The last straw - Meaning - The final additional small burden that makes the entirety of one's difficulties unbearable. The straw that broke the camel's back is the last thing you are willing to accept after which you will not put up with any more. You are at the last straw when you are just about to lose your patience. The straw that broke the camel's back is the last thing that that happened that finally made you upset.

I evidently live on a different planet from Brewster - What disgusts me is that he hasnt - and never does - admit that he got it wrong - that he was part of the problem - I get fed up with him trying to project the blame on others - that is why I call him arrogant.
-
Fer fecks sake - can someone grab Craig Brewster and stick him on a feckin stall.

What about Marius Niculae as a player manager ? Popescus as coach and Hagi as the Director of Football ? As Martin Luther King once said to me - "I have a dream

As ma good pal Rudyard Kipling once said to me - with a mouth full of cake - One day, as I sat sad and lonely and without a friend, a voice came to me saying "Cheer up, things could be worse". So I cheered up, And sure enough, Things got worse.

Methinks that there may be more to the professional relationship between Brew and Proctor than meets the eye. Brew evidently likes what he sees and has groomed the lad fer the future. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/t...ke_and_tyke.jpg

?There are none so blind as those, that will not see? The term "lost the dressing room" is used in football (soccer) to describe the situation where a manager of a club is seemingly very near to being sacked. The team will invariably be struggling on the pitch, the manager will be under a lot of pressure and the signs may be that he has lost the faith and respect of his players.

Team fer Easter Road ?
IMMORTAL HOWDEN ENDER replied to IMMORTAL HOWDEN ENDER's topic in Caley Thistle
I may have got the Winters a bit wrong - I have just received a piccy of the proposed management duo that Grasser and the Board have apparently being after fer years - apparently they are the closest thing to Brew/Malky and Robbo/Park - and there is both a striking resemblance in both looks, style and probably footballing knowledge. -
And now, the end is near; And so I face the final curtain. My friend, Ill say it clear, Ill state my case, of which Im certain. Ive lived a life thats full. Ive traveled each and every highway; And more, much more than this, I did it my way. Regrets, Ive had a few; But then again, too few to mention. I did what I had to do And saw it through without exemption. I planned each charted course; Each careful step along the byway, But more, much more than this, I did it my way. Yes, there were times, Im sure you knew When I bit off more than I could chew. But through it all, when there was doubt, I ate it up and spit it out. I faced it all and I stood tall; And did it my way.

Wow - just off the bat phone - BIG rumour. Seriously - PM me and I will tell ya the source ?
-
Now that is the problem - Orion or Savage or Grasser or Sutherland or Tullochs ?? Think about it ? And realise that there are disposable pawns - (CC) - in the TCS power struggle - but the sufferers are the players and the fans.

RIP CRAIG BREWSTER - Great player - great to watch - a joy to play with - a feckin role model - a nice person - a fitness fanatic - a fitness regime expert - a crap manager - a terrible tactician - a feckin awful man manager. Thanks fer the good times - but **** aff before ya kill us off. please.
-
For once I agree - but it is Brew or the future of this club - he has clearly lost the dressing room and the support of the fans - how much longer can the feeble management support him - despite his "hold" over some of them.
-
Well more elongated and more eloquent but nuch the same CD - Brew is the common denominator - and although I know that he is being strung along to a degree - he must go - BUT WE MUST NOT APPOINT ANOTHER YES MAN - as we have done fer too long - We need a new Director of Football - a new Cheif Executive and a new ASSERTIVE manager - if we are to survive.
-
I am getting so fed up with this forum - smell the feckin coffee - our management are numpties - our manager has no tactical nous - Marius fecked us from day one - he brought a boardroom war - our old school protected Brew - Brew protected his faves - we are being run by amateurs - Smith is practically the worst PR we have ever have. Our players - apart from a couple of experienced replacements and a bit of yoof pace can stand their own in the SPL - we are so tactically crap that it is unbelievable.
-
Really sorry - but I have now listened to that five times and, from a psychological perspective - I am DISGUSTED. His arrogance is astounding - at no time has he even considered to shoulder any of the blame for today - nor as he ever tried to shoulder any of the blame for the past mistakes. He should be accepting the blame but he is trying to project it on to th players - he has truly lost the dressing room - he has completely lost any regard that I have ever had for him. Listen to the false tone of his voice - does he take any of the blame ? - does he try to protect his players or some of them ? Listen to him - Listen to this closely a few times - from a psychological point of view - get the patronising **** OUT.
-
From a psychological perspective that sounded like a man who could smell the feckin coffee and was trying to avoid the inevitable. The man was a feckin great player, a decent coach, a feckin brilliant fitness preacher but NOT a tactician nor a people person nor a manager.
-
OH dear OH dear OH dear - When the managers loses the dressing room there is only one way that the team will go. full stop. enuff said.

?20 on that - see ya at Easter Road ?

Can see why he perservered with Fraser - but that is the last time !! Why not put Proctor in at rite back - gutless - why drop Duff who was superb at Falkirk - Munro is clearly not fit either - playing Granty and Proctor in central defence was flawed - Why play Hastings - full stop - Bet he played Cowie left and Imrie rite !!! - why play McBain other than full back !! Why play Barrowman when he has played Wood and Rooney fer the last two games ?? Why the **** take on Wood and Duff fer McBain ??!!! I now see why wee Proctor is the chosen one !! At least I can look forward to a Brewless Easter Road or our management are total weaklings. -
That has really got to be the last feckin straw. He has lost the dressing room months ago and now he has lost the feckin plot.
-
1. So tactically - another feckin farce. I can understand why he played the back five but that must surely be the game that calls fer changes. Esson showed that we have enuff goalkeeping back up; Duff and Munro could gel; but both full backs need benching. Why persevere with playin the wide men on the wrong foot when it clearly isnt working. Both Cowie and Imrie looked deflated. Play Duncan where he is at his best, play Vigurs from the start and please put Royster in at left back. But it is the forwards that really worry me - None of them are up to the SPL (yet) and I am not sure whether any of them can run the line alone. I am swaying towards Rooney at the moment - but one thing is clear - you cant play Rooney and Wood together - they are too alike and they got in each others way last nite, at times they looked like a footballing version of Siamese twins. To be honest I dreamt of Graham Bayne last nite - that may just show what I think of the other three - but if we had kept him I reckon we would be heading for a semi. 2. It is the old school; the wages and thanks fer sorting out Niculae. Have a look at the body language of the players - like Ramos at Spurs he has clearly lost the respect of the dressing room. If we can see his tactical errors, arrogance and perseverance - what do you think professional footballers think. But it shows how gutless our management are - or perhaps how clueless - perhaps they want to be in the SFL ?!! It is not rocket science to see that we are on the decline or what we should be doing to change it - the only good thing is that the longer this situation goes on - the more chance that Brew will take some of the numpties with him. 3. But - the reason is the formations, the selections and the tactics - Most contributors to this site can see what is going wrong - Brew makes the same mistakes over and over again - That is his downfall. 4. This could be very, very interesting _ Brew is really on the spot - if he sticks to his guns we may take a real feckin hammering but - if he sticks to his guns - then it may be his last stand. 5. The only way that we are going to survive at Castle Greyskull is by crowding the midfield and pressing and pressing - ya cant do that with two forwards. It is a case of damage limitation but the longer it stays 0-0 the better. My other concern is that Smith and Mccoist appear to have well sussed us. Watch fer two wide players and special attention on Tokely - Boyd on our last man as we often drop too deep - and two attacking full backs. We are in fer a long afternoon. And if Brew persists with McBain and Wood then it could be even longer. AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST. I am reliably informed that he will quit next Monday or Tuesday.
