Kerrea Gilbert ex aresnal
Butcher - Inverness Courier - 12/07/2011 : Butcher had also had to put his plans to sign Kerrea Gilbert on hold as he waits to see how his calf injury responds to treatment. The former Arsenal defender had been in talks with Caley Thistle about signing permanently after a successful trial spell. ?It?s a small calf strain that Kerrea?s got, but it?s going to rule him out of action for a few weeks,? said Butcher. Karl Robinson - MK Dons boss - BBC Sport 11/07/2011 : MK Dons boss Karl Robinson has handed trials to Jay O'Shea, John Dunleavy, Kerrea Gilbert and Ian McLoughlin. But then qualifies this with : Because we're running on a small squad this year we need bodies to come in and help us out. "We help them out because we give them training, it gives other clubs a chance to have a look at them, but I was happy with them." Bottom line is that he has a history of poor discipline and I doubt whether TB will or should stand for this.

INS AND OUTS ?
For once I am finding some of the criticism a bit baffling. Have I got this right ? Please feel free to correct me or challenge me please as I try to get our squad situation in to perspective. OUT - Grant Munro (Baffling) - Golly (no surprise, over the hill for SPL now and not even a squad player) - Royster (potentially a squad player but has to make way) - Duncan (again a squad player but wants regular football) - Johnson (no loss) - Innes (never rated him, another over the hill - Hogg (slightly baffled by that one but heard that he also wanted to go) - Obdhiambo (nuff said !!) - Bloominghitte (far too injury prone and woosy) - Sanchez (SFL player in my book and never really fitted in) IN / NEW CONTRACT - Sutherland (much better prospect than Rory IMHO - could really improve over next 2 seasons) - Rosscoe (in for the centre half position, the experience - would have kept hogg otherwise, needs pace alongside him) - Morrison (improving and a good squad player) - Tansey (could prove to be best buy since Rooney) - Tade (never wholly impressed me but pace and scores goals) - Aldred (yet to see but appears to have won some over already) - Meekings (sounds like a good squad player) - Shinnie (certainly showed potential but never got a breakthrough - could be another very good buy) - Stevenson ( squad player who needs building up. Plus we could still get Alex Cooper and Gilbert would be an asset. Coxy and wee Shinnie still to come back from injury - Hayes hopefully back to his best and the prospect of Doran on loan again. After all that I feel that - if / when we add another central defender then whats the feckin problem ? And lets finish off with a wee bit of controversy - looks to me that we have swapped a lot of older, nearing the twilights of their career journeymen for a bunch of younger, hungry to impress potential SPL players but many with "experience" at clubs arguably at a higher level than us !! When ya play wee team in pre season ya are on a hiding to nothing - this week will be interesting but I doubt that we will see the real ICT until Muversmell.

The Pre-Season Thread
I would view next year as the year to stabilise the club and look to a mid table placement and safety as sooon as possible. The trick will then be to keep the same squad of players together and reap the benefit for the following season. Lets face it we are still not in the ralms of simply expecting a Top Six finish - we are a club who once again is trying to establish itself as a SPL outfit - both on and off the park. As I have said in another thread the only issue that I have with TB is the "hoofing" of Munro (apt statement !!)but he is building for the future and this will take a bit of time. I also suspect that we will be looking to play the stamina card this season, trying to be stronger defensively at home and we are really made to play on the break away from home. People are talking about "experience" but at the back we do have Tokely and Esson and Foran has to be the "leader" this season - plus in Shinnie, Ross, Sutherland we actually have yoof with SPL experience - if we can get Hayes and Doran ticking I personally feel that it could be an exciting year. Agree about a central defender but lets wait and see what trialist pitches up this week.

Actually I should have been clearer in respect of if what I heard happened then the muppets were rite.

Would you ever take Darren Dodds back?
Leg ends should remain leg ends. Memories are like mammories - they remain forever ample and pert in the conscious mind but in relaity they droop and sag.

The Pre-Season Thread
There was an article on Sky Sports just now in regard to Bamba at Blackburn Rovers and rite beside him in the first team pre season bunch was unfortunately Aaron Doran.

The Pre-Season Thread
See ya at the Red Lion - probably around 6 ish - if anybody else is interested then here is the route - perhaps Steve Taylor can set us time targets !! 1. Head towards Aldershot from the Lion Brewery and turn right at the roundabout (sadly closed pub called Dover Arms where you used to have a really decent pint and the landlord would also sell you some eggs from his duck pond out the back!!!!). Wander up and over the hill and in about half a mile, you get to a boozer called the Standard of England. Ale not bad! 2. From there, turn left at the roundabout and head along for about another third to half a mile and you will find Ash United FC on your right (keep your eyes peeled for it). The clubhouse does a nice pint and they are a pretty friendly club. They have a home friendly that day so should be open. 3. Carry along the road in the same direction for another few hundred metres (5 mins walk) and you get to a boozer called The Greyhound on a roundabout. It is an Ember Inn place and does well priced food and half decent ales! 4. At this roundabout go right from the direction you have come. This is probably the longest stretch of walking as another pub on the way has also shut. But about ? of a mile along (pass over a huge roundabout over the dual carriageway and then three sets of lights and continue for a while) then on your left hand side is the Red Lion. Good ale!! Nice beer garden too. I would probably take a taxi for this one to save a bit of time? 5. After this, carry on round about 100m and you will find the Golden Lion on your right (you are now on Aldershot High Street although it is not actually the main street of the town!!!). This pub (I think still?) is run by an ex-Aldershot favourite called Joe Jopling. Nice chap and played hundreds of times for the shots over many years. This is a real Shots pub. 6. Carry along the High Street for another 3-400m and when you see the Texaco garage, turn right up the hill immmediately before it and maybe 150m up on the left there is a very small place called the Albion. 7. 200m further up the hill you will find the Royal Staff pub which is where I normally go before matches (I normally get there around 1.30 on match days). Best kept ale in town and very much away fan friendly. Nice beer garden out the back and a big bouncy castle out back as well should anyone be getting silly by that time!!! 8. From the Staff 100m up the hill and then a swift right and another 50m to La Fontaine which is the boozer at the away end of the ground. Not greatest place in my opinion. Often aggro when big games are on as well but I doubt any aggro with ICT (mainly only kicks off for Oxford, Hereford, Brentford, etc). 9. Other side of the roundabout (20m) is the entrance to the away section.

Livi roll call
Sounds like typical pre season fare - thank feck fer going to new places, camaraderie and alcohol !!
-
Livi roll call
Would prefer to wait fer a ICT perspective - Yon temple is more interested in txts from the Muvversmell game and probably has been watered and influenced by pre match Liviscum.

Cheers to the future
I am being wholly serious - the only decision that I cant fathom is the release of Grant Munro - although rumour has it that he was told that he could not be gauranteed a starting slot.

ICT pitch
Feck me - somebody refers to drainage sytems and look what feckin eminates.
-
ICT pitch
It should be OK but we are well out of the Aquifer Activation season.

Liam Molesworth
I am reliably informed that the reason behind his dismissal was that the coach felt that he was more of a millet washroom. And that a higher echelon was involved and that may suggest a "bent agreement".

The Pre-Season Thread
How apt - well spotted that man - :rotflmao: So are there any takers for the Aldershot pub crawl - as I have now received the actual route march from my mucker Scott !!

Cheers to the future
Am I alone in feeling that the ins and outs this pre season are a most encouraging sign for the future of ICT - We are not going for glam signings or overpriced sugnings - but we are recruiting a bunch of high potential younger bracket players - who to be fair may or may not make it - but that is building fer the future in my book and we arent going for loan signings or Johnny Foreigners looking fer a wage and a move upwards. I doff ma flat cap to Terry and Mo for being so "brave" to go for this sort of outlook - Get this type of squad to gel together and we will hold our own, install that feeling of gratitude and loyalty to ICT - and we may well shock a few this season. I actually feel more confident pre season than I ever have done. This feels like a together squad all round that has something to prove and have the shop window to do so in. BRING IT FECKIN ON - CALEYAWAY WITH TERRY AND MO
