You wouldn't take Craig Bryson? He pretty much destroyed us on his own last March!! He is potentially a quality young player
  2. My old man was speaking to his Dad at the match and he says Evans really likes it up here. It looked to me like he was trying too hard (if that makes any sense) and the 'nerves' were more the fact he was very concious of the fact he was playing for a contract Nice to see Liam Keogh in the crowd tonight and I'm sure Steven Watt was there as well
  3. Dear Oh Dear!! What a shambles :029: I think it's fair to say County deserved there win. They certainly looked a fitter, sharper, stronger more cohesive unit than us. Plus of course that's the biggest game of the season for them :tic01: I am trying to remain calm by uttering the mantra 'its only a meaningless pre-season friendly' over and over again :015: The first half we were subjected to the most long ball pish we have ever played. I think Wood went up for about 20 balls and didn't win a single one. What happened to him? He looked so promising last season and tonight he made Rory look dynamic. County took a well deserved lead when Hart scored a cracking goal from outside the box and they were reaping the benefits of keeping the ball on the deck in very windy conditions. We got a soft penalty, although by the letter of the law it was merited when one of the County centre halves moved his arm to stop a cross coming over. Unfortunately Wilson made a balls up from the spot and we went in 1-0 at half time. Numerous changes at half time didn't really improve our fortunes until a **** up at the back allowed Barrowman in to coolly round the keeper and slot it home. Vigurs then rocketed in a screamer from the edge of the box and the home fans let out a huge sigh of relief as we looked like edging an undeserved win. I'm not sure about the County equaliser it did look offside and the officials were pretty hopeless all night but I guess if we got the penalty they probably deserved it. There winner came in injury time when a free kick was whipped into the back post and didn't look too dangerous as big Rory had it covered. He proceeded to leap approximately 1 inch into the air, the ball sailed over his head and the County player darted into to score the easiest tap in of his life. D'oh!! Defensively we were a mess. If the opposition have a big striker we just can't cope. We need a centre back who can win balls in the air. We are going to hemorrhage goals this season mark my words. Not many players would get pass marks tonight - maybe Black for getting stuck in, Vigurs for his goal but that's about it I'm sure Djebi-Zadi will become a fans favourite but he's an accident waiting to happen I'm afraid :007: I left the game feeling disappointed and more than a little worried. Not sure I can be arsed going on Saturday. They obviously need that trip to Denmark - BADLY! Still it's only a meaningless friendly!! :023:

7 appearances in last 2 years! I doubt Fraser will be losing much sleep. Why haven't they taken him on trial? No one will have seen him play for years!

He failed to get a deal at Queen of the South!!

Some comments in the P & J article today made me raise an eyebrow..... It would seem ?500,000 is now the magic figure Brewster mentions some of the money would go to 'pay off certain things' - any ideas? He hopes he would get some of the money if he needed it!! I think a lot of people have assumed that any money we got from selling Niculae would go straight into the transfer budget - looks like they need to think again.

Been asked to stay on for a few more days & will feature against County
  8. Daily Mail reported clubs from Turkey & Greece were the bidders but then they went onto say Niculae earns ?5k a week!!
  9. I think it would be great if County made it into the SPL with us - think how annoyed all the other clubs would be having to make the journey up here twice as many times!! :015: I don't think they will get promoted this year though, if I was a gambling man my money would be on St Johnstone. I'm more worried about us surviving this year :009:
  10. I don't think anyone could argue against that! My only concern is that even with all that money we'd still struggle to attract players who will improve the first team, plus of course, the fact we have some cash automatically bumps up the price of any player we are trying to buy
  11. As soon as a club comes in with an offer that meets ICT valuation he'll be allowed to talk to them. The Express says we are holding out for ?1 million.
  12. Brewster said last week there will be no further defence signings I'm afraid
  13. More worrying is the quote that he is not looking at any more defenders! Our defending was the weakest link last season and unless McGuire's injury really affected his performances drastically he didn't look like the answer

The few occasions I saw him it was definitely going forward that he caught the eye. I'd be surprised if he was played at centre half and I suspect he won't feature much barring injuries & suspensions
  15. Barnes is 6ft 3in and ginger and Zabi is a big black man if that helps?
  16. GREAT NEWS :021: Does anyone actually rate him as a commentator? I was so pleased when they introduced the option of listening to the 5 Live commentary via the red button - saved my muting Motson All the best John - you won't be missed
  17. Move to Dunfermline looking very likely
  18. Well that dragged on a bit but Brew got his man! He could actually turn out to be a good signing - the 3 or 4 times I saw him last season he looked half decent - he's a sort of less physical, goal scoring version of Graham Bayne. I'm just hopinh he's a partner for Niculae rather than a replacement
  19. From the weekend ... "Of course if England had qualified the Russians wouldn't even be here!"
  20. Well the 'talks to continue' was reported on North Tonight yesterday but I'm not sure about the 'told us where to go' came from - probably a Ross County or St Mirren fan on P&B!! :015:
  21. Talks to continue today apparently
  22. Good news everyone - fresh talks planned for next week! One wonders what there is left to talk about? :024:
  23. I just hope we are looking at signing a pacy striker as well otherwise we are heading (no pun intended) towards a strikeforce of very similar type players to lump the ball up too

Don't like it but I felt the same about the last strip and I gradually grew to accept that. I won't be buying it though
  25. Graeme Bennett says Dean Macdonald has left in today's P&J
