  1. An interesting idea, Dundee have the meanest defence even though they are 9th. Kyle Benedictus won young player of the month award for November, only played 3 games, but just signed a new contract. Darren Williams in central defence is 31, Eddie Malone is the left back, 23, and has started almost all their games. Right back is Michael Paton, again starting most games. Gary MacKenzie, 23 seems to be the highest rated, ex-Rangers, last season Dundee conceded only 30 and he was "at the heart of the defence"
  2. Wilson would be the obvious choice. Squad is paper thin as it is. Perhaps its Bre....
  3. I think everything has been chewed over apart from whether Black will leave in January or at the end of his contract. Hearts have said they are after a striker and have too many midfielders and need to shift players, so i doubt that they will be spending any cash on a player they will have for free in the summer. Double edged sword. And this just in from BBC website I love the quote that "There are people behind the scenes that have looked after me very well and I've learned a lot," Behind the scenes... (Edited for BBC link)
  4. True enough. But if Southampton drag their feet perhaps we could have a loan of him til end of season?
  5. You mean after the Hamilton game, no way the board will be able to get the cobwebs off before then... I think Brewster the player is probably every managers dream, hence why Calderwood loves him so much, Brewster was basically teachers pet as a player. As a coach at Aberdeen, why not? Look at Alex Miller, Roy Aitken etc, no use at management but still got good jobs as coaches.
  6. Ha ha. Ok, lets go down 20 years or so.. Alex Pearce (20) (Reading/Southampton loan) Centre back. On loan at St Marys until Jan 1st. Played 7 games. Looks like a strong guy, in U21 Scotland squad, 6ft.
  7. Dorrans is a good call. Only one substitute appearance this season at home against Man City. How about David Gray (20) (Man Utd) right back/right mid. Could get him on loan, from Edinburgh, do a job on the right.
  8. Seems a lot less than a year since Phil O'Donnell collapsed and died. As some will have already seen, the Motherwell players are going to have a huddle at the Motherwell and ICT game pre match in remembrance, as reported on the BBC website. They will be going to the graveyard before or after the match too. A tough day for all linked with the Steelmen. Gone but not forgotten.
  9. According to the ICT Code of Practice you should have received a response to your enquiry within 14 days unless there are some special circumstances. Remember, the club "...will consult our supporters on a regular basis both through the Supporters Trust meetings and ongoing direct communication. Supporters who are not members of this Trust will be consulted through informal activities." So, those who never received a reply must have made a mistake on the stadium address, the stamp fell off, your return address was not enclosed/legible, or "unless circumstances which renders our administration unable to respond." Please try to remember, that ICT "...will continually seek to improve the quality of service we provide for our supporters. We (ICT) seek to achieve the highest level of service to all our supporters. We (ICT) will treat all our customers in a professional and courteous manner."
  10. Indeed, have a look at previous transactions. Niculae - (Romanian International, Euro 2008 player) Rankin (Scotland B,) Brown (SPL winner, Scotland B,) Robson (SPL winner, Scotland International, Champions League player) Black (Scotland B,) Add to that, Darren Dods, Graham Bayne, Dennis Wyness, Craig Dargo, Bobby Mann and it makes for a pretty darn good team. I understand that we are a selling club - that doesn't mean we leave the front door unlocked for all and sundry to come in. And how much money, in total, have we reaped for the above players? Any ideas?
  11. Well, thats the star of the team on his way. The news of Cowie must be just around the corner. A midfield of Imrie , Duncan, McBain, Vigurs and Sutherland. Hope they can rise to the occassion. Its step up time!
  12. Gary McAllister - 11 months - 10 wins out of 21, 5 consecutive defeats - sacked Paul Ince - 6 months - 3 wins in 17 games - sacked Juande Ramos - 08/09 season - 8 games 2 pts - sacked Sam Allardyce - 24 games (Newc) 8 wins - sacked Craig Brewster 08/09 5 wins in 19 games - Sitting pretty
  13. Looks like, from the previous excellent posts, that the current squad has three automatic names on the team sheet, Esson, Tokely and Munro, and without Black and Cowie there are no others. Duncan, Rooney, McBain, Hastings, Proctor and McGuire are regarded as decent. Imrie, Wood, Vigurs, Duff have potential. Gillespie, Sutherland, Barrowman, McAllister have yet to prove worth for a variety of reasons. Only three players are regarded as indispensible. Thats not instilling anyone with confidence, especially as they are not creative players, even if, as Scotty says, you add Duncan as the unsung heroes. In the past we have had players such as Brown, Niculae, Robson, Wilson, Mann, Rankin, Dods, Bayne, Dargo, Wyness who were responsible for our decent form. Basically, the squad has been decimated.
  14. I suggest the following chants Brewster, Brewster, please resign Brewster, Brewster, please quit your job Board members, please dismiss him Remain seated, if you want the manager to leave Brewster you are underperforming KMCN - which one would the board listen to? We all really want him gone so if you could help us out here...
  15. Christ sake mun. Get a sense of humour then go back and read every word I wrote. Sorry if I forgot the tongue in cheek smiley Alex - Sorry! Re-read and i see it now, i am a feckin eejit!
  16. I think thats very offensive towards Deer who had, and may i add still have, their heads boiled. Miss ICT - you raised a good point and i think you have stimulated a lot of discussion, for and against. The forum would be a very boring place if people only presented obvious or bland topics.
  17. KMCN... downright rude? Lack of intelligence? So, anybody who swears is lacking in intelligence? An interesting anthropological argument, based on...? A few of the responses were a bit rude, granted, but most weren't. I could argue the finer points, but the bottom line is, if you dont want your kids to hear swear words, you really should choose Whin park instead of Caley park
  18. Eh? Bully boy responses? Dont see that at all Alex. Could you tell us what post is bullying. Miss ICT obviously wanted an opinion and thats what she got, the Carlsberg one was quite amusing. I think being a little less sensitive may help. Swearing always will be part and parcel of the game, and it is a valid point, no doubt, however i think that if you want to go somewhere where swear words will not be heard, then a football stadium is a poor choice, family section or not.
  19. Unfortunately Miss ICT, its part of the game, as much as the pies and bovril are. I was raised not to swear however swearing is part of our language, and actually they are not so offensive, actually when people swear they are infact speaking a foreign language, scandanavian or Latin. Swaering is a linguistic art passed down through hundreds, even thosands of years. Personally i think there is futuere all wrong with it!
  20. I welcome the communication, and acknowledgement that there is a problem. I would hope that the board are laying down the groundwork here of dismissal. That money needs to be kept to attract a new manager to the club not for the current manager. The worst situation we could be in would be to sack Brewster after the transfer window, having spent all our money on his choice of players, and leaving the replacement manager with no cash and a poor squad. Its a cliche, but its now or never gentlemen of the board
  21. Can only listen on the radio as not on the same continent, hope i can still offer my opinion, right or wrong, from time to time? It does seem, from various sources, that luck deserted the team.... but didnt score and conceded three, thats not solely down to luck or the lack of it, in my opinion...
  22. He is the Coventry academy manager, newly appointed, doubt he would leave them so quickly but you never know.
  23. Fun Fan 1 - welcome, and a good first post imo, (dinnae listen to the troll), anyway, its the preverbial "...til we are blue in the face" the board arent going to listen, unless its on their TVs, which may be the case after the other debacle. Time after time ICT are putting their foot in it, infact, i think our club now has the worst relationship of any SPL club with its fans.... Pro Brewster is a valiant stance, and to use Star Wars, those who support him add balance to the force, but thats all.
  24. The standard of Japanese football is really good, pacey, lots of skill, but not too physical, especially in the air, not many goals scored by headers and almost no goalmouth melees, thats why they conceded 5 but overall, good standard over here. Man Utd to shade it but not by much. Tournament is a joke though, to be honest, imo
