Who remembers Colin Samuels - now he would have been perfect - Perhaps it is an omen ?
-
I think I may have assessed somebody with similar delusions the other night. OK lets add another couple of questions- Can we survive going up with the current squad of players and the financial situation ? Did we have a better squad and were in a considerably better financial position on the last occasion ?
-
Does anybody actually want us to be promoted this season ? If we are doing to go up then we need to have the core of a structure and finances ready to support us - if not we face the prospect of being the proverbial whipping boys which could result in the crowds dwindling further and the "support" diminishing. If we had real ambition to go up then it would have been clearly apparent from the comings and goings. And are we also stepping back in the realms of the club communicating with the club base. This has been as poor a league this season as it has been for a long time. At the present time we could end up first or fifth and that could happen in a few games. Kilmarnock are massively odds on now. They may take a few games to get going and I can see us picking up at least a point tomorrow.

That was simply awful apart from winning a point. The Gayfield weather will win the home team more points this season.

Yip and I have had a New Year vision and suspect that it is the Arbroath team in the dressing room after the game.

Jhesus - This bloody forum is jam packed with old farts from all over the globe. We will be getting updates on the feckin Ice Hockey next. -
Just noticed this and so sad. I will always remember his usual welcome to me - which was a sigh and a "you're back home again" but I always got a handshake and a free dram on the way out.

Well that was well fought and deserved. Killie never really threatened. I will go for Allardice (MOM) followed by Mckay and Sutherland (effort). As a TV and part time away supporter what the feck has gone down in the interim. Top of the Feckin League !!- 60 replies

I think that I will reserve judgement !! Crossing, final ball and finishing lacking again, scrappy stuff which could suit Killie and their penchant to steal games late on. But we ARE the better team.- 60 replies

IMMORTAL HOWDEN ENDER replied to Robert's topic in Caley Thistle
I am even going to forego the traditional Smileymometer for reasons that I will explain later. Three descriptive words in alphabetical order - Dissapointing - Insipid - Toothless. The first half was devoid of a decent attempt from either side. Best way to describe it was like watching two people playing Fifa on PS5 who have never played before !! Broadfoot was probably the victim of a Kirkcaldy sprinkler ploy as they soaked the pitch and the away end for ten minutes before the game started. And as for the second half I could have stopped off at the Sea World exhibition as watching two gangs of feckin crabs fighting would have been exactly the same. The sending off at the end of the first half did look harsh but I will need a VAR view to decide. I actually was worried about how we would fare against 10 men and it was actually Raif who went into "defend or die" mode and looked dangerous on the break. We played like a team of Ray Wilkins and rarely looked threatening. We did use the width but instead of going for the line we passed sideways or backwards. The only times that we looked dangerous was when McGregor and Gardyne (for the goal) hit the byeline. Again need another look but I think that Mckay fluffed the cut back and it landed nicely for Welsh who managed to fire through a number of bodies. Now I have to take task with Robert as I felt that Raif focussed on Zanatta on Duffy in the second half. Zanatta simply provided the guile for the goal. Thankfully he was then swopped to the right to try and cover Gardyne who was beginning to pull the strings on that wing. Zanatta could even have won it at the death. At the end of the day plating 10 men may well have been our downfall and we needed to break them down and simply did not have the required penetration or last pass to do that. Still like a few views before me I would have taken a draw at the start - and apart from Killie the other scores favoured us. As for the Smileymometer I would have given to everyone and there was nobody who stood out. I also feel that Doddsie could have double teamed Zanatta and this was NOT a game for Doran. And as for the referee well he was feckin excellent !!!!! -

On Saturday night I am confident that we will still be top of the league and a Doddsie will celebrate at least a draw. -
Fitness - playing as a team and for a team - defensive organisation - very effective on the break - cover for most places - very experience management and coaching staff - and the one ingredient that has been sorely missing for a few seasons - BELIEF

Loved the chants after the goals - "He used to be alright and then he was a Tink but he's alright again" and then the easier "he used to be a Tink but he's alright now.". So nice to see peeps from the Dark Side making a mark at the Dump instead of vice versa
