ICT -V- Dunfermline : Matchday Thread
At long last Lady Luck smiles on us - sounds like that was an incredible let off. Good news is that Terry is on the touchline and he may be changing the system.

Have to explain that one further !! It sounds very nervy stuff.

ICT -V- Dunfermline : Matchday Thread
What an interesting selection - I wonder what system they will utilise ? Our father who art in heaven ; Hallowed Be thy name ; Give us this day - three feckin points - dont care how. Amen IN TERRY WE TRUST

Dunfermline
Full of feckin confidence - Terry says that the St Johns Town performance was merely a glitch and everybody is focussed. Terry was so miffed last week that he is going to ring the changes in regard to personnel and we will even see the new system unveiled this afternoon. It will be a shame to see Foran on the bench but Shane up front should allow Tade to finally display is goalscoring instincts and he is heading for a hat trick. As Terry quite rightly pointed out - the international break caused havoc to our preparation and focus. Dumbfarmlife are struggling badly for injuries so they must be using the same training manual as ourselves but they are there for the taking. We will jettison them firmly in to the bottom spot where they will be firmly embedded for the rest of the season whilst we will soar up the table in to the Top Six reckoning and a Cup semi final trip to hampden looms in the New Year. We should get a banner like they have at the Emirates - "In Terry We Trust" - Bring it On

Training Methods
We went in to panic mode didnt we ? - they are cheap and available - have a past pedigree but why would any club release such players with such rave potential ? - which could have been avoidable as CC expresses. Lets face it - were we fitter and more disciplined under the Brewster fitness model ? - blend that with a proper coach and Terry's personality and charisma - with say Robbo in a senior position and Park as the trainer/coach ? Wow - could that be what the Muirfield Mills Consortium are seeking ?

The Caley Curse
Or perhaps it was simply becos he knew it was a crap post

Training Methods
that would be amazing but the downside is i would imagine a man with a cv as impressive as that would probably cost more than most players we could afford ...as nice as it would be :) And how much have the injuries cost the club ? - in regard to loan signings etc. - plus a fitter squad means SPL consolidation, better performances, better crowds, more media attention - and what would that mean to the finances ? Feck me - employ me and Capital Caley and we would be in Europe in at least two seasons.

And where does that omission / fault lie ? Why hasnt it happened to every other SPL team ?

Team for Dunfermiline
Tomorrow's selection and system will be very interesting to view - also interested to hear the quote from TB in the Courier today: At St Johnstone, there was probably a loss of focus after coming back from a two-week break for the internationals. ( ) "However, there?s no reason why that should happen again on Saturday and I?m happy that everyone is as focused as they should be. (that is reassuring) "I?ll have a look at the options available to me within the squad, but one or two have definitely given me some food for thought this week. (which one or two - Foran ? Proctor ? Tade ?) "We could also change the system around, either from the start of the game or during it, so we?ll have a look at what we want to do and take it from there." (during the game ?!!)

The Caley Curse
Well that just goes to show what stress, rejection, helplessness, hopelessness and worthlessness can do to an individual in a short period of time. I am reliably informed that he may also be trying to mask himself from the paaparazzi.

Training Methods
Oh grief - the usual defensive, ultra loyal response. Terry and Mo are simply not above criticism !! The OP was of course slightly tongue in cheek but are we holding back on training ? What is the current fitness regime ? Who the feck is monitoring fitness and preparation for a return ? Hayes is reported to have suffered a groin strain on his return - that totally reeks of not being fit / ready or not having warmed up properly.

Training Methods
FOUR TWO FOUR - MARCH 2007 Butcher is back in the UK after his stint in charge at Sydney which saw the side only just scrape into the finals - and then get booted out in the first round. After he left, it was revealed he had only organised one proper training session during his whole time in charge. Terry Butcher orders Caley Thistle players to go easy at training as injuries mount Feb 16 2011 INVERNESS boss Terry Butcher has warned his players to go easy in training - as he can't afford any more crocks. Butcher, who only had 16 players in his pool for the 3-3 weekend draw at St Mirren, said: "We can't give the players hard training in case we pick up any more injuries. "We're going to have to rein it in a little so we give them the best chance to recover from their efforts at St Mirren." BUT: Butcher revealed he relied on phone calls and internet chats with his former Motherwell sidekick Maurice Malpas to get him through the hard times. "It must have been like the Samaritans in the early weeks when things weren't going well for either of us," he says. THOUGHTS But here is another Terry quote from 4-2-4 which would have got him into deep trouble with us . Everything was a test and day after day there was another problem but we got through them," he said. "We were like a gypsy club and I felt like a nomad

The Caley Curse
The exclusion from Inverness has taken its toll but Lionel is still smiling BEFORE AND AFTER
-
The Caley Curse
Phew for a minute there I thought that you were referring to the North Korean Cal Lee Dee and the Ukranian Manfer Jobb. Thankfully Butcher doesnt do things in moderation.

Butcher OUT!
Perhaps some individuals were carrying too much responsibility / blame on their shoulders. Perhaps it may have helped if somebody in authority openly shouldered some of the blame. Ouch - I have just dislocated my shoulder. Ma old pal Buckett is closer to the truth. If we were in this position by trying some more of the home grown produce and/or chucking them out - then I would have more sympathy.

Here It Is.....
SHOES ON Perhaps in the case of Mr Brewster the decision was taken over a course of time (at least a feckin year IMHO)- by the way we got beat !!
-
January Transfer Window
Well - sorry to mention it - but this will all depend on the outcome of the Muirfield Mills "bid" and the backroom politics. Why are we looking elsewhere when we have players sitting on the bench week in, week out who are due a chance and will play for the shirt. The injuries coming back should be like new signings. Spend any money on a solid centre back and a solid centre forward although I concede that those categories are hard to come by.

Bounce matches
The problem with "bounce games" is that they are non-competitive in the meaning that there are agreements regarding any zealous tackling etc., and therefore they are a bit like a training game - probably even less contact. That can show up the skilful player in a good light but doesnt add to committment etc. What they should do is to allow the team to look at different systems, trying out squad players and trying out dead ball moves etc. It really doesnt make up for the loss of the reserve leagues. The positives are that the games are be played against SPL opposition. For instance if Sutherland and McKay scored against Midden should that be a precursor to a SPL start ?

Here It Is.....
Here is a wee clipboard to stick up in Terry's office Dear Terry - Here is a list of things to do - give me a shout if you require clarification or a wee session 1.Self-absorbed (acts like everything is all about him or her) 2.Entitled (makes the rules; breaks the rules) 3.Demeaning (puts you down, bullyish) 4.Demanding (of whatever he or she wants) 5.Distrustful (suspicious of your motives when you?re being nice to him or her) 6.Perfectionistic (rigidly high standards ? his or her way or no way) 7.Snobbish (believes he or she is superior to you and others; gets bored easily) 8.Approval seeking (craves constant praise and recognition) 9.Unempathetic (uninterested in understanding your inner experience, or unable to do so) 10.Unremorseful (cannot offer a genuine apology) 11.Compulsive (gets overly consumed with details and minutiae) 12.Addictive (cannot let go of bad habits; uses them to self-soothe) 13.Emotionally detached (steers clear of feelings) And finally for the dressing room - a poster and a wee aide memoire

Butcher OUT!
Good post Stevie - personally I am not even close to suggesting that TB should go but his dogged pereverance does suggest to me that he is sticking his head in the sand and not listening to others around him. I really dont think that he ia a good coach but he can make up fer it with his charisma and personality.
-
Richie Foran
Foran is being played out of position - he is also evidently carrying an injury and isnt fully fit - the captaincy, his lack of form and frustration and the sometime ineptness and lack of effort by some of his peers - are all having an effect. Tade must also be a nightmare to play with. But at the end of the day TB is selecting him and playing him through an injury. Shall we start threads on Proctor, Tansey, Davis etc. ??

Away ground oddities
The "owl" at Tynecastle - the famous hedge at Brechin - the portaloos at Gretna. Those were the Cyclops at Tinkerville and you really have to be brain damaged to support Elgin.

Butcher and Malpas extend contracts
Apologies but had to put the psychology hat on. Could it actually be a combination of all three ?

Team for Dunfermiline
Lets face it - it will be the same team that started in Perth !!

Burley Praises Tade....
I now understand how Burley has fecked up every team that he has managed since Romanov kicked him out. Was he on the Smirnoff in the Innes.
