Rock Steady were taken over by G4S earlier this year, and as such retain all of Rock Steadys staff under a TUPE arrangement. G4S have the same problem as Rock Steady have, in that their staff are not licensed, next time you're at a game take the time to have a look at the Stewards, only the Supervisors are licensed. Stewards are 'apparently' supposed to contact a Supervisor in the event of anything that needs to be done. A Licensed Security Guard/Door Supervisor can use reasonable force to eject persons from a Stadium/Pub/Club/Premises, so long as they have reasonable grounds to do so. Regards the part about common sense, hear hear! Section G is where the vast majority of atmosphere/noise is coming from in the ground, nothing malicious in it at all, I truly hope that the folks there keep it up! I do agree about the gloating though, it's only going to get peoples backs up. FYI, G4S only have aproximately 12 staff local to the Inverness are, with the remainder being transported from other areas in Scotland. (this may have changed recently, so don't quote me on it).

Further to my earlier post, I thougt you might find this useful, pages 7 & 8 let you know what Stewards without SIA Licences can do. It makes for interesting reading, as there's not really a lo they can do without a Licence, apart from show you to your seat. SIA Security at Events (Including Football)

Sitting fourth in the league, the team seems to be working well together (mostly) we've finally stopped the hoofball (mostly), and people are still discussing a new manager????? :thumb04: How much better do you want it?

Posted about this on the Beni Board yesterday. Quality atmosphere from Section G on Saturday!!! As has been previously mentioned, watch out for a backlash, common sense stewarding is a thing of the past at the TCS. Best thing you can do is sit and sing, for the next couple of games, just to let to die down a bit. I'm not saying don't stand at all, just play it cool and try not to stand all the time. Big thumbs up to the lad that sttod up to the stewards, :thumb04: , well done that man. Next time you're asked to sit down, just ask to see the SIA Licence of the person who's trying to enforce the rules :018:

Loved the Bouncy today section G Keep up the good work and we might get a bit of atmosphere at the TCS yet! :D :015: :thumb04: :018: ;)

That would be Hibs, to the great delight of my missus who just loves winding me up about our record against caley! I reckon the folks on here are onto something though, If you're all sat down, regardless of whether you're singing or not, what reason would the Stewards have for approaching you to break you all up? Is anyone around you complaining to the Stewards about you? Are they complaining about your language during songs?, If so, just substitute any swearie words with something else. The gist of what I'm trying to say is make the system/rules work to your advantage. If you do things that are gonna wind the Stewards up, they're gonna win, as they have the power to eject you. If you adapt to the rules, you don't give them an excuse to persecute you and still get to sing your hearts out for your team.

Because the people over there tried to stand throughout the game despite repeated requests to sit down. No wonder it was a failure. The supporters that tried to use it thought that they were invincible. It would be great however if they could have a section of the ground that the stewards knew was going to contain more rowdy fans but ones who, when standing up, only did so with the intention of creating a good atmosphere. That way the stewarding could be more relaxed towards them. Unfortunately the Stewards are right to try and get everyone seated, them's the SPL's rules I'm afraid. I know it's not quite as much fun, but you can still sing when you're sitting down, I've been doing it for years at Easter Road. (yes I am a Hibee, but I also have season tickets for ICT and get along to every game I possibly can). I do, however, agree that the lack of consistency is ridiculous. You can't have one rule for the North Stand and one for the South! This is maybe somethibg that needs to be brought up via the supporters trust? ***awaits his slagging for being a hibee and a caley jags fan******

So they're going out of their way to harass the only group of fans making anu noise in the ground! Does anyone actually complain about the group at the top of Section G, or is everyone around them quite happy to let them get on with it? I was of the understanding that the drum was allowed to be used, if the club didn't want it in, surely it should be stopped at the gate?
-
I did think the Stewards were a bit OTT at the Hamilton game, I don't know what was said to the crew at the top of section G, but things certainly quietened down after a Steward had been up to chat to them. Pretty inconsistent considering that a smaller group of fans at the Hamilton end were allowed to stand throughout the game. Has anyone thought about photocopying/printing song sheets for the rest of the fans? I know that they do this at a number of grounds when they're looking to get a new song off the ground.

Personally I'm glad to see the back of Zibi. Regardless of his performance in the reserves, at the SPL level the guy has proven himself (Maybe not at ICT, but certainly elsewhere) as a Grade A Disaster Merchant! It might well be a pain to look at a replacement for him, however a sound investment now could save a lot of hassle if he ever got between the sticks for a run in the first team! :sillywave: :sillywave: :sillywave: :sillywave: :sillywave: :sillywave: :sillywave: :sillywave: :sillywave: :sillywave: :sillywave: :sillywave:

Dennis WAS one of ICT's most talented players, however, he is struggling at the moment and I just can't see him coming back up to his previous level. Thank you for your service to the club, but it's time to move on! :sillywave:

I would go with that, possibly switch imrie & cowie though.

Cigarettes to be banned from display
Onward and Upward replied to jaggedthistle's topic in General Nonsense
I thank you, It's good to know that my education wasn't entirely wasted! :023: I'm not saying that the displays shouldn't be removed, I'm just not sure that it will be all that effective. Is the reduction in numbers smoking not part of a wider social trend and in direct relation to the smoking ban across the country? My main concern is that we blanket ban these items (as mentalists like TCF would have us do) and we end up with even worse social problems, as happened during prohibition in 30's america. -
I'm not a particular fan of the Royalty, but they do bring revenue into the country (tourism etc.). The only thing I don't agree with is the amount of money the taxpayer has to shell out for them. They are wealthy enough already, let them stand on their own two feet. Are the current Monarchy responsible for the turmoil that was Scotland immediately before & after the battle of Culloden? I'm not up on my English history, so I'm not sure if the Hanovarians were in charge at that point? This topic really seems to have got the lefties dander up! :004: :tic01:

I reckon you're onto a winner there, With Yoda's experience in the middle of the park and spideys quick moves up front, 4 - 0's not unthinkable! :021: :021: :clapping03: :clapping03:

Easy seen why you're not in football management!

The answer is lies within Robert A Heinlein's 'Starship Troopers'. The problem is a basic lack of respect for Authority, be it parental/police/justice system. Our current liberal system doesn't appear to be working, something certainly needs to change, so do we return to a corporal punishment system? Robert A Heinlein talks about how society began falling apart in the early 21st Century with the lack of respect that children had for authority, and highlights just how tied society's hands are when it comes to punishing children for their actions. Considering that the book was first published in 1959, he's scarily accurate!

Cigarettes to be banned from display
Onward and Upward replied to jaggedthistle's topic in General Nonsense
I agree that blanket bans of these items won't work. As Jagged little Thistle mentions, Drugs are highly illegal, but still used in MASSIVE quantities. Prohibition of Alcohol was attempted in the 30's in the USA & failed miserably! Education has to be the key, making items more difficult to get just makes them more of a status symbol if you can get them, particularly for teenagers. I do agree that smoking, alcohol & drugs have a very negative affect on our society and measures need to be taken to stop their usage, however I can't think of any surefire way to make that work. I can't see how hiding fags under a shop counter wil make a difference, Media advertising for cigarettes was banned..............people still smoked, sports advertising for cigarettes was banned........................people still smoked. :024: -
Just my tuppence worth, Fraser Proctor McGuire Munro Hastings Cowie Black Paatelainen Wyness Imrie McCallister Subs: Malkowski, Tokely, Watt, Vigurs, Hart, Niculae, Bayne Flat back four, with occaisonal runs from the fullbacks, Blackie in a holding role in midfield, Paatelainen & Cowie down the wings, Wyness playing just off the front two & interchangeable with Imrie. I would pick a slightly different team, however half of our youth players are away on loan! :tic01:
-
I would love to see that team on the park and i'm pretty sure that they would beat Aberdeen, what the the constant overlap and all. I'm also pretty sure that the ref would pull us up for having an extra player on the park! :023: :021:

Funny, my Mrs and I were wondering the same thing on Saturday!

I agree with you there Alex. The Home hospitality fans are not the problem. Ok, they block the view for a minute while they fumble into seats, block the stairwells at half & full time and are usually not interested in the football :rolleyes02:, but I don't blame them for any of that, at least they're not supporting the Away team! The club does need to sort out the Hospitality though, with respect to the blocked views and the blocked stairwells. The major problem is the Away fans in the hospitality section. Fans are sick of having to put up with them and the animosity towards them is growing. The apathy that is shown by the Police and Stewards is disgusting.
