Stadium Announcer
As far as I'm concerned it's nothing to do with heritage or tradition etc, it's about entertainment...and live pipes and drums are (from the feedback I'm getting) more entertaining than a few songs battered out from a CD player. Now, I'm not sure what all tunes these guys can play but I have no issue with asking the question about whether or not they can do something other than the traditional marching tunes. I also know that the club would be more than willing to hear from any other individuals or groups who think they have an act which could provide pre-match and/or half-time entertainment. If you think you have something then drop me a PM or get in contact with Darren at the stadium. If we don't know what people want, or if we don't know what's out there and who's available then we can only go with what we have and I don't think anyone would complain about a bit of variety. If we could move on now from the personal opinions on why pipes are good/bad argument on this thread then that would be great (your welcome to start a thread about it in general chat) as it's only one aspect of the ongoing efforts to improve the matchday experience. How did people like the HT mini-matches with the kids? Would that be something you'd like to see more often? What other things would you like to see or do you think might work? What do you think of the HT Challenge and could it be improved? If so, how do you think we could do that?

You're worse than an 8yr old schoolboy who just learned a new naughty word in the playground.

Yeah I knew that, but I'd need a decent (legal) instrumental version.

I'd happily play "Bring it on Home" and if someone can point me in the direction of the tune to "Oh Inverness" then I'll see what I can do there also. The tune played at the end was Highland Cathedral....the same tune the players run out to but it was the "CaleyD Mix", a slightly faster version of the original that I put together (a few years back now) with a few extras thrown in.

It was 2 Lady GaGa tunes and they were both requested :023: Yeah, the music really early on was a bit of the older stuff....I do it that way because it's generally the "older" (over 30) fans who get to the stadium soonest, followed by the young uns who can't get into the pub, followed by the alcoholics who squeeze in as many drinks as possible before rushing to the game Was a slight communication problem between me and the Pipe Band which meant the music was a bit up and down for a few minutes.....but we'll get that sorted for when we do these things again in future.

Anyone want to give any feedback following Sundays game? Here's some from me..... Personally, I liked having the Pipes and Drums outside beforehand and then inside the ground for a couple of tunes before the kick-off. I also liked having the U9's game at HT and thought the crowd were great in getting right behind the young lads. I believe the club are keen to do more of this kind of thing in future so it would be good to get some feedback on what people thought of it all.

Ask IHE about the Police who cover ICT games....he's on first name terms with most of them

Pitch Invasion Anyone?
I tell you what then, since you're the one instigating it and you don't think it would be much of a fine....if it happens then we'll send them round to your door to collect. Topic now closed as I don't want this site involved in the organising of any such activity.

Dougie Imrie
Like a couple of other players I think Imrie is suffering due to our lack of forwards who can actually score goals. He's basically being asked to fill in in a position which isn't his natural slot because those who are employed to be there (on far better wages) are sitting on the bench because they've not proved to be anything like capable. Therefore, I think it's to his credit that he's being picked to play up front ahead of our so called forwards. Just to throw my tuppence worth in on yesterdays performance....Hamilton had obviously done their homework and spotted that during the St Mirren game every time Imrie had a chance to cut/turn inside and get the ball onto his left foot then he looked dangerous. They didn't allow him to do that yesterday and were constantly forcing him on to his weak foot. The argument for me would be whether or not Butcher should have looked to change things sooner to perhaps put Imrie somewhere he might have been more effective.

Hypothetical Manager's Dilemma
The question simply doesn't arise because there aren't nearly enough points left to be won for everyone below Motherwell to catch them. There are nine bottom six games left with a maximum total points take of 27. The five teams below Motherwell (who also have a much better goal difference) are as total of 45 points behind them. That will be why he said "Hypothetical" in the thread title Mr B.

Hypothetical Manager's Dilemma
I heard that the only reason he was in ahead of Esson was because his kicking ability is superior. However, whether you agree with that or not (and I'm not convinced) I don't think it's fair on anyone to ask him to play against his future employer. I know it's happened with players in the past and there's been no problems but it only takes one dubious looking error for it all to go wrong and fingers start getting pointed.

No....If I was kidding I would have started my post with "Knock, Knock...."

Hamilton Smileymometer
I thought Kerr was pretty anonymous in large spells of todays game and I think only one smiley for Djebi-Zadi really damages your credibility when it comes to player assessment....especially when you gave Munro three and he had a worse game, IMO.

Quote Of The Season
Maybe it's just me, but I don't seem to see as many of these apparent howlers that the guy is suppose to be guilty of. He's certainly no more guilty than others in the team and I would say that Munro had a poorer game this afternoon. Ross Tokely is also as capable of blunders but because he's been at the club longer and developed cult status then his errors are all but ignored whilst Djebi-Zadi has his blown out of proportion. Not a single mention of the positives the guy brings to the game....especially his ability to get forward and that's the second week in a row where he's had a cracking shot from a good bit out that wasn't that far from the back of the net. Time for a bit of perspective and to cut the guy a bit of slack.

Today's Games
Let me see if I can beat the other Statto's..... We're not safe with a win as we currently sit in 10th meaning that if Falkirk win 2 games from 3 against ICT, Hamilton & Killie then they will go above us on shot difference. St Mirren need only win one and draw one (and not get hammered in one) in games against Killie, Falkirk and Hamilton Motherwell get beat by Hamilton and Killie to put them both back above us. A win tomorrow puts us 1 ahead of Hamilton, 3 ahead of Killie, 4 ahead of St Mirren and 6 ahead of Falkirk If results go as follows...... Motherwell v ICT - Motherwell win Hamilton v Falkirk - Falkirk Win Killie v St Mirren - St Mirren Win Hamilton v Motherwell - Hamilton Win Falkirk v St Mirren - Draw Killie v ICT - Killie Win ICT v Falkirk - Falkirk Win St Mirren v Hamilton - St Mirren Win Killie v Motherwell - Killie Win Falkirk get 7 points - go above us St Mirren get 7 points - go above us Killie get 6 points - go above us Hamilton get 3 points - go above us So as I said....mathematically we're not safe, even with a win tomorrow. There's almost definitely other permutations which would see us relegated.

Today's Games
Not mathematically...but it would take almost all other results going against us for us to go down.

Yessssssssss....Come on Killie

I wouldn't be upset to see St Mirren relegated.

Today's Games
Bad weather throughout most of the central belt and reports that many of the pitches are waterlogged. Officials sliding all over the place and a couple of injured players during the first half as a result.

Going by what's being said on Open All Mics half the games in Scotland shouldn't be going ahead today.
