  1. I don't think Dundee have been compared to Man City or Chelsea very often What they are doing is assembling a squad of decent players, most of which, have a lot of experience of life in the first division I've also read a few people of various threads saying it'll take all these new players time to gel together but surely that'll be the case for us as well?? They are without a doubt going to be the team to beat and I think the best we can hope for is to finish above County this season.
  2. If that is the list of teams who are after him I would say we ranked fifth out of 5 in our chance of getting him!! Not seen much of him to be honest but he did start against Celtic/Rangers in a televised game at the end of the season. He kept giving the ball away, more than even Bamba!!
  3. John Rankin Don Cowie Barry Robson
  4. I see Dundee have made another signing and this one could potentially be the one that wins them the league. Assuming Leigh Griffiths continues where he left off last season they have secured a 20+ goal a season striker. We'd better hope some of these trialists are s**t hot otherwise it'll be mid-table mediocrity for us and all those 'looking forward' to life in the first division will get a few more years to 'enjoy' it!!
  5. P&J saying that 2 Dutch players are coming on trial as well
  6. LINK TO IC STORY Quick Summary = Odhiambo signed 1 year deal Proctor likely to sign and Djebi-Zadi talks ongoing 2 keepers on trial - 1 Polish/other English + French centre half Still no midfield!!
  7. Just been on the news that Setanta have gone into administration. Anyone who still subscribes will be glad to know that no further payments will be taken
  8. A County supporting mate has been winding me up that the French centre half is actually Djebi-Zadi's little brother!
  9. Totally agree. Dundee have a strong squad already and if they do add Kerr, Griffiths and Harkins it's odds on that they will win the league.
  10. Was it not 400,000 Euros we got rather than ?'s?

Don't count on it. They screened very bizarre SFL fixtures last season. Not even sure County featured in any of them??
  12. According to the P&J we are getting a French centre back and a Polish goalkepper on trial during pre-season training. Any thoughts/guesses who they might be?
  13. It says in the Inverness Courier that TB is in Sweden doing his feckin UEFA coaching badges!! You'd have thought he would already have these or at least have done them when he was out of work or in between international fixtures :)
  14. Under-19 coach Alec Cleland and his assistant Scott Kellacher have left the club as part of the financial cuts being imposed as a consequence of the club dropping out of the SPL.
  15. I would assume he is a 'versatile' player. I did find a little snippet about his time at Yeovil on loan where he was described as a midfielder although he never played for them
  16. Bit early to be saying Cox is a talented player isn't it? As far as I can see on my brief search of the interweb he has yet to play a first team game!
  17. It would seem the ICT info is pretty much cut & pasted from the Leicester website although they say he is a right sided defender not a midfielder!!
  18. Was Renegade called Tin Can Fan in a previous life?
  19. I thought we were hoping to have signed those 2 'mystery' midfielders today??
  20. They have certainly improved under Capello but ICT could beat Andorra
  21. Looks like we have our annual contract confusion/saga storyline beginning. Just read the P&J online about Proctor's contract offer and if it is accurate it seems to contradict the info what we thought we knew. LINK A quick summary is that Proctor says he was only offered a new contract yesterday (June 10th). He is now going on holiday but has received 2 other offers one from an SPL club & another from a rival team in the 1st division Confused?? You will be
  22. No real surprise if he jumps ship and no real loss
  23. I heard it was to be a 'dream' team of Pressley, McNamara & McCann
  24. It'll be interesting to see how he gets on there

Ian Vigurs was our most promising youngster and one of a select group of ICT players that can pass the ball. He arrived at Elgin at 15 y/o played about 20 odd games then signed for ICT and in the 4 years since then has played 20 odd games, which part of promising were you thinking of, 6 years and an everage of 8 starts a season? Everyone has jumped on the band wagon of Vigurs but no one seems to have given a second thought to Zander, same age only been on the pro books 3 years played twice as many times for Elgin and over twice as many for ICT has also chipped in with more goals, and while at Elgin got nominated for 3rd Div Player of Year. He didn't get a chance with Butcher due to injury (think he had an Op) and also released, I think this is who we should be moaning about losing rather than Vigurs or Wood but of course Zander doesn't have his mate on here to push through his personal agenda(CaleyP)!! Ian Black only started 7 first team games for us in his first season at a similar age as Vigurs and he ended up doing rather well. It's also worth mentioning that for a while Iain was vying for place in midfield against quite a few decent and/or more established players eg John Rankin, Don Cowie, Ian Black, Barry Wilson, Russell Duncan & even Ritchie Hart. I don't think anyone is arguing that he was the finished article but most of us could see he had the potential to become a really good player with experience. Sadly that experience is going to come at our local rivals. Black seems to be about the only young player (that I can recall) that has become established in the side during the last 5 or 6 seasons. Of course the argument could be that the others weren't good enough but in my opinion ICT have been very reluctant to blood youngsters of late due to the fact we were always chasing ???'s (in terms of SPL places and the finances associated) Rather than give the likes of Vigurs, Sutherland, etc a run out in the 'meaningless' post-split fixtures we'd always field experienced players like McBain to churn out safe, average performances rather than find out more about the younger players. Of course this policy is going to come back to haunt us as we now only have an experienced core of aging players and untried Under 19's.
