, otherwise we're never going to keep possession.

Reserve game today
That is a remarkably strange post... Cheers Don. You're voicing pretty much what I suspected. Was interested though, because as far as I remember, Zander got first tem experience before Vigurs and has been our "next big thing" for at least a season now, but Vigurs seems to have overtaken him in the pecking order. Possibly less competition in Vigurs preferred area of midfield, or has Vigurs simply developed more quickly. yeah i would say vigurs has overtaken him but that might be down the fact that vigurs is physically a lot stronger than zander but once zander gets physically stronger which he will do, he'll be in with a shout. you cant compare vigurs and zander though because they are different players with different footballing styles. although iain is being played on the wing iain is a centre midfielder and zander is an out and out winger. i would like to see zander givin his chance this season but i wouldnt compare iain and zander for the above reasons.

YOUTH OVERKILL
yeah i think we can both agree that we both got caught up in the moment...its good craic though. i think he'll change your mind...he may not be there yet but he does have something else that no other caley player has plus he's better place in the middle rather than the wing, i've played against some good players and i mean good players but he is in a different league when he is on his game...thats why i have so much faith in him....coz it was like chasing shadows when i was up against him...and no player has ever out classed me so much like he did. yeah does sound a bit better...

YOUTH OVERKILL
you clearly feel strongly about this, i think vigurs will change your mind though...trust me he is a far better player than imirie and reckon by the end of the season you will think so too. but for moment you have your opinion and im not going to criticise your opinion anymore as i think its unfair to do so. but i do feel you maybe went the wrong way about the youngsters with this thread. im sure you can agree you could have worded some comments differently.

YOUTH OVERKILL
both have just come back to training this week so i dont think that they have fully recovered yet. but once they have i would definitely get the two back in there. proc right back and duncan usual position. i think tokely needs competition to perform to his best. I was at the St Mirren game. I commented at half time that Vigurs and Wood should come off for Imrie and Barrowman. Vigurs allowed St Mirren to have a huge space to them selves. Wood didn?t chase after the ball. When he had it, he didn?t always know what to do it. Yes he had one reasonable shot at goal; it was too close to the keeper to stand a chance. If he had looked in front to his left, he would have found a person with a better chance than himself (I believe it was Rooney). Rooney had a really good chance but hit the upright. Wood picked up the rebound and was hopelessly lost as to what to do with it. He even fell over. Giving Wood man-of-the-match was a complete joke. I was not overly impressed with Duff. The goals St Mirren scored were rather soft give-aways. We miss Munro. I have been impressed with Black this season. His tackling and passing of the ball has been really good. What has happened to Cowie. He doesn?t seem to be playing like he did last season. I was impressed with Rooney. He puts a lot into the game. He always runs after the ball. Rooney and Barrowman work well together. It was there effort that led to Dougie Imrie?s goal against Falkirk. I just can?t imagine Wood bothering to put that kind of effort into the game. I say Imrie, Barrowman in. Our best attack is Rooney Barrowman and Imrie. We would also benefit from Duncan and Proctor being available (the sooner the better). i'd always play vigurs over imirie...vigurs is stronger, faster, a better passer of the ball, better football brain, has a lot more skill and basically is a far more better player. if imirie is to play it shouldnt be to replace vigurs thats for sure. once vigurs gets his run of games and settles in he'll control the midfiled just like he did in the reserves so easily...i watched vigurs play celtic reserves and vigurs had jarrikson(sorry not sure of the spelling) in his back pocket. this is a guy that was at chelsea and played for czech republic....still a better qulality of any player we have unfortunately. yes the level is better first team but once vigurs gets settled and confident playing first team and realises he's one of the better players in the team he'll excel. so imirie in yes but not for vigurs.
