"The first I knew was over the weekend when Charlie told me the stress of management was becoming far worse than he had expected. He felt that, in fairness to his wife and family, he needed to step down."
"Charlie is an emotional guy and can say things in the heat of the moment. In January and then in March there were similar scenarios."
The two statements dont tally. I suspect that the words of Grasser do actually reflect guilt and remorse which is encouraging. Being a close friend and a "line manager" is a very difficult position to be in. As I said on another thread Grasser is talking the "party line" but the "bottom line" is that this should have happend at the end of last season.
I describe stress as the "pint pot of life" - CC's was brimming at the top fer months and I cant help feeling that the signing of Niculae and the circumstances may have led to CC's "pint pot" frothing up and overflowing. That would be the straightforward psychological formulation.
As with most aspects of life we will never know - but I fer one am going to confront certain individuals face to face.
This statement oozes personal emotion and professional restraint. Reading between the lines helps me put my feelings on this to bed.
Another Saturday beckons, CC is "free" and I will be there shouting on my team - and criticising if appropriate!!
