  1. The penny feckin drops ?The honest man must be a perpetual renegade, the life of an honest man a perpetual infidelity. For the man who wishes to remain faithful must take himself perpetually unfaithful to all the continual, successive, indefatigable, renascent errors.? Charles Peguy quotes (French Poet, Philosopher and Essayist, 1873-
  2. Almost totally agree again - Butcher is raising the image - the problem is that it leaves Misspass in charge. John Motson is a legend - second only to David Coleman. But thank feck humpbackruin doesnt play fer ICT - reckon he would be a muppet.
  3. Perhaps this article may be of assistance: Gypsy 1. A member of a people that arrived in Europe in migrations from northern India around the 14th century, now also living in North America and Australia. Many Gypsy groups have preserved elements of their traditional culture, including an itinerant existence and the Romany language. 2. See Romany. 3. One inclined to a nomadic, unconventional way of life. 4. A person who moves from place to place as required for employment, especially: a. A part-time or temporary member of a college faculty. b. A member of the chorus line in a theatre production. c. A supporter of Ross County Football Club. The comedian Ben Miller has told FHM magazine that he has been battling with the BBC over the use of the word "Gypsy" in a comedy sketch for his show with Alexander Armstrong, The Armstrong and Miller Show (which will be broadcast next month): "We're having a debate at the moment with the BBC over whether we can say Gypsies, because they say Gypsies is a racist term, and you think "Yes it is but that's the point that we're making, that we were more racist in the 70s than we are now". "We wanted to make fun of racist public information films from the seventies, and considered using the word "Gypsy" in that context. After discussing the issue both amongst ourselves and with the BBC, we decided to use a different word, so that the target (racism) was clearer and the joke was funnier. These discussions are a normal, healthy part of writing a comedy show and help to make sure that we end up with something we can all have a ruddy good laugh at." The tale, not entirely surprisingly, is covered by the Daily Mail, along with other papers today, although it doesn't actually use the phrase "political correctness gone mad". Gill Brown, of the London Gypsy and Traveller Unit, told the Mail: "Romany Gypsies are an ethnic group so it depends on the way you are using it. If you use it in the correct context it is not racist. However, it can still be used as a slur and that is racist. But I don't know how Ben Miller was using it. The word was used in a very racist and discriminatory way for many years and then what happened was that the term moved to traveller to be all encompassing. So anybody that could be described as a traveller or a Gypsy became a traveller." A BBC spokesman said: "There are no banned words on the BBC; "Gypsy" isn't a banned word. This wasn't about the word itself, but about the sketch as a whole and the potential to cause offence. As with all comedy, it's about context, and in this particular case we felt there were less offensive ways of making the same joke." In the post-Sachsgate world, is the BBC being forced to become over-sensitive? Or is this just sensible cultural awareness? If you hate the feckin travellers clap your hands ?
  4. Who put the MMIK in Mike Smith ?
  5. I reckon, in the current climate, that I may be arrested for existing / breathing
  6. Ah the memories - and where are the threads about yon CaleyThistle/RossCounty fan who threatened legal action - what were his names ??
  7. Finding maself tending to agree with humpbackruin here. Any game againsy the ******* is important to win but the Alba Cup Final should provide us with a feckin good day out - full stop - and we need a feckin confidence boost pronto. The Doomhammers is a must win as Hairy alludes to but I really do not think that they will stay the course. I do not want Denzil to net but I hope that he and Bazza are given a standing home ovation and I hope that nobody complains about that !!
  8. Mike Smith is an ersehole (I take it that is a term of banter as it is speelt wrongly ?) - always has been. An eminent member of the muppets who are slowly destroying this club. Afraid there is not much we can do about it but it leaves everybody open to being thrown out - which will undoubtedly lead to some of the Barstewards dribbling at the thought of being able to use their muscle indiscriminately. I am being hugely serious that I have cancelled travelling overnight as I am seriously concerned that I may be one that is targetted - even if I go with sellotape around my gob and it aint worth losing my job over. It will be a long, long time before I enter the TCS again but will spend my spondoolachs on going away. Feck the Muppets. Caley D - you say dont go for tit for tat - but dont you just wish the Old Filth were still coming to town ?!!
  9. Personally I feel that part of the reason is the new stadium - in the First Division the singing section STOOD together and sometimes packed in together - there was a good atmosphere the season that we won the First Division - but again it is always better when we were winning. Perhaps Bobby Mann would disagree !!
  10. Smiffy is a muppet
  11. Wow - it is a good job that you didnt say that the sesh were meeting the muppets about the gypsies.
  12. Yes - I am always rite - well usually. Thanks for the acclaim.
  13. What we are also lacking in is consistency and confidence. We are not playing as a team.
  14. Would it be helpful to have a list of words/phrases that are likely to be edited ?
  15. Question to Mods - A few weeks ago I got a polite "warning" about the use of the word muppet - given the current client should I use another collective word - clearly not erseholes though ?
  16. It is not just about yesterday - you have to take the shocking display at Airdrie into consideration as well. Perhaps another question to ponder is - "Are the players taking the p!ss ?"
  17. Feck me there are a rite load of IHE clones on here :( Who appointed Butcher ? Why did they appoint him ? What did Butcher inherit ? How much funding has Butcher been given to strengthen the team ? Who agreed to allow Butcher to continue to do other things ? BUT the settling in period is over - one last question : Do we now have a settled system and a clear first team selection ? You have to admire them cos they are diverting all the flak and blame once again.
  18. If Lionel was racially abused then the person responsible should be banned for life. It is not so long ago that certain individuals were calling for me to be banned for life for using that specific g word. I did apologise to the individual I made the comment about as I could appreciate that there was a specific cultural reason for the offence to be taken - even though I didnt agree with the context. The world is going politically mad - it is a traditional, long standing wind up fer fecks sake. Will the stop us from calling players names like Golly or Brownie or Blackie. Lets just hope that we dont ever sign anybody called Golly Gypsy.
  19. Unfortunately Butcher is a muppets muppet !!! And I am reliably informed that it has dawned on him.
  20. Very much doubt it. Brewster should of been gone long before he was. Many would probably argue he shouldn't have been able to return in the first place. We may still be in the top flight had this been carried through, suppose we'll never know though. I don't see any problem with them appointing Butcher, it was clearly between him and Robbo. Maybe Robbo never got it because of issues between himself and the board/shareholders, whatever, I don't know much of the background details to be honest, but some people out there do, and fair play if they don't post it on here, that's entirely up to them. I think Terry and June will be gone at the end of this season though after seeing out their contracts. Most in the know would look at the middle pargraph and nod - Robbo was the obvious choice but would have meant that the muppets would have to admit that they were wrong - that would/will never happen.
  21. Allison Proctor Butcher Milroy Malpas Eagle Stratford Bennett Foran Urquhart Zadi
  22. Would anyone care to put forward an argument to state that the sheer amateurism and incompetency of the muppets has not taken this club into the position that it currently finds itself in ?
  23. Come on peeple - Sutherland and Savage do not equate - it is a power struggle - Robbo shuld have been taken back at the begining of last season - his face dosent fit in with the current "regime" - so maybe they have to go ?
  24. Its muppets not puppets. Developing into a revealaing thread this - as my warning levels are on the wane I will watch instead of contributing as I have done in the past.
  25. Walk the walk - dont talk the talk - the honeymoon is over - lets get it on and see what happens in nine months time.
