I've found Teletext (ICT page is 535 for those who don't know) to be pretty good actually. They usually have some new information on what's going on every day - of course it's not always right

Now I'm confused. Teletext has Black saying no one has offered him a new contract!

According to the P&J article today he hasn't signed for us but we are 'hopeful' he might be onboard by Saturday. Also mentions we have cooled our interest in Elliot

It'll be Cowie's agent who is playing hardball and quite rightly trying to get the best deal for his client. I'm sure I read up until recently that Cowie didn't even have an agent and only employed one because he disliked doing the negotiating himself

Several players have been given 3 year deals over the last few years - Golly, Rankin, Hastings, Duncan as well as Barrowman, even Dean Macdonald was given a 2 year deal with an option on a 3rd year! Not sure how and why though

It wouldn't be a 'proper' transfer window if there wasn't a long, drawn out, transfer saga involving ICT :015: Let's be honest no one knows what's going on here with different versions of the same story appearing in the press. The sooner it gets sorted out the better

Looks set to join Falkirk. Potentially another good signing for them. I'm thinking they are looking good for Top 6 this season :rolleyes02:

Interesting to read in the P&J that Nicuale got a % of the transfer fee but we still made a profit on him The article also mentioned the board hasn't decided if Brewster gets any of the money from the transfer to spend :029:

Isn't it fantastically positive that so may people are counting on our SPL survival based a 20 year old with 24 first team starts to his name who hasn't even signed a contract joining us as a first team player!!

Just a pure guestimate but I reckon Brewster might get ?75k to spend from the sale of Niculae

Interesting take on the story Slip1970 and one I'm not sure I can agree with especially as the club probably sent someone round to pack up his house & bags the moment last season ended :023: I'm sorry to see the player go and it makes me even more apprehensive for the forthcoming season than I already was. Let's hope Brewster can sign a couple of decent players of a somewhat higher pedigree than Crawford & Elliot! The one good thing to come out of it will (hopefully) be the end of one of our regular contributors incessant & tedious postings on Niculae :tic01:

It's lot easier to play against folk your own age than it'll be for him to play in the rough & tumble of the SPL We'd better hope Rooney is excellent and actually wants to join us

Personally I agree that we need a commanding centre back but unfortunately it has been made very clear that we are not going to make any more defensive signings this season

Has anyone actually seen Rooney play either in the flesh or on TV? I read a few comments on other threads saying he'd be an excellent signing but I'm not sure what people are basing this on - to be honest I'd never even heard of the guy. Bit worried to read his wikipedia entry and to discover he's only 10 inches tall!! :015:

Well for what its worth I totally disagree with RossP - I had Hastings as MoTM. In the first half he bombed forward much more than the man in front of him and his cross set up the first goal. Or defence lapses came from the middle with McGuire responsible for both goals.

It must be hard for players to come up here on trial and despite being technically better they get turned down for people who are part of the furniture

Elliot is as popular with Hearts fans as Rory M is with ours. The words shouldn't touch with a barge pole spring to mind. As a possible replacement for Bayne, well, maybe he (might) cut the mustard but if Niculae goes we are feckin struggling :008:
