He has taken in the odd gem like Foran but the majority of his signings have been terrible.
-
Yes agree with that but so will we drop more points, while I see where you are coming from personally I would rather be clear at the top rather than mid table, can you honestly say that at the start of the season you would have chosen us to be in this position at this stage.

Don't need to be an expert to know the weakness's of our defence Alex :)

I don't think that you can pin it down to one thing and there are various things that have gone drastically wrong over the last few years. I think that the Niculae era could have been handled better by the club, they should have set the record straight that he wasn't earning close to 4k a week at the very start, to this day this amazes me, the guy was getting shot down for what he was reportedly earning and his employers who knew this wasn't the case left him out to dry. The Savage/Sutherland power struggle had a terrible effect throughout the club. While with hindsight re-appointing Brewster was a mistake it was a mistake that could have been salvaged if the club had got rid of him before Xmas instead of giving him more money to spend on players when it obviously wasn't working rather than take a new manager and give him a bit of time to get his signings in. Also one reason and one that I think is one of the most important in putting us in the position we are now is the way the club seem totally unable sort players contracts out when they should have been, we would not have lost a great number of the quality players that we have if these had been carried out in a professional and forward thinking manner and to make matters worse have lost nearly every quality player we have had for next to nothing. . As to our current position. At this time of season I actually prefer us being mid table but within touch. The pressure is on the top clubs week in week out and they will crack. Would rather the gap stayed at 4 points though but 7 ain't beyond reach and there's a long way to go yet. So what you are saying Alex is you are happy we have dropped all the points we have.

Not sure that the contract thing was the reason a number of players left. I think there may be some who didn't want to stay under Brewster. Wages were also a reason some didn't stay. When I spoke to one player about his reason for going his reply was...would you stay in your current job if you were offered three times as much to move. Yes Alex not saying with all, but for example, it was obvious that after a month or so of Cowie first coming he was a player, why not sign him up on a longer term contract then, reason we are short sighted when it comes to things like this

But thats the question. How do they know how to play us? Before this season they hadnt played us in a competitive match in over 5 years so how have they got to know our play? Good management and training. Adams seems to get his players motivated for the big games, whereas Butcher seems to have some trouble doing this from time to time. County perhaps haven't changed their tactics/squad specifically for the derbies, but in terms of the players that they have they are just the type we cannot cope with. We are large, immobile and really not physical enough. County seem to have a good mix of physical/tricky, nippy players like Gardyne. But im still bewildered by the fact that there was a mass exodus of good players from big teams due to the CC and why did we not pick up any of them??? Because we couldn't afford the wages. Has it not occured to anyone that the reason County are beating us may well be Brewster. Alex ,are you meaning because of his help to them with the fitness side of the game because I think our team has changed so much from Brewsters time he wouldn't have any more idea about how we would play than Adams

Perhaps it could be argued that County outplayed us but to be honest saying the best team lost is talking tosh, who played well for us today??
-
Personally I would be delighted to see him and Malpas walk out the door tomorrow, however they ain't going to walk, the club couldn't afford to get rid of them even if they wanted to, so whether we like it or not they are here for a while yet so best just get on with it.

I cannot for the life of me understand TB's thinking, ICT were beaten once already, by the County, so he must have known how they played, hasn't he also got people watching them, there formations etc: and lets face it Derek Adams isn't well known as a manager but he seems to be doing the business at County. So my question is why isn't the vastly applauded TB not doing the same at ICT??? , bet Derek Adams wages, do not come NEAR TB's But Butcher is a well known manager, well known for been appalling at just about every club he has managed.
-
A poor second, at present County are a better side than us. Beating a couple of poor sides was a false dawn at the moment we are a bad side. Edit to add, how the heck Butcher finds Bulvitis a capable defender is beyond me, ship him out as soon as possible

I see that Rangers have now been charged by Uefa for the trouble last night.
-
Reports that the Romanian stewards were waving cash at Rangers are unconfirmed :D
-
Was hearing from a few friends that were at the Rangers game tonight in Romania tonight that their **** fans ripped up the seats and started fighting with the Police. Apparently they got a good hammering and pepper sprayed for their troubles :D .

It would be very sad to see Gerrard end up like Alan Shearer, playing out his days at a hasbeen club with nothing to show for his greatness, and wishing for the rest of his life that he had made a move to a top club when he was in his prime. Did Shearer not win the title at Blackburn?

I see that Inverurie Locos have offered to pay for Clach's travel down there this weekend, what a great gesture :004: :025:

Would the desision to get rid of Danny not have been made at Board level rather than Mike Smith, I think you might find this to be the case.
-
Darren was manager of the Health Club that is now called Bannatynes before he came to the club.
-
Agree, but same could be said of Rooney a couple of weeks ago, its amazing the turnaround a couple of games and a few goals can make.
-
I know I am probably in the minority but I still think given the right service and a decent run in the team Barrowman can score goals in this division
-
Played 6 Won 1 can hardly be construed as finding home form. When we beat Livi, Raith and Dundee then I'll concede that we've found home form but like others have said I believe we will stay up. I think its more a case of Butcher having found the right formation rather than a case of finding home form, I am not saying that we have suddenly turned into a team of world beaters and some sterner tests are coming, but I am looking forward to them with a lot more confidence than I was a couple of weeks ago.
-
Would you include the County game in that Don
-
Good luck in your new role Darren
-
I think its more down to the manager playing the right formation
-
You can only beat whats in front of you Scarlet,
