  1. Yeh it looks like Guy catches the ball and Draper's face. As RiG says it probably wasnt a red card but the referee had already dished out 8 bookings, he wasnt going to hesitate.
  2. Esson Raven, Warren, King, G Shinnie Doran, Foran, Draper, Ross McKay, Sutherland Sub: Reguero, Meekings, Cooper, Tudur-Jones, Morrison, Pepper, Oswell
  3. Having gone a goal behind and given the fact we always start slowly i would have taken a point today and on reflection was probably a fair result. We definitely started the better, neat passing and some good movement but apart from a tame effort from Shinnie had little to show for our posession and St Mirren grabbed the lead during a good spell for themselves. Nick Ross was a game changer, as soon as he came on space began to open up for us and he took his goal brilliantly, same goes for Billy, poor lad worked his arse off today but struggled to compete in the air but he made the most of Barron's error and finished his goal well. My only qualm of the day was bringing on Polworth, given that we were grinding the game out i think it would have been smarter to bring on Oswell. He would have been able to hold the ball up better and keep it in the Saints half but they grabbed their equalizer and were unlucky not to have another as Esson's save from Parkin's effort was top class. Didnt see the red card but referee showed little hesitation to show it. Thought all the new players did well. Warren and King looked decent, couple of shaky moments but i think they will gel with time. Raven looked ok but had to be cautious after getting booked. Thought Draper was immense, was all over the shop, made some great tackles and was unlucky not to score. Shinnie and Doran showed some terrific skill and after his late cameo Nick Ross has surely put himself into consideration for a starting place. Shane coped on the wing but i think Butcher should try him up front together with Billy, reckon they could crack it. Fans were immense, brilliant atmosphere and even after conceding the equalizer were in full voice till the end and gave the team an ovation. Times like this that unity is important and if everyone carries on the way they were today we will definitely pick up some wins. Looking forward to next week. A pity we didnt win but plenty to build on.

Agreed with above, no one is in great shape excluding Celtic, Dundee United and i suppose Motherwell. Hopefully with the squad being a bit smaller and their being more experience within the team then there will be a bit more unity and that could see us put a bit of form together. Dundee will struggle the most, have the smallest budget by the looks of it and for want of a better phrase have been thrown into the deep end at a dangerous time. St Mirren and Kilmarnock have enough quality to see them through but only if they keep their important players fit, think us and County fall into the same category. Hibs and Aberdeen have made some good signings but no doubt the expectation levels of a good season will wear thin after a while and they will suffer from the usual problems. Dont see our current squad setting the league alight but if we keep our own council and hold our own i will be more than happy given the turmoil this league has come under in recent months.

He's always had it in for us. He tips us for relegation almost every season and gives us next to no credit when we pull of a result. He's definitely up there along with the likes of Strachan and Andy Walker when it comes to being ignorant.
  7. Im assuming he has signed. He walked past me in Tescos car park today...

  10. Casalinuovo is a striker. Yeah i know, but i doubt there is any truth in it.
  11. Whether he is on trial or not if we have any money left it needs to go towards an attacker. We've got next to no cover and Terry seems to be the only person on this planet that thinks Shane can crack it as a winger. Im happy with what weve got so far but if theres even the slightest possibility we can sign 1 more player it needs to be an attacking player.
  12. Impressed with todays display. Defensively we were as solid as weve looked in ages and thats even with out King, Warren and Hogg in the team. Glad to hear Raven is ok, was a bad knock he took. Draper got into his stride a bit more as well and he seemed to grow in confidence as the game went on. Pick of the bunch for me was Graeme Shinnie. He defended solidly and bombed forward on a few occasions, also worth noting he set up 2 out of the 3 goals. Feeling a bit more confident about the season ahead now. Cant emphasise enough how important it is keeping A Shinnie and Doran fit but hopefully we should hold our own.

Agreed with those who thought Pepper made an impression. Can see him becoming an impact player next season.

A wins a win but we are still in need of more players, especially in defence. Warren hobbled off after about 10 minutes and Foran spent the entire match at centre back...though he gave a great shift. Thought Doran, A Shinnie and Sutherland looked superb in attack tonight, some lovely passing moves were exchanged one which led to a goal from Shane., especially Doran. Gave the full back a very hard time on the ball and was unlucky not to score. McKay took his goal well but passed up several opportunities to add to his tally but his movement was good and he may come back a better player from a proper pre season under his belt. Out of the new arrivals...well Warren hobbled off as i said. Draper looks a bit cumbersome but he got stuck in. Oswell held the ball up well and scored with his first touch, looks a decent prospect. We're moving slowly but surely in the right direction but there is still much work to be done if this team is to stand a chance of cracking on in the SPL.

Pitty, i quite fancied having him back here, thought letting him go in the first place was a bit short sighted. I suppose if he is dead keen on a move back here he could get his contract terminated. Couple of the other players that Swindon listed did that.
  18. Delighted we've got him in. We were looking a bit short in midfield and i hope he makes a good impact. Sounds like Macclesfield were pretty gutted to lose him. Lets hope their loss is our gain. Welcome to ICT mate.

Well given that height is a requirement for defenders and goalkeepers and that 3 of our 4 current signings are of such i would reserve that statement till we see what attacking players are signed.
  22. Tade and Jonny's goals. Tade's strength and persistence. Tansey's cross field passes were also decent and Golobart overall as he was our best defender last season. Still think if the majority of the squad had stayed fit we would have had a better season but no sense in looking back but it is essential that these players are suitably replaced.
  23. Realism albeit bordering on the pessimistic is probably highly representative of many fans and only happy clappers with extreme rose tinted spectacles could respond as you have. Time for a response from lukemackay.
  24. I'll reserve judgement till i see the new boys in action but to some extent i agree with you and have the same doubts. The club dont have the excuses of last season for the changes and i find it hard to believe that we are faling to attract players in Scotland as this wasnt even a problem when we came back up to the SPL. I refuse to believe that players in Scotland price themselves out of a move here, that is the club more or less saying that clubs in a lower league can afford better terms than us...concerning. What does worry me is that this was supposed to be the ICT of the future and a year on we've gone backwards if nothing else. A mass exodus that has included our top scorers and other first team players does not bode well as we will have the same problem next season if the current crop impress and bigger team comes calling. The stalwarts that left e.g Munro and Tokely were what made this club special and now that they have gone there is nothing that really seperates us from the rest and i think we just have to come to terms with it. The buck has to stop somewhere though. We cant keep reshaping and rebuilding every season, its not healthy, especially if the club are as serious as they say about making progress. As ive said i will reserve judgement though, its early days and TB has a reputation for finding some gems...heres hoping, still got faith.
