  1. Ha ha ha. Mine is in the post! I have to wake upat 6.30am for work so ive banned any weekday play, but at the weekend its all mine...goodbye reality, hello fantasy!
  2. Dont like to double post, but I think that the defence is not to blame because they are being put under pressure 1) They are being badly managed 2) a lack of creativity and attacking further up. Thats why I wouldnt see wholesale changes there, and lets face it, 4 SPL standard players is going to be the absoulte maximum the board will bring in, so there are other areas of greater need.
  3. GK Esson LB Hastings CB Munro CB ( ) RB Tokely LM Imrie CM Vigurs CM ( ) RM ( ) FWD Rooney FWD ( ) Subs: Fraser, McGuire, Proctor, McBain, Duncan, Wood, Sutherland. So a CB, CM, RM, FWD. 4. If Brewster can bring in a CB as a leader, and very creative midfielders and a forward then a fighting chance there will be.
  4. To be honest, a 28 year old reserve player from a league where the winners still have to compete in the first qualifying round of the Champions league, who hasn't been capped for Latvia won't get many off of their seats. But too early to pass any judgement. However, we have been told that significant investment was being made. I imagine that the transfer fee wont top 30,000 pound, so this had better not be one of these "big signings"
  5. Full story in The Herald Inverness Caledonian Thistle have taken Latvian Pavels Mihadjuks on trial. The 28-year-old started training with the club yesterday and has already impressed manager Craig Brewster. The defender joined FK Ventspils a year ago from Skonto Riga. He helped the club pip Skonto to Latvia's Premier League title in 2008, and played in a Champions League second round qualifying defeat to Norway's FK Brann... Pavels Mihadjuks, 189cm, 88kg (6ft 2" , 13 stones 12lbs) is a reserve player for FK Ventspils. He was bought from Skonto Riga a season ago for 50,000euros (45,000 pounds). He is a former U21 international, and played against Scotland in 2001 where the Scotsman reported, "Gary Caldwell then made a well-timed penalty area tackle on Pavels Mihadjuks as the big No5 surged forward chasing a one-two." He is a defender, but described as a central midfielder on some websites, leading to the conclusion he is a central defender. FK Ventspils have been Latvian champions for the past three seasons, though Champions league involvement was a first qualifying round 4-1 aggregate win over Llanelli of Wales then lost to Brann Bergen of Norway in the second qualifying. The previous season, They won on away goals rule in the first qualifying stage against New Saints, also of Wales, 4-4.
  6. Classic. To be fair if I was Londoner I wo.... nah, I'd still know. Inverness is East coast, so East Highland is fair. North East Highlands would be Caithness and Sutherland. North is too general, and Moray firth wouldnt help anyone find it. New name for ICT....East Highland United.
  7. Thats too easy. They are, ahem, not conducive to the word used to indicate the affirmative. By the way, anyone seen the new Jim Carrey movie, i forget the name....
  8. Caley D... you really think they wont strengthen? I memorised the word "substantial" in one article, as regards transfer budget. I would be surprised if there are not three quality players brought in, as that is what has been indicated from George Fraser and Brewster. I cannot believe that they would be so naive as to allow the transfer window shut without a darned good stab at bringing in players, I hope I am not proved wrong.
  9. I'll be surprised but I wont be throwing a hissy fit and demanding his resignantion. I don't believe we will be any better off with someone else, even Sir Ferguson would have struggled with the squad, budget and most importantly the fans we have at the moment. What nonsense. So the club are in the doldrums because of the fans. Please elaborate.
  10. Johnboy. I can see your point but as I see it, we have Rooney, Tokely, Munro, Cowie, Esson, that are out and out SPL. Duncan, McGuire, Hastings, McBain, Imrie would not look out of place at St Johnstone but that is the difference. Look at the quality that has left and not been replaced, Niculae, Rankin, Black, Wyness, Dargo, Bayne, Dods, Mann. That was a time when we had an SPL team. January had better bring some goodies. Related to press, The Courier and Highland News are on Stadium road, there wont be any impartiality there. the P and J have Brewster as a columnist. Its all tied up quite neatly.
  11. Brewster knows that he is facing a career outside of football if he can't turn things around. He isn't suited to be a pundit, Jimmy has too many coaches and Dunfermline are doing well. Ionikos are probably ok. Its last chance saloon. So I know he does care, I know he wants to be a success, but he is not cut out to be a manager. Where is the evidence to suggest otherwise? Only in this club would the board be fighting to keep a manager who was sacked from his old job for exactly the same reason
  12. Great. So now Bennett has joined the David Sutherland bandwagon of "The only problem at ICT is the fans". Bennett and Sutherland expect the fans to sit back idly and do nothing? Lets make something clear, any other club,in any other league, would do the same. ICT are unique in that the fans are not allowed to air their grievances. This is what has been said from the Owner and vice-Chairman. It is this attitude that ICT is a totalitarian entity that annoys everyone. The inability of those in jobs (yes, Mr Bennett you are an employee, not a dictator) that rankles most. Until the board learn some humility then there will be no reconciliation. Pull together? You have alienated yourself so far that the schism between the fans and the club grows wider everyday. The reason why there is no togetherness is because you are aloof. Aloof.
  13. Interesting Scottish parliament analogy. I think that herein lies the problem. I do think that it is a case of the board trying to show who is boss. It is easier for them however to lambast the fans who criticise rather than accept, or even try to understand, their concerns. Other clubs would appeal to the fans but it seems at ICT it is a case of "how dare you complain." There are many accusations flying around but I dare anyone to challenge the idea that the board of ICT are unable to accept criticism. You only need to look at the Courier and David Sutherlands attack on the Trust chairman. A worrying fact for the future.
  14. Devils advocate. A section of the support who like nothing more than a whinge and a moan, spitting the dummy because they think they know how to run a football club, real supporters support through thick and thin, not expecting the moon on a stick. Its a fashion these days calling for the managers head, and these guys are just following the media like lambs. The board cant act on the whims of supporters else the club would be in chaos. There are successful businesmen at the helm who have seen it all and more. Let them bicker away, never happy, theres no pleasing some people. (N.B. I do not subscribe to this view but know that some, somewhere, may well do. The above opinion is not a quote, just an example)
  15. Malcolm Thompson: "The players are not negative at all, they are very positive and upbeat." P and J 3rd Jan 09 Craig Brewster: "...when youre on a run of bad games, the confidence is low and its clearly low" BBC 3oth Dec 08 The right hand doesnt know what the left hand is doing
  16. If he plays well, there will be a move, he obviously is dying to play for Rangers, so it all hinges on Walter Smith saying yes or no. I think Rangers do well at getting players on bosmans then punting them onto the championship for a few hundred thousand, and that will probably be the case here. Another Allan Gow.
  17. ?Nothing from outside the club affects us." What is inside the club? Players, team management, executive staff and management. And the fans? Are the fans inside or outside the club? Surely, inside. I mean, if Malky wants to talk about dividing his life into inside and outside then what constitutes that? The fans are very much inside the club so i would see that as a thinly veiled sleight. But typical of the attitude that is obviously present in the corridors of Caledonian stadium, a siege mentality, and the fans have **** all to do with the club.
  18. Is this how we should address the aforementioned? ;)
  19. Oh my! What on earth is malky talking about? No wonder the players cant stand him. "There is no panic" ok, so... losing 5 games on the trot, being humped 3-0 at home to your rivals and being joint bottom of the league with a goal difference of -14, losing 13 drawing 2 and winning 5, second worst defence in the league, with the two best players allowed to go to clubs in the same division for nothing... is on target? Is it Malky? Was that the grand plan for this season? You are not in the slightest concerned then? You care not a jot.

  21. I put my signature (below) on my profile as history shows us it only takes one man to destroy something but it takes many to create it. If ICT had a PR agent (DS Tulloch's comments in the courier make me think there is not one currently employed) then he or she would be a busy boy/girl. The fact is, DS will not appoint Robbo out of spite, he doesnt like him or us, as he is above us and only deals with people of his own intellect and calibre, who say yes frequently, and that is not us or Robbo it seems. A coup d'etat will never happen, but perhaps DS should be visited by the ghost of Eddie Thompson, a great man, to learn what owners should be like. Not petulent, condescending, arrogant, aloof, egotistical, machiavellian figures like David Sutherland (Tullochs). Back on topic. I foresee Steven Pressley in charge from February, and im not wholly woriied. I think he has it in him, experience or not, to do the job.
  22. Nice stats ICTChris. It seems that Steven Pressley is your man. Which means there is still a Striker out there with an e-mail from ICT in his inbox. Kilmarnock are after Mark Burchill, and he is an experienced striker...Perhaps ICT are also after him, i would imagine he has at least been approached, a targetman for the young uns to feed off. Andy Kirk and Mark Burchill up front?
  23. Caley 100....I have seen that with my very own eyes, its in Nikko, Tochigi, 2 hrs north of Tokyo. Its in the shrine dedicated to Ieyasu Tokugawa, the unifier of feudal Japan in the late 16th,early 17th century. Brewster also uses tactics dating from then too... Back on topic, i am still livid about DS (Tullochs) comments, what did he aim to achieve by stirring remarks like these?
  24. DS (Tullochs) "If the chairman of the Supporters Trust says that then he is talking rubbish," he added. "George Fraser is totally committed to Caley Thistle and has shown that by making money available to the manager to improve the team in January." Hold on a minute! This is despicable. Who does David Sutherland (Tullochs) think he is talking to here? The condescending, lack of respect in the Courier article is disgusting. Comments like this are best kept out of the press, particularly for such an "esteemed" businessman. "...talking rubbish"? Would you like to prove that or shall you be suing the supporters trust for slander if what they said was "rubbish"? Two words...HORNETS NEST! Take your own advice and have a long hard look at yourself!
  25. Dear Mr Linton, http://www.haloscan.com/comments/theinvern...r/8351/?src=hsn Thats right, 9 comments posted on your newspaper's website. All independently giving the same opinion. That the performances thus far are not a coincidence but because of mis-management. You, however, chose to ignore this, and, with no supporting arguments, mock the support of Inverness. And your credentials as a sports reporter are? Your articles will be followed very closely from now on Mr lentil head, perhaps you may want to get some substance into your articles next time
