  1. Yeh! let's get rid of our best player in return for some doughball who can't get a game for Inverness city. I represent the above mentioned Inverness City player and i can categorically state that he is not interested in a move right now. He wants to stay and fight for his place.
  2. Might be worth a short term deal if no other second striker is viable. HA like that worked out so well all those years ago, he must be like 30-something now pointless signing that would be!!! Hes only 27. Is this hole going next to the Danny Webber one?
  3. A win, a clean sheet, 2 well taken goals, and a controlled performance. Cant ask for much more than that on the opening day. I will admit I was disappointed Marley and Doran were dropped though while Vincent was pretty woeful on the wing I thought Danny Williams had an excellent game. Got some good crosses in and was unlucky not to score himself leading up to Ryans goal. Was really impressed at how quickly we got at Hamilton. Christie wasted a good chance right at the start but within 10 minutes we were already ahead. Suicidal defending from Devlin but Billy was quick to react and his lob was expertly executed. Accies couldnt get the ball off us. It may not have been the most exciting but we played the game at our own temp and at times the boys seemed to make it look effortless. The 2nd goal was well worked. Draper played a lovely ball through for Williams whos shot was saved and left Ryan Christie with the simple task of poking it over the line. 2-0 up and in total control. Redmond skied a glorious chance just before half time and then Deano made a terrific full stretch save from him just on half time. Watkins came on 2nd half and smashed the bar and called McGovern into a great stop late one while earlier Tansey had seen a decent free kick palmed away. Accies sent on Curier who was the first player to make it in behind our back line but again Deano thwarted him with an excellent stop. Was really impressed with the shape today. As said we never really looked out of control. Accies were very poor and the gulf in class was clear. Mckay and Christie linked up well and Williams and Shinnie provided a potent threat on the left and Marley and Doran came on to stretch the game later on and did just that. I thought the back four looked as tight as it has looked in recent times. With the exception of maybe 2 or 3 occasions we were rarely troubled and Accies eventually resorted to desperate pot shots. The only worrying aspect for me today was Vincent. I feel for the guy because he is being played in a position he looks totally lost in and everyone seems to see it but his manager. The guy is much better suited to the middle of the park and he wont get any better on the wing. Was nice to be back in the away day swing of things. Was good fun. Looking forward to more of the same. No better way to start than topping the league - roll on 14/15
  4. Brill Raven, Warren, Meekings, Shinnie Tansey, Draper Watkins, Christie, Doran McKay Subs: Esson, Devine, Tremarco, Horner (if he's signed) , Ross, Vincent, Polworth I say stretch the Accies with our width and attack them early on. Would play Christie over Vincent simply cos I think Christie offers us that extra bit of quality in the final third and links up that bit better with Billy.
  5. Top 6 and finish above the cabbage shafters. Weve finished top 6 for the last 2 season and we havent suffered any significant losses in terms of playing staff so there is no reason for us to expect anything less. However this is a very open league at present and everyone is vying for something so there will be no easy games at all. As CaleyD says no reason for slackness, expecting 100% each week. Also hoping for a good start.
  6. Its going to be a very open league this year. Im not surprised he is saying this. It takes pressure off him. Its a small league with little room for middle ground, everyone will be scrapping for something and as we found out last season - no one is safe. As Chris points out I too am concerned about the type of football we will see. It wouldnt surprise me if we play keep ball against Hamilton tomorrow, when probably the best thing to do would be to batter them from the off with some attacking play.
  7. Striker needed, pronto. Its unfair to expect Ferguson to step into Billys shoes should he get crocked.
  8. Personally I see it panning out a little something like this Celtic Aberdeen Dundee United Motherwell St Johnstone Dundee ICT Partick Ross County Kilmarnock St Mirren Hamilton
  9. Got a problem with him No, I have no problem with him. Fact i he has the experience which could help our players like ferguson and wilson in the long term Pretty sure Duncan Shearer is doing a good enough job anyways so no point really. Should really go for someone that has potential rather than a has-been. But it's someone on the pitch that could help show them how do it in a real match Mate, your havin a 'mare here leave it lol :-D Nice big gaping hole that youve dug here Dawson. Danny Webber? Big imposing striker? Really. I would have been inclined to agree about Foran but there really is no point in talking about him while he is injured. We dont know when he's going to be back and when he does come back who knows how long it will take him to get back to match sharpness. The reality of it is we need another striker and it needs to be someone with an element of physical presence. We were extremely lucky last season that Billy never picked up any injuries as he was our main source of goals. He was ran ragged and I would say the pressure on him was proving too much at times last season. If things arent going our way though in a game we tend to get desperate but thumping long balls is no use when your main striker is 5 ft 7. I know Callum Ferguson is a promising prospect but he isnt much different in terms of style. We need someone up there with a bit more strength and that means bringing someone in, it needs to be a priority. In terms of goals the rest of the team could step up a bit more. Take away Billys goals from last season and no one else hits double figures. Doran being closest with 8. Players like Vincent and Watkins could certainly improve. They only managed 1 a piece.
  10. Agreed! Thought Tansey was our best player. He controlled pretty much everything in midfield and was always looking to get the team moving forward. When he shifted further up Fleetwood were beginning to get more joy through the middle.
  11. Good win against decent opposition but we looked suspect at times. We pass in our own box more than anywhere else but it was becoming more fluent as the game went on. No joy down the right with Vincent out wide, it will never work. Originally wasnt a fan of Williams through the middle but thought he played quite well today, was tidy with possession and did his best to get forward. Christie looked very sharp, twisting and turning and scrapping for space and Tansey held the fort firmly, spraying passes and kept control of the game. The trialist Horner showed some neat play when he got on, not sure where hes from but he did well. Neither side created a great deal of chances though Billy had a guilt edge chance before he scored and Fleetwood hit the post in the 2nd half but a wins a win. Was a bit peeved with Fleetwood's approach to the game though, they seemed intent on injuring players, not the best approach for a pre season game. The lack of options at the moment though is a real concern for me. Up front and at the back we look rather thin on the ground. New faces are needed.
  12. Gow was a great player for Falkirk. Career completely dwindled after his vanishing act at Rangers. Would be worth taking him on though as cover.
  13. We know what he is capable of which is what matters imo. Id be inclined to give him a shot.
  14. Nice to finally see that new faces are actually getting mentioned. With him only looking for one or two quality will outdo quantity. Hoping we unearth a few gems.
  15. You know where I live........ He may not but I do and the idea of getting away definitely appeals...
  16. Wish to point out that i said this months ago
  17. Saw him play against us last August at Tannadice. He was hopeless! Billy McKay was hopeless for a whole year here before he came good. We know how good Goodwillie can be. If we gave him that lease of life up here you never know what can happen.
  18. Get back in your cage now

Caley curse in a terminal disease...this is fact. No sympathy for Terry in any way - good luck signing on!
  20. Alagui would be a great signing.
  21. Good luck to whoever Russell Lapaty is then
  22. I used to think McPake was alright as well. Seemingly he's been rotten for Hibs though! Id blame Hibs for that. He was worn down by them as many good players that have played for them have been in the past. In a decent set up like ours McPake would be brilliant...doubt we'd get him though
  23. McPake is a class centre half. Wouldnt say no to him. Rest of them are guff though, no thank you.
  24. Even if we took Taylor on a season long loan and ran down his deal. Id have him in a second, great player.
