  1. Yes this is the one I heard Alan Savage bid for Clach and as soon as The Builder heard about it he also bid. Would you believe it, just like a primary school playground. Never heard that but wouldnt surprise me.
  2. Yes this is the one I heard
  3. No definetly not
  4. Heard very strong rumours today that Clach are been bought over, cant say who it is at moment but lets just say it will be very interesting
  5. Considering that I was living in Romania for all our years climbing up the divisions to the SPL I have not been to many of these grounds and will get to as many as possible.
  6. The Highland League, oh sorry didn't realise you meant what position. Only joking I am a Rossco fan, think Butcher likes him as central defender but I would put him back at RB and definetly not a striker.
  7. .... as exemplified by the Loyalist nutters in Northern Ireland who are now turning on the Romanian refugees in the hope of hounding them out? They've even vandalised a local church which gave the Romanians shelter. It's exactly the same mentality and Orange Lodge arrogance as they employ against the Catholics.... a vile sectarian mindset. It makes me feel quite sick that people like that should claim to declare "Loyalty" to the country of which I am a citizen. This is the BNP marching to the strains of Danny Boy. As I said much earlier in this thread, why didn't they just let the whole of Ireland go its own way in 1921? That might at least have given some of them who needed it a taste of what it's like to be an oppressed minority and tarred them with their own brush. But what we're seeing here is quite simply the "Loyalists'" Romanian version of the Famine Song - "Communism is over, why don't you go home". (PS - this is the view of someone who was "brung up a Proddy" and who has only ever been inside a Chapel for three Catholic funerals. That, by the way, is a "crime" which former Lord Chancellor Lord MacKay committed once and was chucked out of the Free Presbyterian Church - the Highlands' answer to religious intolerance.) :whip01: Very well put Charles, particulary close to my heart as you know my wife comes from Romania, I lived there for over 7 years and was only ever made to feel welcome, it is with great shame that I see it on the headlines on the Romanian news how their people are been driven out of our modern and tolerant country.
  8. I have heard different Alex but who knows
  9. Thanks IHE, as much as I would like to not in a position to at present.
  10. I thought that Alec Cleland would have a role, but sadly he has gone too. More like Charlie Christie will fill Dannys boots I would think yes thats how I imagine it will play out as well LG
  11. Pleased to see the statement, only down side for me is the loss of Danny who did a lot of great work on the youth side of things
  12. It features 24 teams from North and Central America and the Carribean. Format: http://www.concacaf.com/competitions/champ...010/format.aspx Qualifiers: http://www.concacaf.com/competitions/champ...0/qteams09.aspx The Canadian Champions have to play in the preliminary round, this will be against Puerto Rico Islanders and if we win, we go in a group containing MLS champions Columbus Crew. The Crew are TFC's nearest rivals geographically and in the eyes of many fans, they are to Toronto what County is to ICT.... Incidentally, Columbus were put out by PRI last year so winning the preliminary game is no walkover. PRELIMINARY ROUND San Francisco (PAN) vs. San Juan Jabloteh (TRI) Pachuca (MEX) vs. Jalapa (GUA) New York Red Bulls (USA) vs. W Connection (TRI) Olimpia (HON) vs. Arabe Unido (PAN) Cruz Azul (MEX) vs. Herediano (CRC) D.C. United (USA) vs. Chalatenango (SLV) Liberia (CRC) vs. Real Espana (HON) Toronto FC (CAN) vs. Puerto Rico Islanders (PUR) GROUP STAGE Group A Houston Dynamo (USA) Metapan (SLV) Pachuca (MEX) or Jalapa (GUA) Olimpia (HON) or Arabe Unido (PAN) Group B Toluca (MEX) Marathon (HON) D.C. United (USA) or Chalatenango (SLV) San Juan Jabloteh (TRI) or San Francisco FC (PAN) Group C Columbus Crew (USA) Saprissa (CRC) Cruz Azul (MEX) or Herediano (CRC) Toronto FC (CAN) or Puerto Rico Islanders (PUR) Group D Pumas UNAM (MEX) Comunicaciones (GUA) New York Red Bulls (USA) or W Connection (TRI) Liberia (CRC) or Real Espana (HON) If you get through (hopefully) some amount of travelling involved for the away games Scotty
  13. Steve Staunton will get that job
  14. Must be a few caps amongst that few particulary Sergei's contribution
  15. 6 or 7 million Dont think the club would be valued at that much My guess is it would take about 2m to buy out the shareholdings, a further 2m to buy the stadium rights and an initial investment of 3m to get the club back on a strong footing. So 7m is probably pretty close to the requirement. All in all to much for anyone to take over, so by the 3m to get the club on a strong footing which is highly unlikey does this mean we are never likely to get back on a strong footing
  16. Alex how many fans do you think didnt boost the bankbook because they are fed up of the lack of communication from the club, fed up of the way the club fail to improve the matchday experience, fed up as it was obvious to all apart from those upstairs that we were only going one way under Brewsters stewardship
  17. Was that aimed at me
  18. Although some have their doubts about Butcher, myself included I am right behind him for the coming season. I believe the problems at the club run a lot deeper that the management on the football side.
  19. A lot of people out there would like to know where he gets his information from. Underneath the giant toad stool at the bottom of Dingly Dell would be my guess.... I dont profess to get information from anyone. As I said, 'it is my understanding'. An understanding based on comments made in conversation with a person or persons with some close ties to the club. If my understanding of things is wrong then so be it. If I interprerate something to be different to how it was intended then I apologise. Like anyone else I am entitled to make my comments and views without being subjected to childish spat from the Johnboys of the land. As for the part about sell on clauses, on re-reading what I wrote I realise I should have inserted 'generally' between clauses and only and 'normally' between never and when. I will edit and correct to avoid further confusion. Alex I wasnt having a go just clearing up things from what I know
  20. Totally agree until we see the squad complete it is difficult to say, I would be more confident if we could hold onto Eric and Foran
  21. Alex I dont know where you get your information from but it is not accurate. Niculae never requested or never had a release clause in his contract to any team, he had a standard 2 year contract. There was a sell on clause in the contract that was negotiated between the player and the DOF, Alan Savage was not present, I know this as fact as I was present. As for the sell on clause only ever happening when the player concerned is an upcoming star, no idea where you pulled this from but I can assure you this is not true
  22. He is most likely to go to Liege, as their new manager was the manager at Sporting Lisbon when Marius was there.
  23. Exactly its a case of wait and see and hope for the best
  24. The 3m asking price might be a slight problem Johnboy
