Hamilton officially relegated
Can't say I'm sad. Worst footballing side in the spl this season in my view.

Play for show
I think that our good performances against the OF is not because of who they are but because their need to try and dictate play allows us the opportunity to play to our strengths - on the break. Against teams who might sit in, eg Hamilton, we struggle to play on the break as much and don't create as much.

Club Statement on Player Departures
Agreed. A poorly worded statement that may well have been rushed out given that rumours were already rife. As I asked in russell's thread, does anyone know if these 4 are the only ones being axed?
-
Russell Duncan & Grant Munro leaving
Does the issue of this statement mean that these are the only 4 being axed by the club (with any others leaving of their own choice)?

Aberdeen -V- ICT : Matchday thread
Couldn't agree more. Nothing wrong with local rivalry AND highland solidarity! Both clubs in the upper echelons of our game can only be good for the area.

ICT -V- Hearts : Matchday Thread
Certainly a dreadful piece or refereeing at their goal (although there were a few others too). I think that, even with that a draw was probably fair. We were well on top early on - should have taken our chances though - but the hertz did improve as the game went on, aside from a lot of "gamesmanship"! The refereeing at their goal will, however, overshadow everything else in the game!

Hayes out for rest of the season
I recall them saying on Sportsound that each position up the table (at least in the bottom six) was worth an extra ?78-80k last season, so certainly, as Scotty says, it would seem sensible for the club to work backwards from when we need him fit to when the op has to be done. Of course they may have done that, and it might be that now is the time. We will certainly miss him for the run in but, as I think has been mentioned on other threads, his injuries and this op will keep him out of the limelight and less susceptible to bids from any potentially interested parties.

10 Team SPL - Confirmed...
The BBC website has quoted Mr Doncaster as saying that ".....all 12 clubs have agreed to the statement today so hopefully this gives us a mandate to move forward......". If this is the case, then it seems a fairly significant swing by those clubs that had previously indicated their resistance to the 10 team proposal. If not the case, then it will be another almighty clanger by Mr Doncaster on this subject!

Matchday Thread: Rangers -V- I.C.T.
Not so shure maself - it was just a case of collision - you dont ger those type of decisions at Ibrox. Cant believe that the highlights didnt include the Hayes run in the closing minutes where a cut cabck to Foran, or even Rooney would have been a sure fire winner. It's not so much a collision as Weir turns into him rather than the two colliding. Knows exactly what he's doing, but like you say, you don't get them at Ibrox. Couldn't agree more. Weir definitely deliberately turned into Foran to block off his run. There was no attempt to get the ball whatsoever. With the benefit of the replays I think this is a stonewall penalty and, debatably, a straight red for Weir. I also agree that you don't get those type of decisions at Ibrox, unless of course you are wearing a gers shirt! Nevertheless, still a brilliant result. Well done to all concerned!!

Season Ticket Holders Being Forced to Move
You're right, maybe we should all write to the board and get them build us something more akin to the Emirates Stadium!!!! :swear02: The club are between a rock and a hard place here. Issues have been raised that they HAVE to address and they are communicating with the affected fans to TRY to reach an amicable solution. I'm sure that the club, just like the fanbase at large, would prefer that this disruption could be avoided but it obviously can't. Why is it that that a proportion of contributors to this forum are always very quick to start criticising and jumping on bandwagons? Criticism is very simple to do, particularly retrospectively, but is not at all helpful. To all those that are criticising now, what would you reasonably suggest that the club should be doing that they aren't (based on the situation that the club is NOW in)? This is an overly harsh view of the opinions of the people being affected by this. The majority of people who are being asked to move appear to understand the reasons behind the request and accept the fact that something has to be done. Reaching an acceptable conclusion however is going to be dependant on the location of the alternative seating. In many occasions the people affected have been sitting in the seats for a large number of seasons and if the proposed alternative seat in a location which is less attractive (e.g. from the rear of the JMD Stand or back row of the North Stand to somewhere down the front or being moved from behind the goal towards either end of the North Stand) then clearly there is going to be a feeling that they are being short changed. Is there an alternative? Not necessarily so, however it is clearly understandable why there is some concerns and disappointment for the individuals in question. Tree, my comments weren't targeted at those affected (I sympathise with them and the disruption / inconvenience that they will/are suffering), but more by the general comments of others whom aren't personally affected. Indeed, my comments about quick criticism without perhaps sitting back to appreciate the circumstances that the club find themselves in don't just apply to this thread but could be taken on a more general level.

Season Ticket Holders Being Forced to Move
I understand the negative comments that have been posted above but there needs to be some balance based on actual facts. According to the article (which seems to be the only source of information at present), nobody is being FORCED to move seats, they are being ASKED/CONSULTED about moving seats. The club obviously have to react to the issue that has been identified by the police / safety advisors / spl rules (or whatever it is) and effectively segregate the corporate punters from the home support. This is not easy, but the suggestions noted above have the following drawbacks:- - Whilst reducing the area for hospitality would perhaps have the segregative effect, it would obviously impinge on the potential corporate revenue stream - something that the club are obviously looking to avoid. EVery pound is a prisoner in the current climate and they need to try to grab all available. - Making "away" corporate punters sit in the away stand would potentially separate them from their hosts, thereby defeating the purpose of the hospitality in the first place. This is not a straight forward or easy issue to resolve and I, personally, think the club should not be criticised for communicating with the fans thay may be affected to see if a solution can be reached. In fact, they should be commended for at least trying to see if they can reach a solution (which must obviously have the agreement of the affected fans) where they can have their cake and eat it! That said, if the FACTS ultimately transpire to be different from those currently available, I reserve the right to change my view!!!!

Signed/Off/Unknown
Seems to have gone very quiet with regard to the remaining 5/6 players who have been offered contracts. Is it the case that there are all off on holiday now and therefore nothing will be confirmed for a couple of weeks, or should we be a bit worried?

Pitch Invasion Repercussions
I understand that there have been announcements on MFR (and do the club not "announce" the rule on pitch invasions on the back of the tickets?). How many stewards do you suggest? People know the rules and should be respectful enough, and supportive enough of their club, to comply with them.

Pitch Invasion Repercussions
bet you're a 5hit dad That's a really well thought out and intellectual response Mr Chibber!

Getting lost in the maths
Raith don't have nothing to play for. It is not beyond possibility that at least two of Airdrie, Ayr and Morton could overtake them and drag them into a relegation or play off position. Agree. Six points of the playoff place I think they'll be watching their backs. Yes, Raith's proximity to the drop zone can only be a good thing with their forthcoming double-header against Dundee. Here's hoping they can do themselves, and us, a favour in those two fixtures.

QOS -V- ICT : Post-Match Thread
It isn't "definitely our league" yet as, mathematically, several others can still win it. I agree that we are clearly the best placed and favourites for the championship, but lets not get carried away, in case we get left egg on our face. That said, it was another huge step closer today. The management and players need to keep the focus and not look any further thatn the next game - which is another difficult one against the Pars. I'm getting very tense as we get closer, hoping for the best, but still fearing the worst!!

WTF?
Well done Rev, made my stomach churn and gave me a horrible sick feeling until I realised the date! Managed to hook in a couple of C*unty supporters in the office tho'! Lifted their spirits after their disappointment on Tuesday, only to bring them crashing down again moments later - brilliant!!!

ICT to appeal Niculae decision
Good to see the club communicating with the fanbase on this. Irrespective of the rights and wrongs of the matter, which will obviously be fully determined in due course, it's nice to see that they're communicating with us and putting their perspective /position across (which Niculae has already done through various outlets). It may be later than the fanbase would have liked, but a positive step nonetheless.
