Butcher has charisma and is a charming personality but he is displaying that narcisstic arrogance where he comes across as being beyond reproach at times. It is as much about setting up a system and trying to maintain it plus selection consistency and perseverence. Chopping and changing when there is injuries is acceptable - chopping and changing when an individual has an off day or an off moment is not acceptable. Said it a lot of times before but the "togetherness" ingredient is sadly lacking at the moment - if the very loyal fans are beginning to voice doubts then there must be doubts about the solidity of the dressing room as well. Butcher can change that and he can turn it around but he has to start taking the flak of the players - and now even the support - by burdening some of the blame and bringing some consistency to ICT. It has been a very reactionary feel to the management this season.

Just watched the goals on Sky and I cant believe that we took on Proctor at half time - please, please tell me that he wasnt played as a central defender ? - he was certainly at fault at the second goal. And please tell me that Golobart was injured - and we are not looking at yet another case of destroying a players' confidence and another Aldred scenario ? It is not all about the injuries - the pre season was a shambles and we were wholly caught out by the early start. We kicked off with a new team, with unfit players and no time to gel - and the lack of a recognised central defender, holding midfielder and of course a recognised centre forward. Butcher has to take a fair deal of the blame as he has been chopping and changing the team (apart from injuries)and adhering to a creaky system since the off and his loyalty to some individuals and ignorance of the potential of other is concerning me. For example - Morrison has been solid of late - why was he jettisoned ?

Well I reckon I am a marked man I have only lasted to the end of one Tannadump game in five. It aint worth the spondoolicks or the hassle - Dungdee United have the worst and most zealous stewards in Scotland.

Aye but that was becos - I fink - Scotland v Holland was on the next day - and what a feckin weekend that was - apart from the wonder goal equaliser from McTink near the end. The only way that it would ever work was if it was a derby occasion - although there would be a lot to be said if everyone got a day off on the Friday - happy hours returned to Inverness hostelries - the game kciked off at 20.00 and the Caley Club had a lock in afterwards.

I suspect that Morrison will be jettisoned - possibly Ross - and we may as well have loaned out Sutherland.

Very impressed with Davis and Chippendale has deffo potential - but how many share my concern that this pair may become first team starters shortly - are only here to the New Year - massive opportunity to both of the from their own personal perspectives but will again mean that some fo our local boys will be sitting on the bench. The guy probably saved the club and totally secured our SPL status - BUT he had his own agenda and fair dos to him - BUT for the good of this club he should bow out - as perhaps he should have done in 2006. I have all the time for devotees but little for narcissists trying to save face. Jojndo, there's no "probably" about it - he did save and advance the club. Hello - listen to me for once :irritated: Lots of feckin good comments on the latter part of this thread - this is not all about having loyalty to and faith in ICT - of course voluntary work could save some money - where does all of that stop - get community service involved or get inmates from Porterfield to do some time on the decorating and hand out menial tasks to the community patients of New Craig. Charles has got it spot feckin bang on: 1) Increase income / Reduce expenditure. 2) Accept a long term existence outwith the SPL. Scary but as simple as that Hoping that one off windfalls will continue to come along indefinitely to keep the wolf from the door isn't a realistic strategy and there aren't really any assets left to sell off. Personally I have began to save up for the Texan pre season tour Plus 12th Man has inadvertently got it rite - hope he has not zoned in to my psychic airways - and who would build such a project with dollars behind it - Tullochs or Muirfields ? LET THE RENEWED POWER STRUGGLE CONTINUE = But there is only one winner for ICT. Plus I have given Dougal a green dot - but I never give out red dots as they are usually given becos peeple dont agree with the view being banded. My only grievance is that you should have a separate table for red and green dots - that way I could be well to the feckin top of both.
