  1. Well you can't complain that it is not an attacking selection
  2. I am not overly bothered who plays. I am more in anticipation of seeing attacking tactics and formation.
  3. He is probably just being straight and direct as usual. This is undoubtedly mostly down to agents and the club being unable to compete financially. "We are finding it difficult to get one or two over the line and we are finding it difficult to keep who we want to keep" - Well nothing new there then. Again undoubtedly due to agents looking for that bit more and better "offers" coming in from elsewhere. "We are busy trying to bring someone to the club." - Just trying to emphasise that the club are not just sitting on their erseholes but actively seeking out new players. Caley Thistle lost midfielder Nick Ross to Dundee last summer, while their former strikers, Edward Ofere and Billy McKay, now line up for Dundee United, Ryan Christie was sold to Celtic, full-back Graeme Shinnie moved to Aberdeen, while midfielder Marley Watkins joined Barnsley - I think that we are all mightily cheesed off that we lost all of that lot - but we certainly weren't surprised either. They all left for better deals and better careers and significantly more spondoolachs to boot. "We are going to lose Vincent and Danny Williams and it's our job to replace that," - Obviously a fact but definite hint of frustrated sarcasm. Probably moves for lengthier contracts and probably "promises" of regular first team football. "Our budget will not be right up there, we will be in the bottom two in the league. We have to be very shrewd in the way we spend our money." - Actually totally spot on. "I've never heard anything, but what will happen, just from being in the game a long while, is that Miles Storey will probably move somewhere on the back of the season he has had here," said the Caley Thistle boss. And that will not be his choosing. It will probably be the agent trying to cash in. If Miles Storey wanted to come back here for roughly the same deal then we would jump at it." - Again spot on and a shure sign that Storey is offski. The club have to do more and that starts with the manager and his tactics, philosophy and atmosphere he creates - Yes Yogi has been frustrating with his determination to play a style of football. One which may have paid off if we had the calibre of the players that have left or have been injured. BUT I am afraid that money really does talk these days. When you buy from the bargain basement you are taking a chance. Some times it pays off and sometimes it feckin doesn't. And the other problem is that when those players shine they immediately grab the attention of the vultures from other clubs - not always bigger or better clubs but wealthier clubs. Why wait and see with the guy. Go and get him signed up! - Do you really think that an offer has not been tabled - If Miles Storey wanted to come back here for roughly the same deal then we would jump at it."
  4. Finances have a major influence, agents have a major influence, transfer "rewards" have a major influence. Most of the players that we have "lost" have tended to be either players who could play at a higher level or fringe players. To me the players that we need to hold on to are the Warrens, Drapers and Polworths - and we do tend to do that. To me the "problem" has to be in our "scouting" system which does not appear as effective as in the past. I have never liked loaners but that is the way of the world. I would be looking at a definite link with an English club where we try out the promising youngsters of a higher potential and look at strengthening the rest of the squad with lower league players (Scotland and England), giving them short, trial contracts in the hope that we unearth a player or at least strengthen the squad. Unfortunately we do not appear either to promote or encourage some of our Development squad. And I don't see anything wrong with. "Sugar Daddy" and I am surprised, given the potential of the team in recent seasons, that one has not come on board, especially when the Highlands, tourism and good old fashioned emotive marketing could be very profitable.
  5. This could be a rise from the grave just like Wimbledon.
  6. Yes this is getting very interesting and changing from game to game. St Jones Town - 2 to play - Arabs (h) and Killie (a) - +1 goal difference and 43 points - two very difficult games but capable of 4 points at least - predict 47 points = TOP SIX Muversmell - 2 to play - ICT (a) and Cellic (h) - - 8 goal difference and 41 points - that could mean a "must win" at Sneck. ICT win and they could drop out - predict 41 points = BOTTOM SIX Tinkerville - 2 to play - Dungdee (a) and Plastic Whistle (h) - -5 goal difference and 40 points - again two difficult games but can see them winning at home - predict 43 points = BOTTOM SIX (on goal difference) Dungdee - 3 to play - Tinkerville (h), Hamilton (a) and Cellic home - -3 goal difference and 37 points - Tinkerville is the biggie, Hamilton should be a breeze and nowt v Cellic - predict 43 points - TOP SIX (on goal difference) Plastic Whistle - 3 to play - Killie (h), Arabs (h) and Tinkerville (a) - -7 goal difference and 37 points - Can see them beating Killie and then nowt - predict 40 points = BOTTOM SIX ICT - 3 to play - Muversmell (h), Jam Tarts (h) and Arabs (a) - - 4 goal difference and 36 points - Can see us getting 7 points out of that - predict 43 points = TOP SIX (on goal difference) Hamilton - 2 to play - Aberdire (a) and Dungdee (h) - - 17 goal difference and 33 points - Can see them staying where they are and in a real dog-fight - predict 33 points = BOTTOM SIX Killie - 2 to play - Plastic Whistle (a) and St Jones Town (h) - -24 goal difference and 28 points - Draw at the most at home - predict 29 points = BOTTOM SIX Arabs - 3 to play - St Jones Town (a), Plastic Whistle (a) and ICT (h) - -23 goal difference and 21 points - Can see them getting a win in Maryhill - predict 24 points = BOTTOM SIX So the league positions going into the split: 4: St Jones Town - 47 points 5: Dungdee - 43 points 6 ICT - 43 points 7 Tinkerville - 43 points 8 Muversmell - 43 points 9 Plastic Whistle - 40 points 10 Hamilton - 33 points 11 Killie - 29 points 12 Arabs - 24 points COME AND HAVE A GO IF YA FINK YA ARE HARD ENUFF - MUN
  7. Bring back Jimmy Calder
  8. I feel that Caledonian FC would be acceptable but the use of Inverness and any other associated name - either Inverness Caledonian or Inverness Thistle - should not be allowed. I could accept Thistle FC.
  9. Anything Vigurs can do I can do better
  10. Life and death can always put football, success and survival into perspective.
  11. Always blew, Many have posted about a change of manager and even added to threads about the choice of the next manager. Many have severely criticised Yogi and many have called for him to go. I have criticised his recent tactics and selections but I still want him to stay and have been loyal to him. Of course he got out of jail today but perhaps you are too thick to appreciate the sarcastic jail end comment. It was a fantastic result and was even better because he changed the system, the selection and the tactics - as advocated by my good self and numerous others. It was also a huge step towards survival which is still the major goal. I hope that you understand that and that your communication skills are significantly sharper than your intellect and your command of language and written prose. You may need to ask a friend what most of this response means. Mr MacKenzie
  12. Shaun is passionate if not incredibly impulsive. Many shared his actual views if not in such a demonstrative manner. Yogi has got out of the jail (end) today but he has made many mistakes this season. Once survival is attained can we look to next season.
  13. By the way interesting quote at Cheltenham festival yesterday from Victoria Pendlington. " I love to ride and have been doing it for years but I never knew what a jump really was until I met Yogi"
  14. Well that makes pleasant reading. Will have to wait fear the match attenders but it looks like Yogi did eject the crazy 3-5-2 or even 3-6-1 formation. Interested to hear how we did set up. Can see the "loyalty card" to Devine at centre back and Tremarco. Would prefer Meekings in the centre and Danny Williams at left back myself. Also agree with Chris that Polworth and Vigurs do not give us enuff width. It will be interesting to see if he perseveres with Hughes as a target man. That clearly was not the initial intention but may be a master stroke. I still think that Storey wasn't match fit but I also like the look of Roberts - although Yogi does not appear to be so. Foran is more of a presence these days and I suspect was fecked after the Hibees excursion. Keep this squad fit and free of suspension and we can see this campaign out successfully. Fraid it is a case of looking forward to next season - probably minus Tansey at least. But I still do not agree that we should have "surrendered" the cup but hope that Yogi has learned a lesson from his "messing".
  15. One quick post mortem. As soon as I saw the selection I feared the worst. If you are going to put the league survival first you do NOT risk Foran and Meekings. So it was NOT about concentrating on the league. From a financial perspective that does also NOT make sense. You do NOT make widespread selection changes. Once again it was chop in change. How on earth was it seen to keep the formation. That was Butcheresque and I am afraid that Yogi is showing that same arrogant, crass stubbornness and it smells a bit of contract insurance to me. Wedderburn, Vigurs and Draper - now that is a silky, slick trio is it not. How did Horner merit a start ? And Hughes is not a centre forward - he is a midfielder. I could go on and on. I am not saying Hughes out but lets judge on the rest of this season and IF Meekings and Foran are still deemed fit for Tinkerville the selection and formation will be interesting to note.
  16. That selection is shocking - how on earth can we. Have Polworth, Roberts and Williams on the bench. What formation is he playing out there ?
  17. Not sure if we should have risked that pair in this game.
  18. Foran and Meekings start - Polworth and Roberts on the bench ?!!
  19. Even less sensible than now - speak fer yerself
  20. If you followed Caley to Perth in the Scottish Cup you would have a comparison
