Terry and MM can only work with what the have got. But surely they can tell our defenders to do the right things??? Terry and MM were both great defenders back in there day. Can they no pass on there knowledge to our defenders By the same token if Alan Shearer had been appointed manager would we expect him to turn Barrowman into a striker that would score 30 SPL goals a season. I am sure they do work on defending on the training ground but while they can organise the defence and improve players over time the fact is a few of them just dont have the required ability

lets be real about this ... Its Aberdeen, a perpetual top six team, at their home ground in a very tight game .... no panic in losing this one ... a draw or win would have been nice, but it would have been a bonus !!! Totally agree that a win or draw would have been a bonus but it sounds like the second half performance was a shocker and that is a worry

No. They had a 5pm deadline on wednesday i think but since terry was away i dont think MM would have being aloud to take in a keeper without Terry being there I doubt that Terry been away would have affected taking in a loan keeper, I am sure that Terry would have been communicating with MM while he was away. The reason a loan keeper was not taken in is they would have had to take him in until the end of the season while he would probably only be needed for 1 game on the bench.

I am a friend of Florin Petre who plays is Romania a wide midfielder, he is tiny approx 5ft 4 inches and around 9 stone, he is still a Romanian international 50 caps and 5 goals, playing in Russia at the moment so it shows that size has not hampered him.

Hi S1 I have never, at any time, differed with anyone on this forum re tactics - I could have, with my apprenticeship in football management, time served, on the terracing at the jags park! This, I would submit, is the level of tactical understanding the ex Caley fans aspire to. However, I do differ with some comments on here and get a reaction, when I point out the obvious. Attacking a player, via a chrystal ball, is nonsense. Stating that players are afraid to pass the ball to a fellow player/ are covering for a fellow player, is absolute tosh! The manager standing on the line, sober, having coached the players all week cannot see this?? Don't be daft! He would have the problem player off the park in two seconds flat and replaced. Our tactics on Saturday - we went for it when we lost the goal(s) and left gaps at the back. Is this a fault? If we had managed to get a point it was a good exercise, we lost another two goals because of this, so what, it was worth a try but it did make the defence look iffy! Bad management? Don't think so! Bad fans reaction? Maybe! . Absent. I am not sure where you are coming from, I certainly wasnt having a go at the manager all I was saying is that football is a game of opinions and fans have always had a go at tactics from time to time and will continue to do so. After Saturdays performance I think it is only to be expected that there would be some reaction, does saturdays performance make Butcher a bad manager, of course not, did he get it wrong on saturday perhaps, will he get it right again next week, I am sure he will

The fact is that all football fans question their managers tactics from time to time, I have heard Man U fans question Fergies tactics at times, does it mean they want rid off him of course not. Football is for the supporters and why cant they have an opinion regarding their teams tactics. And any manager regardless of experience etc will admit from time to time that they got the tactics wrong, it only makes them a bad manager if they continue to make the same mistakes

Was Barrowman injured today? if not Butcher couldnt have been to impressed with him last week as never even made bench today

Yes I would say this was the main reason, particulary for the celtic game I am not sure that butcher would have had that much time to work on the coaching with him, but whatever the reason it is a welcome surprise.
