  1. I wouldn't say it is just cause he is a club stalwart. At the end of the day he has been one of our more consistent defenders this season and his experience could be a vital asset along side anyone we have out alongside him on the pitch.
  2. Sorry Dougal, you make no sense. ICT have survived more than capably without County for the last decade or so (bar 2009-10). At the end of the day they are our rivals, people treate rivals in many different ways. Cheeky jibes, constant insults or some may simply show them respect either way your not going to get everyone to feel the same as you. Agreed with Libero. They defnitely dislike us more. As County were making their promotion push Terry Butcher was in the papers lavishing praise on Adams and that he backed them to win. We got no such support from them when we won back in 2010.
  3. While we are on the subject of strikers would Gary Glen maybe be worth a punt at Hearts, i think he is being freed at the end of the season. His record isn't much to go on given he barely gets a game but he always seems to play well whenever he does.
  4. McLeod has just joined Portsmouth.
  5. Joe Cardle could be a decent replacement for Hayes should he leave, also agreed with Proctor. Lower leagues wouldn't be a bad place to look for talent, lads like Michael McGowan at Ayr or John Baird at Raith, guys who i'm sure would jump at the chance to get to the SPL. David Clarkson would be a superb signing but as has been well documented his wages may be a stumbling block, however Tel and Mo and maybe even Richie Foran might be able to at least spend a season here, same case with Blackie. Wouldnt mind Diamond but think he'll stay South, i noticed one of Terry's old players Brian McLean has struggled to get into the Preston team, i remember him being decent for Motherwell a few seasons back and he may see regular football as tempting enough to come North. Gotta try and look at bringing back Golobart too, given the progress he has made with us. Also i think right back needs to be looked at. Most people want Proctor gone and Piermayr has been rather in and out of the team and should they both go that just leaves Meekings who has blown hot and cold a bit recently so it may be an area we need to look at come transfer time.

    tuffey to leave?

Quality keeper who suffered simply because Esson was already a quality and established keeper here. He is too good to be an understudy so good luck to him wherever he goes.
  7. Dont think your wrong mate, can see a few more twists and turns in more than one players case...
  8. Well thats ok then, would hate him to be finished with ICT.
  9. Can anyone shed any light on why Ross Tokely was omitted completely from the squad today? Was he injured or what? On the back of the week that contracts are being offered people are going to put 2 and 2 together.
  10. Thoroughly enjoyable day out with the folks and cant wait for away days to start up next season. Was a very pleasing sight to see the team sheet, aside from Tokely and Hogg it was a team full of depth and a side that looked like they would have helped ICT to a stronger finish this season. The match itself ws a bit end of seasonsish. I would say we had the bulk of the play but were still lacking confidence in the final third and the Saints always looked dangerous on the break but suffered from the same problem and aside from Ryan Esson making to 1st class saves before half time had little to show for themselves. It was a game that was likely to be won by a set piece, Foran had already come close before at the back post with only Samson preventing his shot going in but again he wasnt dealt with and Tansey's delivery was immaculate. The fans were wonderful today as well, full voice and plenty of atmosphere. While it may not have been perfect i have no doubt that if we could add a few more quality players to this side we could really push on next season, this team has so much potential and if it is tapped into they are defnitely capable of great things...roll on 2012-13.
  11. A consistent run of wins, some wins of more than a 1 goal difference, a finishing higher than 10th that is earnt by good performances, and a cup run that dosent involve meeting Celtic. I'm probably demanding too much though.
  12. I'd happily sacrifice Owain's large wage to bring back Blackie and have Morrison as cover. As Renegade says i think Tokely, Gillet and Tuffey will be offered new deals and i can see them being accepted. Gillet has been a bit below par recently but he has had some excellent games this season as well. If Piermayr and Proctor leave a new right back is a must as well as Meekings has blown hot and cold all season.
  13. Apart from Gillet and Tuffey i wouldn't really lose sleep about losing anyone else who is out of contract.
  14. Im content with keeping both players, they both deserve another year at the club, agreed with OP. Tansey has shown flashes of quality and could come really good for us next season. McKay is playing a very difficult role as a lone striker but some one like Clarkson could be the perfect strike partner for him. I'm glad Butcher is aiming high in terms of quality players. Black and Clarkson would be brilliant to have in the squad but we would have to pull out all the stops to get them.

  16. Have a good ane folks.
  17. What i will say is that last season we were a small squad of closely knit players who had a great understanding of each other and how they played and had it not been for a few unlucky performances it would have been a side that made the top 6. IMO that was a side that deserved another crack at the top 6 but that Butcher subsequently dismantled bit by bit. I didn't agree with it because i felt he didn't have to do this but he chose to. I'm not going to shoot it down instantly because for the entire season we have had so many different and difficult circumstances disrupting our season and has allowed the better players who would be in the side virtually no time to build an understanding with each other, which could be the cause of such poor performances. Some players have not been good enough and for that the manager has to take responsibility and i hope they are disposed of and replaced. He needs to start signing players with an aim of keeping them here long term. Can only build well on stability and continuity. Agreed with the above that the board need to back him more in the market as at the end of the day Butcher can only attract players with the money he is given and if he really does have aspirations for making the top 6 he needs to be given the money to attract a better quality of player as opposed to just filling the numbers missing in the squad.
  18. Now that we know what league we will be in next year its time to see who gets hired and fired for next season. My thoughts are... For next season i would aim to keep - Esson, Tuffey, Tokely, Gillet, Tansey, OT Jones, Hayes (if he wants to stay) and Tade McKay is open to debate but imo deserves another season and Piermayr as cover if required. Proctor is most certainly for the bin and we have 3 loan players returning to their parent clubs respectively. Though it would be superb if we could retain Golobart. So with Foran, Hogg, Meekings, Sutherland, Doran The Shinnies, Morrison and Ross already signed up for next season that would give us a playing pool of around 20 players come Pre Season time assuming everyone stays and leave us short of about 5 or 6 players. Whats everyone thinking? Are you happy with retaining most of the team or are you expecting another overhaul?
  19. We are safe and to be honest that is all that matters. Game was poor but no worse than what we've seen in the last few weeks. We were better than Dunfermline but as per per usual lacked a cutting edge especially in front of goal. Graeme Shinnie's finishing was absolutely abysmal but apart from that i'm content with a point...even if Dunfermline are the worst side in the league. Only positives really to take were the return of Andy Shinnie who showed his class despite looking understandably rusty, the minutes silence which was well observed and the weather which was beautiful. Time to write off season 2011-12 and start doing some hiring and firing, roll on next season.
  20. Agreed with lukemackay. Anyone who was at pittodrie a month ago would have witnessed first hand what great supporters we have.
  21. It will all probably come down to money. I would rather we spent more money on a smaller number of quality, experienced signings than sign another large number of younger players. At 26 and 27 Clarkson and Diamond are entering the peak of their careers and will need to impress if they have aspirations to do well in their own careers. Like Libero said we have rejuvenated so many careers in the past and there is no reason why we can't do the same with players like that.
  22. Butcher's offered him a 2 year contract described as the best offer he can make to him. PanJ this morning.
  23. It's time to unsqueak those bums. Yes, it has come down to the last three games of the season for Inverness to try and secure SPL football for another season. It has been one to forget, and hopefully we can ensure safety tonight, then we can all breathe a sigh of relief and look forward to next season. We showed glimpses at Kilmarnock that we have the bottle for the battle and were unlucky for various reasons to leave empty handed. On the plus side, Billy McKay scored a couple of goals and but for the woodwork we would have scored six goals again. On the downside we are still scoring OG's and still conceding goals through our porous defence. ajsict92 has been studying this one and his preview is ready for you to whet your appetite for tonights crucial encounter. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Step up and show us what you’re made of! Dunfermline visit TCS this evening, fresh from finally picking up 3 points at home after 10 months of failing. A record of form that is no doubt the main reason behind them being rooted to the bottom of the SPL for most of the season but following the victory over Aberdeen and a well earned point at St Mirren they have managed to pull themselves within 3 points of fellow sufferers, Hibernian. ICT will be coming into this game knowing they are only requiring a solitary point to mathematically be safe. They will also be looking for a first win in 5 games and the fans will be hoping to see a much improved display, the proper pessimistic’s would argue that even a point is beyond us with 3 games to go having been subjected to 3 home defeats on the bounce. The defeat to Kilmarnock at the weekend wasn’t for the want of trying though. Many would have been left somewhat disgruntled after losing to Aberdeen on 2 own goals but the players appeared to dust themselves off and put on a display that was producing the goods up until Jonny Hayes was red carded for 2 bookable offences, our 7th red card of the season. It was disappointing to see the ten men fall short with the quality of Dean Shiels proving too hot to handle yet again but after just a flick through on the highlights it was clear that only the woodwork was what was really stopping us with eleven men. If the back four is tighter and Butcher can get the right message across to the boys then I see no reason as to why that performance cannot be emulated tonight. This will be in total our 6th different fixture against Dunfermline this season. In the league it has seen both sides draw the 3 previous games in what have all been very tight and well contested games. The epic 3-3 draw back in August is probably the pick of the bunch and was the first fixture of the season between both sides which saw Kirk and Tansey getting doubles for both sides and Jonny Hayes notch is first goal of the season. It would have been ICT’s first win of the season had it not been for the spell binding right foot of Martin Hardie who curled in a 30 yard free kick in the last minute of stoppage time. The only time a win has been recorded between the sides was back in January in the Scottish cup replay with ICT taking Dunfermline to extra time and recording a 3-1 triumph with Andrew Shinnie curling in what was arguably our best goal of the season. Terry Butcher was in the press this week calling for fans to turn up in numbers this week for the game and it would be great if his request is responded to as there is no strength like strength in numbers. It really is a case now of this young side showing that they can produce the goods when required. Both the players and the fans probably want to put behind them what has been a very disjointed and at times very disheartening season but it can’t be ignored that there is still a task very much at hand and that is survival. This team has been criticised on numerous occasions throughout the year for not getting results at important times but it really is time for that to change as the outcome if we continue on our little free fall is very unthinkable indeed. With three games left there is still the chance to produce a strong finish to the season but only if we start by picking up a result tonight, so come on lads…show us what you’re made of. ajsict92’s prediction:- Like every game we have had against the Pars this season I’m willing to bet this one like all the previous ones will be tight and given the circumstances a very tense affair. I know a point is all that is required and part of me wouldn’t mind if the players basically showed up parked the bus to play for a point but I also know that this team has a point to prove to the supporters and the only way they are going to do that is by winning. My dream would be for Gregory Tade to grab a last minute winner in front of the Pars fans who never tire of giving the big man abuse. However it goes I’m predicting a 2-1 win for ICT tonight. On a serious note Anyone who attended the Kilmarnock game would have been greatly shocked and deeply saddened at witnessing the sudden death of ICT supporter John McDonald who suffered a heart attack during the match. I’m led to believe the players are wearing black armbands tonight but I do hope there is also a minutes silence or applause before the match so that those who witnessed the tragedy on Saturday have a chance to pay their respects. LATEST TEAM NEWS Inverness have no fresh injury worries ahead of Dunfermline's visit. Jonny Hayes will have to sit this one out after his two yellow's last weekend, but the good news is that Andrew Shinnie could come into contention after breaking his foot in the cup win over the Pars back in January. Dunfermline news, Jordan McMillan, Liam Buchanan and Austin McCann are looking for a start after missing the Aberdeen game. Martin Hardie and Steven McDougall missed training with a virus but both should be fit to join the squad where experience could prove vital
  24. I noticed he's just been chucked by Bristol City. I'm sure he will have a list of suitors but given he worked under both Tel and Mo is it beyond the realms of possibility that he may fancy a fresh start back in the SPL? We are looking for a striker after all with proven ability.
  25. Could it be that if crowds varying in numbers from 200 to 3000 make you feel sick your actually suffering from agoraphobia?
