  1. Maybe he's hoping for a return to Pittodrie in light of recent developments. Hope Brew has a Plan B :024:
  2. Hearts? Really? WOW!!! A purely financial based decision then!! Still I guess he must be at an age where this will be his last big contract I wonder who's next on the list to take the penalty's for the Dons? hopefully he isn't as good from the spot :023:
  3. Ouch!! That's gotta hurt the Dons :004: Let's hope we have more success in keeping our out of contract players
  4. The following is quoted directly from today's Daily Express..... "St. Mirren slapped in an improved bid for Inverness midfielder John Rankin over the weekend. The buddies had a ?40,000 bid turned down last week & have since upped their offer and included add-ons to try and clinch the move. St Mirren are aware Rankin wants to leave the Highlands and hoping this latest bid will be enough to convince Craig Brewster to cash in on his unsettled star. The former Manchester united trainee has told Brewster he wants to leave because he sold his house when he was frozen out of the team and his girlfriend is pregnant and wants to return to the central belt. Rankin, who cost Inverness ?65,000 from Highland rivals Ross County, has forced his way back into the team in recent months and Brewster now wants him to stay, but will sell if Saints meet their valuation of the player."
  5. I read it was Liverpool not Man Utd who are keen & that's why he rejected Spurs :024:
  6. Certainly the pick of the bunch at County just now. Maybe worth keeping an eye on
  7. Are County due a slice of any potential fee I wonder? I would assume they would have added a sell-on clause?
  8. That was my understanding of the situation as well. ICT are paying Niculae the same amount we offered to pay Dargo per week which is being matched by Orion
  9. I must have missed these 5 minutes. Yantorno was rubbish. I thought him and Skelton were easily there best players. I was even pondering Yantorno as a possible replacement for Rankin :024: I thought Wyness had a nightmare today and he's normally a very good player for us. He brushed aside time and time again, didn't look interested and rarely broke out of a trot. I couldn't believe it when Niculae was taken off instead of him It must have been you that voted for Mcbain as MoTM on the POY vote then. He was only on the park 15 mins :015:
  10. Would talks with Swansea not be about Watt? Swansea paid ?200,000 for Duffy in July and I would imagine they would expect a large % of that for him making him well out of our price range!
  11. Isn't the reason Rankin wants to leave not the fact Brewster told him he was surplus to requirements a few months ago? He was encouraging him to go on loan as he didn't think he would get a game with us. Now Brewster seems to have had a change of heart after actually see Rankin play in the side which may unfortunately be too late as the player has decided to seek pastures new and find a manager who has faith in him. Think Brew has shot himself in the foot :029: Here's hoping he stays anyway. We shouldn't be selling our best players if we don't have too
  12. If this is true the gers should take the money and run!! LINK
  13. I went through to the County Vs Peterhead game today and I think it's fair to say Rory did nothing to suggest he is an SPL striker & an Under 21 international. Lots of huffing and puffing with no end product. He seemed to spend most of his time sitting on the pitch after getting eased off the ball. Of course this was his 1st game with his new team mates so perhaps it's a bit harsh to judge him on 1 run out. It was funny to hear the County fans moaning and grumbling at missed chances when they were already 5-1 up
  14. Just heard Brewster on the radio saying it was a terrific performance and we were superb! Seems to be in contrast to the comments made by the folk who were at the game :024:
  15. In paper today that a ?40K bid from St Mirren is imminent and the player now wants to leave :029: It would seem Brewster got this one very wrong :rolleyes02:
  16. I thought it was Munro but there you go, apologies to Grant. One day I will see an ICT keeper save a penalty :015:
  17. Another good result and we played some lovely attacking football when we kept it on the deck. I was a bit surprised to see Bayne starting up front with Niculae dropping a bit deeper but it worked out very well. McBain wasn't missed at all in fact I think we looked a much better team without him on the pitch Some good saves from both keepers kept the scoreline down but we were well worth the win. Niculae & Black were the real standouts for us I felt. Not quite sure why Fraser was the sponsors MOTM though :024: How many penalties have we and in particular Grant Munro conceded this season? I think that was the only downside of today though. a job well done :003: Finally we've beaten Killie at home here's hoping that elusive win against Aberdeen is the next hoodoo to be broken :021:
  18. I see County have sold another youth player to Liverpool for over ?100,000. Like it or not there youth system seems to be light years ahead of ours :rolleyes02:
  19. It may turn out to be a Chinese whisper but has anyone else heard of our interest in a central defender from Chester recommend by Malky? They do have a couple of defenders 'listed' but no one I've heard of even the guy who used to play for Kilmarnock
  20. They do struggle against players good in the air though, JVH, Nish, Berra today, etc
  21. It was Munro who gave away the penalty not McGuire - I think. Setanta's camera from the moon isn't the best :029:
  22. 5 GREAT results although we got a bit lucky in 1 if not 2 of those. Prior to that we were easily beaten in 3 games. I do think some people are getting a bit carried away here though. I wasn't for Brewster returning but I will be absolutely feckin delighted if I am wrong. All that matters is the team. To use an old football cliche let's just take it 1 game at a time. Away to a very in form Falkirk will be a difficult game. Here's hoping Santa has more in his sack for ICT :003:
  23. WOO HOO!!! :021:
  24. It'll be interesting to see what happens with the latest spin of the SPL manager merry-go-round!!
