  1. I was hoping Nish was 1 of the players who was out - he always seems to score against us :029:
  2. BBC is also now saying all ties are on Oct 31st 7.45pm
  3. I think the goals we conceded were - for goal 1) bad luck for goal 2) tremendous kick 1) Stupid free kick conceded and then Milne given a free run on goal 2) Woeful attempts to clear the ball by the defence and then a very well taken strike No harm done as the team responded well and quickly regained the advantage

    Don Cowie

I can't believe it's the same player I saw turning out for County last season. I saw him play 4 or 5 times and he was average at best. He really must have been going through the motions for them till he got his 'big' move although I believe he was carrying an injury for quite as while as well Contender for player of the year already :022:
  5. A very good team performance today :021: The goals we conceded were due to sloppy defending but in the end that didn't matter I don't think anyone had a bad game but there were some immense individual displays with Cowie & Duncan the pick of the bunch :clapping03: Killie are struggling so there couldn't be a better time to be playing them Here's hoping for 4 in a row :003:
  6. Says on the BBC website now it's on the Tuesday.... Ties at Pittodrie, Tannadice and Fir Park to be played on 30 October. Celtic v Hearts on 31 October
  7. I think both sides made 6 changes from their previous starting line up's. I'm not sure if we should get too carried away with the result. I would expect there would have been more of a contest if that was a league game
  8. It must have just been where I was sitting then. The noise from the Gretna fans was rather distracting :tic01:
  9. It looked like a home fan was ejected/arrested tonight as well from the North stand. I'm sure someone 'closer to the action' will elaborate
  10. Well tonight was a game of 3 thirds!! Good stuff from us for the first and last 30 minutes but the middle part was rather poor. We could have and probably should have been 2 or 3 up in the first 20 minutes with Brew missing a couple of decent chances. Not quite sure what happened after that but we started losing the midfield battle towards the end of the half and we were struggling for the first part of the second half as well. No real stand out performances for us tonight. Duncan & Caff probably were the pick of the bunch for me. Cowie started in the middle and wasn't nearly as effective as on Saturday. Brewster shouldn't have come back out for the second half he seemed to hurt his shoulder and was pretty much a passenger from then on in. Morgan I felt was very poor and the keeper had a few fumbles despite having a relatively quiet night. Nice to see Deano get a wee run out there were a couple of flashes of skill but there's no way of telling when he gets so little time. Nice cameo from Rankin for the final 10 minutes as well, he set up Denzil with a lovely ball which was headed wide. Good result. Gretna were poor - not sure how many first team regulars they had playing though? They brought maybe 50 away fans as well :023:
  11. Should Brewster rotate the squad and leave a few out with an eye on Saturdays game against Falkirk? Does the fact we are playing Gretna make it a more important game to win because of the psychological edge it might give us? Obviously I hope we win both games but personally I feel 3 points on Saturday are more important Opinions?
  12. Not sure they have anyone good enough left at the moment :023:
  13. One of the reasons why, while I've been very impressed with Cowie, I don't think he is meant to be played wide right. Good point RiG. Cowie like Rankin preferred position is central midfield but as seems to happen a lot at ICT he is being played out of position. Luckily (for us) he had the whole of last season to get used to playing wide right as bizarrely thats where Leitch played him for County :024:
  14. It went fine - can't even see the scar :004: Yeah Marius was Ok. Some nice flicks and lay offs. He did a fair bit of chasing back as well including playing at right back at one point. His running style is very odd maybe that's what gives the impression he isn't trying. He's no sprinter that's for sure. Still probably needs another half dozen games before he's firing on all cylinders
  15. Never believe the radio commentators :rolleyes02: Marius played well today and put in a fair shift of work including playing at right back at one point chasing back 40 yards with the Hearts winger The whole team worked hard especially in the second half
  16. WOO HOO!!! :021: Just back from the game with a huge grin on my face. I thoroughly enjoyed waving good bye to the Hearts fans as they streamed away when our second went in Great second half performance from the team and some great individual displays. Cowie especially deserves a special mention he seemed to be everywhere and looks ultra fit. I feared the worst at half time I must admit but whatever was said in the changing rooms certainly did the trick. I didn't think it was going to be our day as we seemed to pass up chance after chance but fair play we stuck in and I really do think we merited the 3 points today Shame Gretna had to go and win though Well done ICT onwards and upwards :clapping03:
  17. Just an opinion and I should have probably said he isn't a first team contender at this moment in time
  18. Hastings may get a good bit longer to recover than he had hoped for with McBain doing so well at Left Back. Of the rest I think the only one we could do with having available right now is Hart. Having him available to replace Wilson for the last 20-30 mins of any watch would be a huge boost. Mcbain is no defender for the simple reason he can't tackle. Hastings is a no brainer for left back. Hart isn't even considered a first team contender anymore when fit so how will he be missed?
  19. I wonder if the away support will come in the same car :023:
  20. Shame we couldn't have played Hearts a few weeks ago when they were playing poorly :029: Here's hoping we give them a hard time next weekend and get our first points of the season :021:
  21. Football is all about opinions and we've just been humped 5-0. I'm not bitter I predicted we'd lose 4-0. I don't like it especially as we more than matched Celtic last year but we are really struggling just now. Lining up 4-4-2 against them was tactically naive. We aren't playing well and better teams than us try and shut up shop at Celtic Park. Maybe playing a different system might have made some difference - we'll never know :rolleyes02:
  22. Fair play to IHE for trying to blame the 5-0 defeat purely on our Romainian stiker -we all know his predictable ditribe by now and to say it's getting tiresome is an understatemnet. Its an 11 man game and we simply aren't good enough. Perhaps lining up 4-4-2 against the defending champions wasn't the greatest tactical plan in the world (then again is our manager much of a thinker?) but we stuck to it and got humped!! We always play 4-4-2 come rain, come shine, no matter what!1! Surely we should have some tactical nouse by now??? Other teams come to Celtic park to frustrate. We come to throw ourselves on the sword thats fecking naive :018:
  23. 5-0!! 20 minutes to go!! :023:
  24. We are trying to avoid relegation aren't we? :029: On his day a great keeper - just a shame that day is rarely a Saturday. Didn't Chick Young say of him he couldn't stop a beach ball going down a rabbit hole! :023: Very odd choice indeed We still need a centre back - the mind boggles who might appear :sillywave:
  25. From P&J Website..... Defence is the Caley Jags main area for concern as Grant Munro (back) and Richard Hastings (muscle strain) are both doubts for the trip to Edinburgh. On-loan Swansea defender Steven Watt made his first appearance for the Highlanders against the Red Lichties and Brewster may opt to give him his league debut in the capital. Markus Paatelainen will not be included in the Caley Thistle squad due to a troublesome Achilles injury.
