  1. Perhaps it was becos all the loud mouthed pissheads were at the turnstiles ?
  2. I would have to add that yeterday was the first time in YEARS that I actually felt that Esson would save the penalty - where are the stattos - how many penalties did Brown and Fraser miss/save. I may be unkind but I would still go fer Rooney instead of Wood - the lad did a brave Terry Butcher yesterday and certainly put himself about - wish we get a traditional centre forward and keep the young lad in reserve. So this morning the hangover says RYAN ESSON - total respect / GARY WOOD - respect / Many thanks to the players fer looking together and playing football fer the first time in ages and to Craig Brewster fer listening to the fans and going back to the basics - when he learns right and left he may even get a feckin hug.
  3. Best away support this season ?
  4. :D :thumb04: :018: ;) :015: :D :P You've just sent me to bed laughing hysterically That wasnt sarcasm ya tatw. :021: :D :D :D :D :D Hope the restraints arent too tight. :D :D :D :D :D
  5. All I can say or slur is that it was another feckin great away day >
  6. Sorry - but Brew got lucky today - but perhaps deserved it. The team looked like they wanted to win and he renaged on his previous tactics. We went to the days of yore but the players lifted the perfomance - Brew played the system better but still made a few bollicks
  7. Before I begin - aint looked at any other threads and this is ma one and only offering. I travelled to Embra half expecting a thumping and the demise of Brewster - He aint out of the sharn yet but he regressed to his tactics of last season - and today was reminiscent of the Tannadice 1-0 "hammering" - That is the best performnace from ICT since that day or beyond. Brew reverted to the formation and tactics of the days of yore plus. He played a very tight 4-5-1 - a very compact back four evidently told to defend and not go forward - fair enuff - never seen Rosscoe so shackled !! You really had to be there to believe it - very defensive but understandable The defence held a high line and appeared to be together fer the first time this season - (RE) -we flooded the middle but played Imrie and Cowie wide (albeit on the wrong feckin side again) - we were out of shape in the middle - until we got the goal - but then we went very compact and Duncan (who was doing a Royster impersonation) went back in to the hold and we played a very tight but effective midfield with Black and Vigurs as joint playmakers ( buth with both on the wrong foot !!) WHY ?? ESSON :003: :thumb04: :018: ;) He won us the game - MOM by a feckin mile - alert, manic, always looking fer the early ball - First time I saw him at falkirk I called him Calderesque - he was excellent - he responded instantly to the fans - potentially a cult hero in the making. ROSCOE :015: :D Evidently harnessed but did the defensive job. HASTINGS :P :021: :D As per Rosscoe. MUNRO :D :D :D :D Just held his line and harnessed the rest. PROCTOR :D :D :D Still not convinced that he is a central defender but his extra pace helped. IMRIE :D :D :D **** me does he go hot and cold - great appetite fer the game, some lubbly touches - PUT HIM ON THE LEFT DUNCAN :D :D :D :D Really didnt know where he was before they scored but went back to the "hole" after - Respect as usual. BLACK :D :D :D :D :D International class apart from the temparament - the boy ruled the game. VIGURS :D :D :D Lost until Duncan went in the hole - showed his class thereafter. COWIE :D :D :D :D :D If he had been on the right flank we would have massacred them. WOODS :D :D Sorry the lad worked his socks off but was pretty ineffective. Long way to go - There is only one Ryan Esson Brew got out of jail today but I have to admit that it was the best away day in yonks.
  8. On the subject of lest we forget or do we remember I recall sitting in a pub in Dublin and Oscar Wilde turned to me and remarked ?The great events of life often leave one unmoved; they pass out of consciousness, and, when one thinks of them, become unreal. Even the scarlet flowers of passion seem to grow in the same meadow as the poppies of oblivion.? Time to reflect ?
  9. I am not sure that it would be ideal if we play Proctor at the back, deep and looking to push the rest forward - Munro may not be used to being in a comprimising position - suggest that we play them side by side. Wonder what Chris 124 thinks ?
  10. I sincerely hope - and I express this with a modicum of civility - that he/she was taking the pishh.
  11. :thumb04: Now you are beginning to appreciate sarcasm. ;) :018:
  12. What about Chorley ? At least one inhabitant at Easter Road tomorro - and four at the Jam Tarts and two at the Killie and two at the Cellic and three on to the Midden.
  13. Just to put a slightly different slant on this - but would yas agree that Mikey is similiar in weaknesses to Brown - almost in a non role model type of way - which leads to the question - how are we training our keepers ?
  14. It should embrace it all - it is about "togetherness" and "ownership" - and a bond between the club and the fans - a "family" feeling with open two way communication - I remember those days well.
  15. I take it from these remarks that you would have made no changes to the side which got thrashed last week. I've never been pro Brewster, but in your eyes (and many others to be fair) he can do no right at all. He would have been pilloried by many on here if he had not changed last week's team. So what is he to do? Shades of Catch 22! DOH - you misread me yet again - It is not about the Hun game - it is about the last 15-20 games - apart from Falkirk away I have cringed at some of the systems and tactics that he has employed - he has chopped and changed the side all season and leaves the side and the players with no continuity or confidence. I have extolled his strengths - mainly as a fantastic player - but I have always used rationales for any criticism I have made against him - and I have never been overly crude or abusive to him - I have shown him a measure of civility really. Of course changes are required - but what changes will he make - I reckon he will be swayed by public opinion cos he is drinking in the Last Chance saloon - but when you are in that predicament ya need yer drinking buddies to be really up fer ya and that is not the case. Our management cannot fail to see that but they are in the old school round of drinks and are blind feckin drunk.
  16. Civility ??!! What the **** are they teaching you in Toronto ?
  17. Has anybody else noticed how much closer the fan perspective on selection has become - and I wonder how far Brew and/or our gutless Board will conform to show this: Esson - Proctor - Duff - McBain (at full back) - Cowie on the rite - Imrie on the left - Vigurs !! Will Brew stay as he has or succumb to public vote - then he will make it an excuse cos it dont matter who ya paly or where when ya have lost the dressing room. He will be blaming US next "!!!!!!!
  18. Wow - another great thread - and I am sober !! This is just another pointing at an ICT deficiency - who is responsible for the PR an "advertising" of this club - who is responsible fer attracting the new fan and giving potential supporters a good deal or an incentive to at least have a peek - who is responsible for lookin at providing a social network to support this ? The answer is a feckin non local numpty who appears to be happier not communicating with even the local community, taking down flags, enforcing the law on local sections of the ground, becoming involved in personal altercations, stopping peeple from enjoying themselves and taking a pride in throwing homefans out on the pavement or ridiculing them.
  19. Shurely - the Savage verus Sutherland battle has been a major cause of our financial problems - let the Marius deal be known NOW - let the petty boardroom wrangle and its financial iplications be known NOW. Stop our Board hiding the facts and let the public know the truth. BRING BACK SAVAGE
  20. DOH - another example of avoiding and/or projecting the blame by Brewster and the gutless friends in charge of this club - Brewster has been makin 2-3 changes in every feckin game this season. I actually suspect that he/they will go with a team at Easter Road that is more favoured by the public influence - the only problem is that he has lost the dressing room - but by playing a more favourable team he can again project the blame and avoid the responsibility.
  21. dont know whether to ;) or :thumb04: :018: This is supposed to be an independent site and peeple should be able to vent their feelings BUT it is becoming increasingly frustrating cos most of the avid and knowledgeable followers appear to be torn between loyalty to the club and an increasing dawning that something is seriously wrong - again.
  22. For fecks sake - and to all who are e-mailing me fer further info - It is obvious that Brew was a great player - Brew was a great professional - Brew was one of the best fitness coaches around - he is not a people person - he is not a manager - and he is an incompetent tactician who is too proud or arrogant to accept the blame - our management are bunch of old school, incestuous, gutless, amateur individuals who are out of their league - if not having the life of the club at heart. Brew's appointment was a farce, Brew's prolonged lifeline is a total farce - we have a failing manager, a sub standard management, a struggling team, some players who are not up to the SPL and a diminishing, fed up support. We need an infusion of new blood all round but the moves have to start from the top - we can all see it but we just sit around and watch the demise - cos we are powerless and the failures project the blame and it is THEY that hold on to the glories of yesteryear and wallow in the survival of the SPL. The management of this club revolves around negativity - we are becoming indebted to a failing SPL standard and teams who are even less prepared and less fortunate than us - the standard of football on fare has dropped significantly and we are thankfully in the same position as 3-4 others - but we are getting closer and closer to the SFL. We have been punished by the Marius episode - but at least we have the yoof coming through - but we also have a habit of pissing off the players that we should be retaining and making a fool out of the older pros who we should be embracing. The demise of this club as been assimilating over the last two seasons - off the field issues are strangling the recruitment of new fans - send the stewards down the away end like they do at other clubs and at least gain the much needed vocal support that may encourage the fans. Get rid of the eejit Smith and put in a person with a local "heart" and a people person - put in a manager who holds respect and puts a team on the field who fights for the cause and is tactically structured and put in a senior management structure who are not driven by tradition and the old school ties.
  23. ?Most of us can read the writing on the wall; we just assume it's addressed to someone else.?
  24. OK - enuff is enuff - I will defy the victimisation threat and will join the old gits fer the Jam Tart match.
  25. If you were going to play Proctor put him in place of Tokely - Duff deserved to start - McBain could have replaced Hastings - Cowie could have been given a Bazza role - Imrie could have been tucked into midfield - Vigurs should have started - Rooney should have started. Brewster has been feckin up the line ups, the systems and the tactic since near the close of last season. Plus he has lost the dressing room with all his nonsensical tactics and constant chopping and changing.
