    Deadline Day

I heard tonight we are signing a big striker this week. No idea who though!

  3. I'm surprised a few folk have said Bulvitis played well as the whole back 4 were rotten but Lionel was the 'pick' of the bunch
  4. Think hislopoffside has pretty much nailed the nailed player displays although he perhaps hasn't conveyed how pish Bulvitis, Stratford, Sanchez & Dejbi-Zadi were. Saying that Proctor, Munro & Eagles weren't much use either. It was probably collectively the must incompetent back 4 we have fielded in ages We were lucky to get away with 3-1 and I doubt County will have an easier game all season. They were fitter, faster ,stronger, better organised and wanted it much more than our shower of strangers. I doubt Brewster could have organised a much bigger shambles than that and he looked like he was having a great afternoon pi**ing himself every time Lionel got on the ball. I think Butcher deserves a fair bit of criticism as well for his questionable tactics today. We somehow managed to get ourselves back into the game with a goal out of the blue started playing with a bit of confidence and then he switched to a back 3!! Which left us totally exposed on the left. Then after conceding the 3rd we had another tactical masterstroke leading to Duncan playing at centre half! Feckin crazy. Nice goal by Vigurs to rub salt in the wounds. Why Butcher let him go to sign some of the muppets he has beggars belief. My worries about nice guy Tel's managerial abilities are increasing match by match Did I mention Bulvitis, Stratford, Sanchez & Dejbi-Zadi were pish??

  8. Well if this is the case play him tonight hopefully he has a good perferomance and a club will come in for him, The thing i dont understand about this, is that the monday after our relegation when we released player why didnt we release him then, surely has hasnt became a poor player over 3 months. He still had a year of his contract to run. We only released players who were out of contract so we wouldn't have to fork out any cash.

  11. Butcher had all his new signings playing today and Cox is the only one who looks like a football player. I know it's early days and all but having seen the new guys a few times now they range from mediocre to down right poor. Scoring goals is going to be a real problem for us this season
  12. HT:1-0 FT:2-1 1st Scorer ICT:Foran 1st Scorer Opp:Stevenson Crowd: 2422
  13. Doesn't do much for Butchers stock. Either he's just a 'yes' man to Mr Incompetent or he is contributing directly to that shambles :021:
  14. Another morale sapping decision
  15. They beat County last week 1-0 :(
  16. Hamilton's interest in Imrie is in the P&J today as well. I'm sure I read they had signed 3 new players but I can only see Wesolowski being mentioned online. Not bothered if Imrie goes to be honest, if we get a decent offer for him of course.
  17. Good draw in terms of potential progression. Poor in terms of the coffers. I wonder what the break even point is for us? We may have lost money staging the previous 2 cup games!
  18. It was Stratford who got booked and it was incredibly harsh. A much improved performance from last week but I would say it was a competent display rather than awe inspiring. There wasn't much between the teams in the first half but we stepped up a gear in the second 45 and never looked back. Our back 4 looked much more settled with Tokely at right back so hopefully Mr Butcher will realise that wee experiment didn't work. Will need to see more of Bulvitis before making my mind up about him. He seemed to start off brightly enough but seemed to get progressively worse as the game went on. Munro had a steady game but his distribution still let's him down and Lionel looked pretty good today - he'd probably be in the running for player of the year if he played in the 3rd division B) Cox was the pick of the bunch in midfield. I love the way he really gets stuck into tackles. He came onto a game in the second half and looked the part. Stratford was pretty anonymous and Eagles flitted in and out of the game whipping in the occasional good cross and of course scoring on his debut. I will be interested to hear other folks opinions on Imrie's display. I was surprised that he got the MoTM award! I suppose just looking at the match stats his 2 assists and 1 goal sound impressive but the rest of his display, especially in the first half was pretty low quality. Still he did miss pre-season so perhaps I am being overly harsh. Rooney was workmanlike up front and took his header well but other than that it was just huff and puff. Sanchez much like Eagles disappeared for long periods but he seems quite nippy and looks to have good technique. All in all a good day out. It was a lovely day when the sun stayed out and it's always nice to win. The real football starts next week and we are going to have to raise our game considerably if we are to be challenging at the end of the season

  20. Seriously why do you bother?
  21. It would seem Barrowman and Foran will be struggling to be fit for this game. I'm guessing it will have to be Rooney & Sutherland up front unless Sanchez is signed and/or Imrie is risked
  22. It seems we are offering deals to Bulvitis & Sanchez according to the P&J
  23. Hellish trip for Stranraer at the best of times but for a midweek game you have to feel for them
  24. To quote that well used phrase "WHAT A LOAD OF RUBBISH!" There is not a hope in hell we will win the league with performances like that. It really was dire stuff . Not sure if it was complacency, ring rustiness, the hot weather or just lack of basic footballing skills but we weren't at the races at all. Things weren't helped by Butchers odd substitutions! We ended up with McBain up front for extra time when Foran was taken off for Hastings!! We could have no complaints if Montrose had gone through, in fact, they probably deserved it more than we did. Can't say I'm too impressed with the new faces. Cox was probably the pick of the bunch and he is rock solid in the tackle but faded as the match went on. Stratford was very average and his set pieces and crossing left a lot to be desired. Ross looked quite lively in the first half but he's too small to cope with any physical contact and his crossing is just feeble. Hayes was rubbish. Simple as that. He didn't seem very quick and pretty much everything he tried resulted in him losing possession. I was glad when he got subbed before half time. There must be more to come from him otherwise how the hell did he get a contract. Note to Butcher Tokely is no center back, get him back to rightful place at right back. Also tell Munro to get his finger out. He seems to be going backwards as a player and looks a shadow of the man he was besides Dodds. Hopefully this Bulvitis is good cos a Munro & Tokely partnership will get torn apart week in week out. Still we scraped through which is something. Think I'll keep my ,money in my pocket and give the United friendly a miss. That game dulled my enthusiasm for the new season drastically
