  1. I actually think that we should hold fire until January when Henry McLeish is due to deliver the first two (from three) reports/recommendations following the Scottish Football Review. We will want/need a manager in place who is willing to take up and deliver on these recommendations and there's little to be gained from appointing someone who is opposed to them.
  2. No....the Press Box :005:
  3. As I understand it, FIFA ordered that the money should be paid within a certain timescale and their was no right of appeal to FIFA...meaning the only course of appeal was via the CAS. Unless the club have asked for an extension to that date from FIFA....in light of the fact they want full details before considering their next move....then I don't think that could be used as an argument, and asking for it retrospectively (after the deadline has passed) would be more than a little naive given the possibility that they could face sanctions for failing to pay up.
  4. Is Grimsby Town Alex's wee team by any chance? :005:
  5. The club do not have one that I am aware of.
  6. Can users please stop posting links to unofficial badges/merchandise. As already mentioned earlier in the thread, the club have asked us not to allow these links as no permission has been given for the use of the club crest.
  7. Hopefully a bigger turnout than the Celtic game....do we have a date for it yet?
  8. Not sure if he's religious, or was just in a place where desperation drives you to seek help/answers wherever you can. I wouldn't say I was religious, but it's not been unknown for me to ask "God" for a bit of assistance when I've been in a hole....it does no harm, you know, just in case I've got it totally wrong and their is someone listening.
  9. I'm not manning the phone or e.mail so don't know numbers. If you only have two then give us a call and book yourself in anyway. We have others in the same boat and we'll match people up to make teams on the night. We (the Trust Board) normally enter a team of our own, but we'll happily split up to join other teams and handicap help them ;) Being a "St Andrews" quiz might give a clue as to some of the question categories, but we'll have a bit of everything mixed in.
  10. B&C...the Supporters Trust are always on the look out for people to assist in the running of events, if you'd like to contact us (either by phone or e.mail) with your details then that would be great and we could perhaps put your experience on these things to use in the future.

I close one thread on Video Footage saying we already have one running and you open another straight after....are you deliberately trying to be a pain in the ass? As I've said before, we'd have more time to deal with the things people want if they didn't go out of their way to waste our time!!! Video Footage chat here If you want to chat about other missed opportunities feel free to start a separate thread on them.

My thoughts......I think people should try and make the effort to check for existing threads on a topic before starting new ones.
  13. What happend between them two? Rossco was involved in a heavy collision and looked to have done severe damage to his arm/wrist. Physio was trying to get a look at it, but every time she touched it Rossco was pulling away in pain....have to say that there's only so many times I'd let someone grab a suspected break before telling them to do one, so don't think he was out of order at all, and you can be sure that if any apology is necessary then it will have already been given.

There's no more info to be had at the moment, but I promise that the moment I have anything more to share that I shall post it on here.
  15. If we were running a Pub Quiz were the object was to get people through the door to increase bar takings and we were charging a smaller amount then you might have a point....but as this is essentially a fund-raiser then giving away twice as much as we take in would be rather self-defeating.

If the answer you have is Gascoigne, then one of the goals was actually an O.G. so not technically a hat trick.
  17. C*unty are determined to get to the SPL before we get back there and this is the men (man) at the top walking the walk instead of just talking the talk. Adams will have an SPL sized budget for next season regardless. The hope is that they secure promotion this season, but the plan is that if they don't then the investment is being made to push hard for it next season.
  18. As the "official" launch at 6:30pm was by invitation, with signing open to all from 7:30pm then it's tough to judge how many people passed through as they were coming and going. Pele had been there pretty much all day doing interviews with TV, Radio and Press so it probably made sense to control the numbers in the evening as he must have been pretty zonked by then. I've now managed to read the first half dozen chapters...to quote the man himself "I kept the chapters short and the letters big, so it's easy reading"...and I agree that it is an extremely easy and interesting read. If any of you have read Bill Connollys biographies then the writing here seems to have been approached from a similar angle....sometimes life is chit, but you have to be able to look back and appreciate that there's a little humour in it.

  20. Was fortunate enough to get an invite (well, I hijacked a Trust Invite....lol) to attend the actual launch which took place tonight before the signing and it was great to see a very healthy looking Pele again. Pele mingled with everyone before taking his place in the spotlight and he spoke very openly and honestly about what he's been through and how the book came into being. I've read a couple of pages and it looks like it's going to prove to be a very interesting and worthwhile read. For those who missed the signing tonight, he will be in Waterstones on Saturday signing copies around mid-day.
  21. Yes. We deliberately omitted it from the poster (although we could have added "prizes" as a generic statement) as we hope to make it something a bit better than the normal...which is double your money back. We'll also have the usual raffle and/or football card with prizes.
  22. As it's a club (and we're technically having a private function) then the law is different from that of a public bar.
  23. This is actually a Supporters Trust event and we have, and are still in the process of, spreading the word. If any of you work somewhere that has a staff canteen, or a shop/public office where you can hang a poster then please print one off or give me a shout and I will arrange to get one in the post to you.
  24. ICT have been fairly fortunate when it comes to compensation for losing managers. Pele was not on a contract when he left for Aberdeen (rumour was he never ever actually had a formal contract the whole time he was with us), but refused to go unless we were compensated. The situation was (rumoured to be) the same when Brewster left after his first spell with us, and he also ensured we received just compensation....although he did then go on to offer silly amounts for players. Thoroughly looking forward to this book, not only due to his ICT connection, but the fact that Pele was (and still is) a very interesting person. Would love to think that he could find himself in a position to return to management one day. Some people seem to have that "X Factor" when it comes to football management and he is one of them and a club somewhere is missing out......maybe even our club.
  25. So, how many teams are we going to have from those who use the forum? Perhaps those who fancy it but don't have full team could get together?
