  1. Hastings was rubbish on Wednesday but not today. I think some people still haven't gotten over him signing for County 7 years ago!
  2. I'm afraid Barry looked well passed he sell by date today I'm sure he's worth keeping on until the end of the season for his experience and to be used as a super sub but I think his days of starting for us are over
  3. Another home defeat!!! ARGGGHHHH!! Of course it's disappointing but frustratingly we weren't all that bad and Hearts certainly didn't outclass us. We probably merited a draw but ultimately this goes down as yet another loss. I think once Black went off and McBain came on we lost the midfield and Aguiar ran the show for them in the first 45. We had a great chance to equalise in the first half but it looked like Barrowman and then Rooney miss-hit there shots, the latter only being a foot or so from the goal!! Will need to see the penalty incident again. Hard one to call but as has been mentioned the ref was pretty hopeless!! I wonder if we kept the receipt for Barrowman as he just doesn't seem to be working properly? It's hard to explain but he seems to possess Roy's invisibility powers and flits in and out of the game. Of course it can't be easy being an ICT striker because they are fed on scraps. With the exception of Imrie there was little in the way of creativity coming from the middle of the park until Vigurs came on and he at least tried to spray the passes about. On a sad note I'm afraid Barry is past it for starting games. He is destined to be used as a super sub for the remainder of his career with us. He started off quite promisingly and then faded badly losing possession easily and passing to the opposition Maurice Malpas got sacked with an indentical league record to the one Brewster has this season. Make of that what you will. Things need to improve quickly because just now we are relying on St Mirren & Hamilton being slighty worse than ourselves. If they manage to beat us in our head-to-heads we are screwed.
  4. I know it's a bit off topic but I saw Brewster and the rest of the backroom staff down at Tesco tonight doing there bit for Children in Need so for that
  5. Totally agree. I think Barrowman in particular is the type of player who needs to get a run of games under his belt to get the best out of him. I know it's not actually the case but it almost seems that we start with a different forward(s) each week!! There seems to be too much tinkering going on with different tactics, formations and personnel being used. I know you have to approach each game differently but we seem to be going OTT.
  6. I'm going to say nothing about our chances against Hearts. The last time I confidently predicted a home win against them they humped us 3-0 with Elliot scoring his first goals in 2 years and Nade running rings around our defence - Let's just hope the big man has been at the biscuit tin all week

No he had a good season with Elgin & was one of the choices for the 3rd division player of the year! I think we'll hold onto the fringe players in January as we have such a small squad but I suspect Zander along with a couple of others will be released come the summer. Not really seen enough of him in SPL action to comment on his ability though. The few times I have seen him he's looked quite good but of course he isn't 6 feet tall
  8. He went purple at one point!! I thought he was going to explode!! My favourites tonight were " F*****g showboating!! He's too ugly to be showboating!' and the winner 'Was that Higgy? Was that Higgy? That f*****g c**t' Bit of a potty mouth
  9. No matter how bad Hastings was tonight Mcbain is not the answer!
  10. Thank you very much flappy the Falkirk goalie your ineptitude got us a point I think it's fair to say we were lucky tonight but I'll try and be positive and look at it as a point gained. For the first 30 minutes the players didn't have a clue what they were meant to be doing! The 4-5-1 formation didn't work. Wood was left high and dry with no support. We had the usual nonsense of Cowie on the left & Imrie on the right. Vigurs was the holding midfielder (!!) with Duncan & Black either side. Every time Black pushed forward Brewster was shouting at him to drop back. Complete shambles. We did switch to 4-4-2 for the last 15 minutes with Imrie moving up front. The double switch at half-time did have an impact but considering we were so rubbish in the first half it would be hard not to improve. & Wilson looked lively when he came on but we only knicked the point thanks to another dodgy Falkirk keeper. Not many get pass marks tonight. Tokely was probably our most creative player!! Black came onto a bit of a game in the second half. Rooney hustled, bustled & scrapped and Wilson whipped in a few decent balls. The rest ranged from average to woeful. Hastings & Proctor were especially dodgy tonight. All in all much a great relief not to lose but that was more down to luck than anything I'm afraid. Must do better on Saturday
  11. I thought this was a joke at first but then I read on!!! Why are we even contemplating trying to sign Byrne? :thumb04: Even if he did join he'd be unlikely to ever play. The minute he put pen to paper on a contract his hamstring would go again
  12. You might argue he is slightly biased being an ex-ITC manager & Hearts legend Fantastic result today and 3 much needed points. :thumb04:
  13. The latest P&J online article Fraser and Proctor search for redemption at Easter Road It starts off saying that Fraser & Proctor will keep there places for Saturday's game before then going on to quote Brewster saying he hasn't decided whether he is going to rest Fraser yet ot not!! Very odd.
  14. Esson Tokely Duff Munro Hastings Cowie Black Duncan Vigurs Imrie Rooney

I assume the above are SPL fixtures only as we've played 33 games in 2008? The cup games don't really change the stats much anyway 2 wins & 2 defeats
  16. I'm surprised he hasn't been subbed yet - I mean surely he'll give vigurs 3 mins at the end to try and change the game
  17. Probably as Rangers have taken there foot off the gas and will be treating the second half as a practice match
  18. So far so good - no more goals conceded! Maybe Rangers are tired after celebrating the previous 5??
  19. Will someone make those bigger boys stop scoring goals I wonder if anyone predicted this scoreline at half-time? :thumb04: I seem to have gone past anger and reached a zen-like state of D'oh
  20. AWESOME display so far Most people would have expected a defeat but this is turning into a massacre!! Our goal difrerence is going to take a real pummeling as well
  21. I think the most annoying/frustrating thing about today was that on the whole we were the better team. 4-4-2 suits us at home and everyone started in there preferred position for once. It's not as if anyone played particularly badly either and yet we come away with nothing - again!! Unfortunately for us the Motherwells managers substitutions were just better than ours although like I said earlier he can be forgiven for the Black - McBain swop as Ian was injured
  22. Well done to all who attended on such a horrible day but Oh dear!! I think it's safe to say that the double substitution McGhee made changed the whole game so I hope Brewster was taking notes!! We were 1-0 up and the only side in it and he obviously needed to do something as that was the worst Motherwell performance I'd seen up here for a long, long time! Will need to see the hi-lights of how they got the equaliser as Porter seemed to have oceans of space and buried the ball clinically. The free kick from Malcolm was a superb one although it should have never been given in the first place. For those querying the substitution of Black it looks like he hurt his shoulder again so the swop for McBain can be explained. However, I have no idea why we took Rooney off when Wood was the obvious candidate to get hooked and putting Barrowman on with 2 minutes to go was pointless. That's 5 defeats in the last 6 games now. Even the most super-optimistic of our fans must realise we are in a relegation dog fight already! Saying that I think we are better than Hamilton & St Mirren

The wind is going to ruin the game today. Trying to keep the ball on the deck will be essential
  24. "Inverness always do well at home" Therefore it'll be 1-1
  25. We apparently had him watched playing in friendly for Morton against Rangers this week!!
